CHAPTER 76

"BETTER??" She asked and looked to hide away her disappointment the moment my eyes met hers in the mirror.

"Should we try on the next one??"she asked and I admired myself one more time and gave a light nod.

It was true that from sweeping floor-length evening gowns to short and sexy cocktail dresses, I will undoubtedly achieve the unique look I am aiming for with this dress but it just lacked something. The combination of finesse and elegance.

I stayed silent as she opened my zipper.

I was still looking at the dress and wow, it looked more gorgeous now that I was taking it off. I looked at the next one and it was black. I fell for it too but the red dress was just on point.

I took it off despite my newly formed bond and tried on the black one. It had long sleeves and a zipper on the side. A V neck and buttons built the front and wow, it brought out my entire shape.

It went down to my legs and I liked everything about it.

A classic and stylish black dress is almost as versatile and evergreen as the trusted little red dress.

"You look beautiful. This one suits you better ....", she complimented and I felt good about it.

I turned around and peeped through my shoulder to get a clear view of my back.

The fabric covered my shoulders and sailed down to halfway my back exposing my mid section. Zigzag straps covered the exposed area giving the dress a final touch of glamour.

"Hmm... really??" I asked looking at myself one more time before overthinking it all.

"Yes..." she added and I loved her charisma.

"I hope you're being honest with me...." I replied. I raised my hand for her to unzip it for me and she complied.

I was about to point at the next dress when a knock hammered through the door. Who was it?

"Did you tag the door occupied?" I asked and she nodded.

"Eleanor....it's Adam..." he cleared our suspicions and I took a deep breath. I walked to the door and opened it.

He was carrying some dresses which he handed the me and I received with thanks.

"Please try these too...." he smiled and I looked at them, examining each. Surely they were a man's choice.

A plunging Floral Mini Dress which combined all the best elements of sexy mini dresses and floaty summer dresses, pretty well. The other was a white eyelet Dress.

"Adam...a white dress??" I asked. He knew very well white and me where like day and night. Very distant. I never liked white. The only time I wore white was when I either had a role or I was shooting an advertisement video.

"Everyone knows about the versatility of a little black dress, but white dresses for women can really make you stand out in a crowd..." he wiggled his eyebrows and I raised mine in scorn.

I walked back in and shut the door.

"White it is...." I whined and she smiled helping me out of the black dress and into the white one. Despite my hatred for white, I loved that this dress really looked good on me. The hem had lilac pebbles and in contrast to my opinion, they actually went so well with the dress.

"He sure has a sharp eye ..." she commented walking all around me and inspiring my confidence.

"He does doesn't he?" I asked thinking of just getting the white dress. It was beautiful, I wouldn't deny that. And being Adam's choice was the more reason I had to wear it.

"Well...I like it but it's a bit tight on the waist...." I rested my hands on my sides and breathed. This dress was elegant and beautiful but it was just too firm for me. I was slightly failing to breathe and how was I supposed to eat?

"Oh really..??? Don't worry....we have some fabric expanders... I'll go grab them for you....." she patted my shoulder before leaving and I grinned at her. I sat down on the couch while waiting for her and decided to look at some hairdo's. Maybe they would inspire me on what kind of dress to wear.

Jen Atkin is one of the most famous female hair stylists today. The Kardashians, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, and Bella Hadid have worked with her before and I loved their works as soon on award ceremonies and Instagram.

My hair was medium length, running to two inches below my shoulder as I had it chopped a month ago for a shoot. Hairstyles perfect for it included long bobs, shaggy styles, layers, bangs, side parts, blunt cuts, waves, and sleek and straight.

Looking at all the pictures, I loved how a side part looked. My hair wasn't thick and a bun wouldn't really look beautiful as cool as I wanted it to.

I got up and standing on the mirror, side parted my hair to get a preview of the style. I smiled at my reflection and how gorgeous it looked. I didn't even bother trying the rest hairstyles as this looked more exquisite and just what I was looking for. I bent down to look for some pins in my bag when I heard the door open and close.

"You're back already?" I asked walking back to the mirror but to my alarm, there was something in it with me, forcing me to drop the pins in fright.

I paused and walked toward the mirror to be sure I wasn't hallucinating right before screaming out loud alerting everyone.

I blinked a few times and staring back at me was my own reflection. A feeling of sadness and fear, I saw in my eyes and I could feel they were trying to tell me something. I even reached out my hand to see if what was in front of me was real.

I felt somehow relieved when my hand prints fogged and stamped on the mirror. I really was alone. The fear seeing ghosts, demons, or something strange sneaking up behind me registered in my mind and I got goosebumps. But Adam was outside, I had nothing to fear...

I bent down to pick the pins I dropped and before typing my hair, I saw a figure in the mirror again! There was someone in a black cloak which had a huge hoodie hiding all the features of this person.

I took deep breaths and slowly dropped the pins on the table with my eyes not moving away from the mirror. I began to walk towards the ghostly figure, but as I did the figure appear to back up away from me.

I quickly span around and saw it stand right in front of me. To make matters worst, it lift d the hoodie off and my heart stopped.

I saw a figure with sunken eyes, puffy cheeks, unkempt hair, and big, protruding teeth.

It walked toward me and I felt green like I was going to vomit. This thing was ugly!

I took steps back as it approached me and hitting my back against the mirror, I shook my head asking it to leave me alone.

"You are a very stubborn girl, Eleanor....I guess now you will die..!!!" a horse vicious voice came out of its mouth and it's hand gripped my neck. I tried to free myself but it was impossible.

This was a clear shot for insidious chapter of my life. I looked into its eyes and it looked into mine. Bloodshot red was the colour and I felt my soul escape from all this.

In its other hand was a knife and it was aimed at me.

Were was the assistant now that I needed her to come? Adam, why wouldn't he just burst in and check on me.... I needed help but no one was with me! I was alone.
