CHAPTER 93

WHENEVER MY MIND LINGERED ON THE SUBJECT OF VIRTUE, a vision of a man rescuing me from the hands of incubus lane couldn't seem to get off my mind. He was all I could ever think of and to even think in the slightest that someone like that existed somewhere was a shocking reality to me. I guess not everybody really hates me in this world.

A knock hammered on the door and I raised my head to look at who it was.

Ciara!!

I wore a smile and quickly got up rushing to give her a hug. She hugged me back and I quickly broke the hug to pinch her cheeks.

"What are you doing???" she asked surprised.

"Just to be sure am not dreaming...." I drew my lips in and had her resume the hug.

I looked into the direction of the door and a thin figure appeared into my sight. I blinked to sharpen my sight as I saw a beautiful, Irish girl. She was wearing a cream dress whose shade wasn't so different from the colour of her skin and made her look very gorgeous.

From all the white Irish models I've seen, she seemed different. Was she a hostess? There must be been something about her that was very expensive.

Her eyes met mine and I could see reflecting in them nothing but a clear temperament. Appealing and calm, enough to tempt even the most stone hearted man. Her eyes were shinning like stars and to sum it all up, she looked like she was from the stars.

"Dia duit....." She folded her arms and smiled.

"Oh...my bad...." Ciara broke our hug and turned to this girl. She stretched her hand out to her and she placed hers in, walking into the room.

"Eleanor meet Caoimhe .... Griffin's older sister...." I smiled at her and opened my arms for a hug. She was shocked at first but she complied after I showed no signs of backing down.

"And Caoimhe....this is Eleanor....my best friend...." Ciara said to her soon to be sister in law. I was proud and happy for her. She was finally chipping into the missing pieces of the puzzle and was getting quiet the Retention and good response from Griffin's family. That was a moment to celebrate.

"Sorry....the room's kinda....yeah....so ...just smack it off your brain...." I walked in and sat on the hammock that Lauren had left in the room earlier.

Ciara sat on the bed along side Caoimhe.

"When did you get here???" I asked.

"As soon as I watched the latest episode of Hollywood Today...."

"Argh...spare my sanity please...." I stuffed a fusion in my face remembering what had happened.

"Am very sorry, Eleanor....It is very difficult to differentiate humans and beasts in today's light...." Caoimhe sighed and I was impressed by her sense of humour.

"It's alright....bad publicity always has about three topics in the how-to-be-a-celebrity menu. I've seen it in all the volumes...." I responded assuringly and Ciara laughed after she got my joke.

"Am sorry for what happened with director Lane. I can't believe he actually tried to force himself on you....and to think that Jeannine had a hand it all this....I certainly don't know what I'll do to her if I meet her...." Ciara clasped a cushion and narrowed her eyes while gritting her teeth. Talk of genuine friends, I'd count her twice and even thrice.

She was a fallen angel that came down especially for me and I admired just how she always stuck around me like a seraphim.

"Have you already opened a case against him? You have plenty of evidence...." Caoimhe asked and I shook my head.

"What evidence?" I asked back and they both looked at me shocked.

"What do you mean? Everyone knows the story....I wonder how it got on social media to begin with....." Ciara asked looking at me and her sister in law, interchangeably who nodded in agreement.

"The only evidence I have are the memories in my head.....I don't know which hotel I was with him..." I replied sadly. I really couldn't believe that it had really happened.

Three days ago, I was in a hotel with an unknown man who I just happen to know as the director of the upcoming hit movie I was staring in.

He drugged me and forced himself on me, only to his doom. Someone else who I didn't know, came over to rescue me and I have no idea where he took me to. I just remembered gunshots in the air as he carried me away and the next thing on my mind was me waking up to being told I was gone for three days.

Yeah. Gone.

They only found me in Adam's cottage out of town where they came after tracing my phone and brought me to Lauren's house. I didn't remember where I was for the past three days and it seemed so unreal to me. Did it really happen?

"But if the case has been publicised it only means that there's a witness. I mean how did the whole world know about it then??" Ciara suggested but I was not interested.

This whole situation was traumatizing for me and I didn't want to worry about it anymore. I just needed a moment to breathe and let my mind settle while thinking of what to do next.

Even I couldn't understand how the whole thing got publicised. Who was it that tipped the media off and had them running for a meeting with me all day long.

"Even I don't know and frankly speaking, I don't wanna know....." I sat up and swung to and fro following the motions of the chair like a pendulum.

"Are you alright??? though???" Ciara asked and I smiled at her nodding my head.

I really was okay. I was happy that my innocence was not stolen from me. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if that ever happened. I would feel utmost depression and fall into a depressive coma obviously.

Having a man take advantage of me was something I promised myself to never be victim of. As an actress and model, I have come to learn of the dirty secrets that our profession harbour behind the pretty faces and amazing movie scenes.

Celibacy was not even a charm women embraced anymore. The world has been adorned with devious men who just couldn't let their hormones breathe each time they saw a beautiful girl. They shamelessly dropped their pants over and over again with no worry about the impact it would have in the entertainment circle if it was all aired.

Pretty sad.

But I promised myself never to be a victim of such at any cost.

I owed it to that man big time for saving me. But who was he??

"Eleanor....a parcel came for you...." Lauren walked into the room with a gift bag in her hands.

I initially thought it was from Adam but even my instincts were able to deny that truth.

Adam never gave me things in a gift bag. This could only mean this was from that one person....

"Uh...who is it from?" Ciara asked.

"Adam...." Lauren replied smilingly.

"No it's not...." I objected and got up walking towards her. She looked at he and I looked back at her. My eyes spoke exactly just what my lips would say and before she could day anything, the bag was snatched from her by Ciara who yelled 'oh no!' before throwing it to the floor.

"Don't look!!!" she screamed and shut her eyes tight with her hands on them.

They all got startled and backed away from the bag. I knew there was something gruesome and horrendous in it but I had to anyway.

I bent down and siting on my knees took the bag, opening it to find a picture frame. I turned it over and my heart skipped a bit.

It was a picture of me but in many areas it didn't look like me.

The face was photoshopped off and had the face of the dead girl in the bathtub replace mine. What seemed like blood droplets scattered all over the rest of the picture and it came with a note as usual.

'Still stubborn?'
