CHAPTER 44

"FOUND SOMETHING???" I ASKED BOTH EXCITED AND NERVOUS. My heart was pounding hard and I could feel it throbbing against my chest wall.

"Yes ma'am....a lot of people replied to your post but I narrowed them all down to three important ones. One said Los Angeles, another said Chile and the other said Europe which I found rather interesting. I hired a private investigator who did research in Europe saying there was a hotel in Belgium that exported such berries....."

"Oh really???" I asked. My throat became hoarse and hot I could barely breathe.

"Yes ma'am. And it turns out Los Angeles imports their berries from Belgium while Chile grows their own...."

"That means there's a high chance whoever bought them ordered them from the Belgium port right??" I asked trying to solve the mystery.

"Might be....but we can't ignore the Los Angeles lead too. Am awaiting more information from the investigator right now. We are scheduled to meet for tea...."

"Good detective work Aaron...." I took a deep breath and leaned against a wall.

"Just doing my job....." He replied and I hang up, sliding the phone to my chest, hugging it tight.

I was relieved and disturbed. We found a lead but it seemed undesirable like a dead end. I sensed nothing sprouting from all this hard work but I couldn't dismiss it yet. Whether fruitful or not, at least I won't regret not putting in all my efforts.

For so long I'd been looking for this person and here I was almost finding him. I had no relations with him but he seemed to know me very well and was ready to pay any price to make me happy.

Who was he??

*******

I was sitting in front of the mirror but unfortunately couldn't see my own reflection. I could feel a bristles of a brush run the course of my cheek and it served as a reminder that my name up was being done.

I couldn't stop thinking about my conversation with Aaron.

I hoped be would find this person and we would settle the matter.

"Ma'am....are you satisfied??" A sweet voice asked and I slowly drifted back into reality. I turned to my left, following the sound waves and landed on a familiar famous face. Huda Kattan.

"Ma'am? Please call me Eleanor...." I eased up the environment and stood up, taking off the safety coat. I had already worn my dress in preparation for the dinner along with my shoes.

"Is that Olly Murry's designer dress???" She asked and I smiled, turning around for her to admire me from all angles.

"You bet it is...." Her assistant shrieked and I nodded at them.

"Oh my Goodness....." She gasped. "Wow....you're living my dream life....." She sighed and I laughed.

"Thanks for the make up.....I appreciate...it's beautiful..and matches my outfit....." I couldn't stop looking at myself. Huda did have a skill. My face looked natural as though I wasn't wearing any make up at the same time, shinning like a diamond.

"I run a cosmetics company. I just have to know how to do it best...Besides, I do this for a living and I've applied make up on a lot of celebrities. Am a pro...." She boasted and I gave her the shady, fun look.

"You've really done a good job...." I praised her one more time and looked at my watch. It was almost eight and I had to leave for the dinner.

I waved at her and walked out of the salon.

It was dark outside and a few stars shine up in the sky. A gentle breeze brew and I so much appreciated it. I was looking forward to have my hair blowing in the wind giving me the super star look.

I took dainty steps, holding onto my purse as I walked down the stairs towards the courtyard.

The car park was empty and I wondered where everyone was. Thinking about the obsessed stalker, I got nervous.

What if he just emerges from the unknown and kidnap me?

Taking me to a far away land preventing me from ever meeting Adam.

No. I couldn't let that happen to me.

I quickly took out my phone but a tap on my shoulder make me jump in fright, smashing my phone on the ground.

"My apologies madam..." this man bent down to pick the phone for me. He dusted it and gave it to me.

I received it still cautious about everything.

"We need to leave ....if you're done...." he requested rather with much reverence I almost scorned myself for being doubtful.

"Elly....." Ciara tossed her head out and waved at me from a car that was in front of us.

Looking closer, it turned out to be a Lincoln limousine.

I placed my phone back in the purse and walked towards the car.

The man opened the door for me and I got in.

To my surprise an entire community of girls had gathered around inside.

I guess no one ever wants to let the opportunity slip by of getting to be the woman in the limo.

I sat next to Ciara and just like the rest of them, she looked so good not even beautiful was the word. Maybe absolutely beautiful was it.

She had her hair sleeker back and a braided ponytail attached to it that went all the way to her hips.

It was gorgeous. She was gorgeous.

"You look beautiful...." I complimented her and she gave me a dodgy look as she waved a fan in her face. I pushed it away and looked outside the window only to look at her in the next second and bursting into a very loud laughter.

Ciara was a whole vibe and being around her was a blessing to me.

Whoever thought of casting us in the same movie did rather a good job.

I could never imagine that our friendship would grow after the whole movie was released and brought to an end.

It was already two years after and here we were still best of friends. She turned out to be one of those people in my inner circle.

I was lucky to have her.

Having arrived at the hotel, it was Kelly herself in the door acting like the chaperone. She welcomed us all in and invited us to our seats.

To think that she would do that job alone was a shocker. Most rich people would simply take it as an opportunity to spend extra cash but she kindly did it all alone. She had so much more to showcase apart from her money and it was her humbleness.

She was surely my behaviour goals. Fierce and soft at the same time.

"Umm....excuse me Kelly ...a word???" I requested and she nodded walking aside with me.

"I'd like to thank you for helping me with Jeannine...." I started.

I owed it to Jeannine for rescuing me from that terrible woman. She was wicked but fortunately, angels of light like Kelly were able to rescue me.

"Not a problem...don't worry...It was my honour to side with a wonderful woman like you...." Yet again, she amazed me.

"Is that is??" she asked. I was about to say Yes when I remembered Peru. This could be my opportunity to tell her I would leave for a few days and be back later.

"Actually...there's one more thing...."
