CHAPTER 43

DANCING THE TANGO WAS MY EVERYDAY LIFE WITH MY MOTHER. When I was little, instead of singing me a song in the morning or a lullaby in the night, she would ask me to dance with her.

I loved it very much.

Addicted to the tangle, we got the chance to learn other styles of the same dance from different cultures and it was beautiful to add diversity in the beliefs.

In Argentine and Uruguayan tango, the body's center moves first, then the feet reach to support it. In ballroom tango, the body is initially set in motion across the floor through the flexing of the lower joints (hip, knee, ankle) while the feet are delayed, then the feet move quickly to catch the body, resulting in snatching or striking action that reflects the staccato nature of this style's preferred music.

From childhood and an early age, it was my deepest desire to one day dance to the tango again. Since my mother's passing, not even once did I ever.

But now, here with Adam; when Marry You by Bruno Mars was playing, I just let myself go and he followed through without difficulty. The steps in tango are typically more gliding, but can vary widely in timing, speed, and character, and follow no single specific rhythm.

Because the dance is led and followed at the level of individual steps, these variations can occur from one step to the next. This allows the dancers to vary the dance from moment to moment to match the music and their mood.

"Is it the look in your eyes? Or Is it this dancing juice?? Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry youuuu" the crowd cheered and clapped for us.

I hardly noticed that everyone had stopped dancing and was paying attention to us. I was lost in the dance and the song so much that the music stopped playing and I still felt like going on and on.

For the final pose, I stood with one of my legs stretched on the floor and the other crouched onto Adams knee with my hand in his; his other on my back.

"WooHoooo!!!!" A loud round of applause echoed throughout the entire room. We definitely stole the show this night.

I looked at Adam and saw nothing but the man I'd fallen in love with. He was so much more than just a talented man who knew how to handle the brush well. He was a godgiven prodigy all for my concurrence.

Looking at him and having him look back at me was beautiful. He was tall, lean with a somewhat athletic body. Towering over me like a lamp stand, I wouldn't dare compare him with the moon. Obviously he would shine bright.

"I think I wanna marry you...." he repeated the last line of the song and I went blank for a second. Matching his enthusiasm, I faced him squarely; trying not to give in to his attractiveness.

"You really do???" I asked and he nodded.

"I really do....now....wasting no more time....Would you make me the happiest man and ---"

"Shhh. Not here....." I held him back preventing him from getting down on his knees.

He gave me a questioning look, observing my gestures, movements and expressions. I kept staring at him with my blood boiling at the highest point.

I wanted it to be a surprise but I guess this was the right time for it.

"Not here....but...in Peru...." I managed to say hoping I wouldn't bite my tongue.

"W-what???" Of course I knew they'd be a stammer somewhere.

"Yes my love....Peru...." I repeated and he felt like he was going to cry. I knew how much he's always wanted to go there. One of the most beautiful and impressive ancient sites in the world, Machu Picchu is the undisputable. Adam had his attic covered in paintings of it and I could surely tell how much he was into that place.

"Machu Picchu??" he asked instantly telling me that was the only thing on his mind when thinking about Peru. Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru, on a mountain ridge.

I honestly didn't find anything fancy about it but if Adam wanted to visit it, I didn't mind.

"Yes....we leave tomorrow....." I replied.

"But the wedding??"

"I already talked to Kelly about it and she agreed for us to leave...." I lied.

I hadn't talked to her yet but I was planning on doing so and I knew she wouldn't mind.

"Happy fifteenth anniversary....." I smiled and wiped his cheek of the sweat that crept down from the dancing.

Still having me in his arms, he spared no minute and unexpectedly kissed me.

I was shy at first but if he had the guts to do it in front of everyone then why not me?

We went on for the next minute and decided to keep the rest for later.

"See you at dinner..." I waved and listened once more as the crowd couldn't stop praising him and I. We totally hot it off and I was sure videos were trending on YouTube as we spoke.

"Sure....." he kissed my hand and let me go.

I took a few steps backwards and then turned around to leave, feeling like the only girl in the world.

All eyes were on me and I couldn't help but smile all the way. I liked that I could be myself with Adam.

I could definitely do all I wished and not be judged at the end of the day.

He was my angel and I wouldn't ask for anything more.

"Some smooch that was. For a moment I thought you were going to swallow him....." the thrilling voice of Ciara echoed from my back and I immediately started smiling.

She looked at me and I tried to hide my blush. I looked back to face him and he was still standing in the centre of the room, looking at me.

"Yeah yeah....." Ciara said dragging me away. I waved at Adam and followed Ciara to our hotel room.

We had a grand dinner happening tonight and it was Huda and her team personally doing our make up for us. I decided I was going to wear the dress and stilettos I got earlier.

This was going to be so much more fun.

"You totally missed him didn't you?" she asked after closing the door and I nodded.

"I know....I miss somebody too....." she yawned and threw herself on the bed.

Sneaky, I followed after her and she turned to the other way. Shy??

"Griffin right???" I asked and she remained quiet for some time.

"I wish he'd come tonight....." I added and got off the bed walking to the mirror. I lay my hair down and tried to make Ciara talk.

This topic about Griffin was stressing her so much and I knew I had to help her with it.

Kelly was right when she said I was close to Ciara but I didn't understand why she didn't want to share such news with me.

What else was wrong?

Then, my phone rang and looking at the caller ID, my mood turned down. Why would Aaron be calling me now? I walked out of the room and picked up the call.

"Aaron...what is it??"

"Are you alone? I have to tell you this when no-one else is around you. I also had our call encrypted...." hearing him explain that sent a shiver down my spine.

What did he want to talk about?

"Uh...am walking to my room right now...." I said walking down the stairs and outside the hotel. "What is it???"

"Do you remember when you asked me to track down the source of the salad that you received, following the comments from your Instagram post??"

"Yeah....." I replied my mind trailing off to RedLotus.

"I found something....."
