CHAPTER 39

WE ARRIVED IN OKLAHOMA CITY AND STARTED OFF WITH A TOUR AROUND THE CITY.

We were able to visit and witness the uniquely wonderful sights of Downtown skyline, SkyDance Pedestrian Bridge, City Hall, Gold Star Memorial Building, Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City National Memorial, state capitol.

All of it in a day felt like we were travelling around the world and it seemed so interesting.

I knew America was a big country but this was by far just fascinating. I didn't imagine it to be this beautiful.

I had my head stuck up in Buenos that I missed such a big deal of the world. I definitely needed to make up for it and take my head back in the clouds where it belonged.

After the fantastic tour, we went back to the hotel where we rested in preparation for the morning.

I was surprised, the following day when even more women were gathered there. How many people did she invite?

It seemed like an entire world class women collection. Half the city maybe? Where all of them her friends?

I looked around and was able to spot a few of the women belonging to the rich community.

Miranda Lambert, who was a model working with Huda Cosmetics.

Knowing that we were here to meet her, I looked them up on line and found that they recently launched a Bomb Brows Microshade Pencil with an uber-thin tip for a microbladed look at home.

If Ciara's company was going to beat them, they had to think big because Huda was definitely not playing fair.

I also noticed Misha Collins, world's famous entrepreneur. She started her own textile company at the age of sixteen most of which was possible as funded and assisted by her rich father, Rick Collins.

Two years ago, Forbes reported the company was valued at $800 million, and a year ago, valued the company at $900 million. This girl was earning money like nobody's business and to think that she was young and female was a bomb.

I also didn't miss the graceful sight of Anila Ahmad; the beautiful Indian who won the title of Miss World just last year.

She really was very beautiful and deserving of such a title.

The people she contested against were equally beautiful and serving but she was just the best.

I remember following through the entire series from first episode to last.

I was so obsessed and decided to try out some time.

Seeing all these beautiful people born with silver spoons in their mouths, I already rated the wedding. It was going to be one of a kind

"Be careful...." Ciara whispered and I looked at her surprised. "In such a crowd you might not suspect a gold-digger...."

"Ciara...shhh" I looked around and slapped her forehead lightly.

She looked at me and wiggled her eyebrows.

Having had rest and a snack, Kelly announced that there would be a pick and get session sponsored by Gucci which would run only for five minutes. Whatever you grab you get.

To think that Gucci was the world expensive brand and it was giving away cloths for free, my heart couldn't get settled.

I was a self earning model, actress and girlfriend to the rich well to do talented artist yet I couldn't manage to keep buying every month. I was the woman that believed in buying living for my own self and couldn't rely on a man.

I carried my own weight.

"Are you ready?????" Kelly screamed through a microphone. I was so excited. I immediately spotted a pair of nude stilettos which I was sure would be my perfect size. Looking to my left, the jewelry section, a red bracelet sparkled in the sunlight and I made it my mission to grab it.

"You're seriously up for this???" Ciara asked.

"Yeah...." I replied happily looking around. "I never knew no one loves free cloths than rich people...." I smiled and rushed to get the two things I dearly sweated for when Kelly called it.

I held my shoes close and immediately placed the bracelet on my wrist.

With the colour of my skin, it blended so well and I decided to wear it for my dinner with Adam once we meet.

I was about to look for another thing when I saw Jeannine and Kelly seated on the stage with Kelly looking more pleased than Jeannine who was somewhat confused. She was seated there looking this way and that, with a bewildered look on her face.

I smiled and walked over to them.

"Umm...Kelly, do you.mind keeping these for me??" I asked purposely just to throw jabs at Jeannine.

I knew Kelly had her detained and she wouldn't do anything about it.

"Why does she get to participate when I can't??" Jeanine asked angrily.

"You're sick, and she's not. You got poisoned remember?" Kelly reminded receiving the shoes from me.

"Then why is she roaming around freely, having fun instead of rotting behind bars???" She gritted her teeth and clenched her fingers into fists.

"Because it's how I want it to be...."

"How you want it to be??? Well that's unfair...." Jeannine raised an eyebrow and looked at Kelly who seemed not to be shaken even to a finger by Jeanine's actions.

I felt sorry for her to have to tolerate such. It was all my fault and I had to repay her somehow.

"Three minutes girls...pick that dream dress.." Kelly screamed through the microphone and I remembered just about a dress I saw on the Gucci website. I raced back to the crowd and spotted it on a mannequin. It was in the centre of the crowd and no one seemed to be spotting it.

It shone above all, with a glittering golden lace that disdained every other cloth around it.

It was one of a kind.

It was designed by Olly Murry, himself and only three copies of it were released worldwide and also only sold to three 'Very Important Persons' who even had to receive private invitations.

This dress was priceless.

It's style was elegant, young and of course popular; not forgetting expensive also among the most vivacious ladies of the highest community. How did these people not kill for it already?

Did that mean it was meant for me?

It was a small, champagne lace dress with a silky lily on the left waist ridge and beads of jade on the hemline. I so wanted it.

I reached out my hand to grab it but to my dismay, someone outrun me. She quickly removed the dress from the mannequin and held it against herself in front of the full length mirror.

"Mine....!!!!" her voice sounded like the hoarse voice of a witch casting a spell tearing my heart to shreds wepping over the lost treasure.
