Day One

Today, I woke up again, same gloominess, same life, same damp room, same alarm, same morning… oh and let's not forget, the same bag of depression sitting in the middle of the room making depressions on the bed, me.

I swear to God, I have cried so much that I don't feel like I can cry anymore but I surprise myself every single time, when hot tears trickle down my eyes. All I see nowadays is hallucinations of my mom. I feel like I'm going crazy.

"Has everyone moved on already?"

"Is it still plausible to be in this state of mind for a year?"

"Would people be as depressed as I am if I ended myself?"

"Do I matter to everyone as much as they say I do?"

These questions lingered in my head for days on end. Was whatever they said true?

"JACK!!! WAKE UP!" My step mother banged my door harshly, erupting me out of my thoughts.

She continued to do so for 5 more minutes and when I didn't respond back, she then proceeded to come inside and kicked me then pulled me by my hair and spit in my face.

Just then my younger step sister came in, seemingly horrified by what she saw. After all, six-year-olds are not supposed to see this kind of action… at all.

"Mommy! What are you doing?! Jake!" She screamed, causing dad to come upstairs.

"What is going on here?" Dad asked in a hushed voice.

"I heard him talking to someone!" My step mom cut me off before I could even open my mouth to justify myself.

"And Jake who were you talking to?" Dad sighed.

"Myself." I replied quietly.

"Dad, I want to talk too!" Elizabeth nervously glanced back at my step mother who was gritting her teeth, in a way to warn her to not tell dad.

"Yes… what is it?" He asked smiling a little.

"Mom was hitting Jake! She also called him Jack and she has been doing that for probably a year now." Elizabeth lovingly smiled towards me and hugged me.

"ATTAGIRL ELIZA!" I shouted out, high-fiving Eliza.

Our parents, just then, glared at me. I got nervous but did not apologize.

"Now that you're all done, I have school to attend to." I spoke up with my head high, with the little confidence I had.

An Hour Later

Another teacher came in the room as the class period changed. It was Physical Education now and I was filled with dread. I could easily take a sick leave because I looked very sick but I didn't want to spend my day with my father's second wife. It was better to be here than to face torture.

"Okay! Kids line up! We're going to our football field." The teacher announced enthusiastically.

"Get a load of this hell!" Someone shouted from behind me.

I just minded my own business till someone tripped me, on purpose. I sighed thinking I had no comparison to these trashy people. Then everything faded to black.

3rd Person's Point Of View

"Andrew that was so funny." A girl giggled from behind Jake.

Andrew just giggled back in response.

Just then Jake's moods switched and he landed a solid and forcefully-harsh punch, on Andrew's face.

"Think twice before tripping me." Jake threw another punch on Andrew's face after this statement, leaving everyone along with Andrew shocked.

"Calm down, it was a joke!" Andrew tried to clear out the situation.

"Oh! Haha very funny!" Jake punched Andrew once more, only this time, it was harder than last two times.

"Well, that was my reply to your petty joke. Never make this kind of joke again, okay?" I patted his head and walked back into the line.

"Let's go! My time is precious!" Jake urged the teacher arrogantly like nothing happened… it was like it wasn't Jake there at all… like it was someone else in Jake's body.

"JAKE AND ANDREW... DETENTION FOR THE BOTH OF YOU! BOTH YOUR PARENTS WILL BE CALLED TO DISCUSS YOUR BEHAVIOUR IN CLASS!" The teacher screamed at the two of them.

Andrew apologized while Jake scoffed, passing by the teacher.

In The Detention Hall

"Look Jake... I apologize." Andrew apologized.

"Do I seem like I give two fucks? 'Cuz I don't. I'm not someone you can take, tackle and play with, easily. So think a million times before you 'joke' with me. I don't always play as soft as I did with you." Jake responded with a dark expression on his face.

"Please just this one time... I am extremely and sincerely sorry." Andrew apologized once more but Jake gave him the cold shoulder.

"Jake? What's wrong? Dude! Speak to me!" Andrew shook Jake by his shoulders.

"WE ARE NOT FRIENDS!" Jake shouted in Andrew's face.

"Believe it or not, we are. We have known each other for the entirety of our lives!" Andrew spoke concerned.

"Then you should've thought to not trip me today." Jake sourly replied back.

"I'm sorry okay?" Andrew begged for Jake's forgiveness.

"Accepted, but don't treat Jake like this again or you will pay." Jake whispered, with a smirk and warning eyes, making sure to scare Andrew.

Then again, everything fainted to black.

Andrew's Point Of View

Upon seeing Jake faint right in front of me, I became more concerned than ever.

I alerted the teacher about this and took him to the infirmary.

About 2 Hours Later

"I almost dosed off again." I mumbled to myself.

"Wha- Where- Where am I? Do you know me? Do I know you? Who are you? Who am I?" Jake asked innocently like the sucker punches Jake threw towards me never happened.

"You know pretty well what happened. Don't play dumb." The Physical Education teacher spoke up, standing in the frame of the door of the infirmary.

"No, I really do not know. So I hope you can explain to me what I did." Jake replied, though this time his way of speaking sounded more alien than the time he sucker punched me.
