Sleep Over For Observational Research Purposes

"Wait up! So you don't know... what YOU did? Are you kidding me?!" The Physical Education teacher exclaimed.

"Ma'am please excuse us." I requested.

"I'm going to bring in Ms. White." After informing me, she just left.

After 5 minutes, Ms. White entered the infirmary room.

"You needed me?" She asked fixing her glasses.

"Can you trick Jake into telling us why is he acting innocent after sucker punching me?" I asked in a normal tone, as if all this wasn't shocking at all.

"WHAT?!" She screamed, concerned.

"You know, when the first thought of becoming a teacher was to help shape children of tomorrow, better but what am I doing here? Caring about my nearly adult nephew!" She smacked the back of my head.

"You can do both." Jake spoke with a straight face.

"Jake, please answer these series of questions."

"Sure." He replied monotonously.

"How are you feeling right now?" She asked.

"Feels pretty irrelevant but yeah." He replied with his big attitude, shrugging his shoulders.

"Can I talk to you in person?" Ms. White pulled me outside.

Ms. White's Point Of View

"Ask me... what's up?" Andrew asked.

"What happened today, like his behavior and everything."

"Today, he acted really strange. He not only sucker punched me thrice but he also threatened me and fainted twice!" This sounded familiar but I couldn't just jump to conclusions.

"Stay over at Jake's tonight and study his behavior for me please." I requested.

"Sure but you owe me a favor in return." He passed me a cheeky smile and I sighed, knowing this is going to cost me.

3rd Person's Point Of View

Jake heard their conversation and became kind of excited at the fact Andrew was coming over. Tonight is going to be interesting.

After School, Jake's Point Of View

"Hey! Jake! Can we do a sleep over?" Andrew asked shyly.

"Of course you can." I replied back with a poker face.

He remained silent so I guess I had to tell him which time.

"Well... you can come to my house during 6pm or sometime close to that." I answered awkwardly.

"I'll be there then." He nodded, replying back super awkwardly.

"Okay." I uttered out.

"Yeah." He awkwardly laughed while I scratched the back of my head.

"Jake... can I ask you something?" He asked staring at me.

"Sure, what is it?" I stared back at him and that went on for 2 more minutes till...

He started leaning in and I simply whispered, "Don't take today's threat just like mindless things said to scare you. That's what you might do, I prove my words to be true. Be warned."

"I'LL SEE YOU TONIGHT!" He ran off shouting and so the people standing nearby started looking.

I then just lowered my head and walked the opposite way, minding my own business.

"JAKE! JAKE! WAIT UP!" Someone shouted from behind me.

Though rather than waiting for them to approach me or anything, I just walked away quietly.

I couldn't bring anymore attention to me for today, not that I care but it's just that I don't.

"You need to clean up today." My supposed conscience spoke up as I've been hearing it a lot recently.

"Well, shit. Now, I need to clean up." With Andrew and a list of things to do after getting back home in my head, I speeded towards the direction of my not-so-humble abode.

At Jake's Not-So-Humble Abode

"Oh! Jake! You're home!" Elizabeth ran towards me with arms wide open.

"No kidding sis." I said patting her head lovingly.

"Also a guy called Luke came here. He was asking for you. I told him that you were not home... because you actually weren't." She childishly explained.

"Can you help me clean my room a friend is coming over for a sleep over." I asked her.

"I'm in as long as there aren't any dirty under wears and socks involved." She squealed.

Time Skip

"Well... that was a lot of mess." Elizabeth sighed.

"No kidding." I rolled my eyes.

"It's almost 4:30pm... when is he coming over?" Eliza asked.

"He's coming over at 6 or sometime near then."

"Then go take a shower, dumbass." My head voice spoke.

"Okay. I'm gonna go take a shower. Thank you so much for your help, Eliza. I don't know what I'd be doing if you weren't here." I thanked her.

"Go take a shower!!!!" Eliza squealed.

"Right. Bye! Also please alert me when your mom comes back."

At 6 O'clock

It's been an hour since I showered and yet, he still hasn't showed up. It gets me anxious at the thought that he would've set me up... but I want to trust him.

"But we all know trust is something we can't afford." My assumed 'conscience' interfered my thinking.

"Shut up." I snapped loudly without thinking... luckily I was in my room alone.

Right at that moment, the doorbell ringed and I rushed downstairs just to see Eliza opening the door and there stood her mom.

I felt like my whole day was ruined just by seeing her face but I see her face everyday... yeah, she's just horrible.

She didn't look in a really good mood which for some reason made me feel better but I was still cautious around her.

"Jack! Get me a glass of water and make it quick." She ordered me rudely but I quietly did as told.

Yet my head was spinning like shit.

The doorbell rang again but this time rather than immediately opening the door, I checked the time, then got up and opened the door.

There he stood, sweating like shit and breathing for dear life.

"HI!" He squealed out.

"Come inside." I simply told him.

"WHO IS HE JACK?" She asked.

"A human being, just like me. Duh." I responded rolling my eyes, done with her everyday stupid questions.

"Also I'm Jake, not your old husband. Say my name right" I sassed further.

"Jake... is your friend here? Is he him?" Eliza pointed towards him innocently whilst asking.

"Yes." I silently replied.

"Hi! I'm Eliza, short for Elizabeth. I'm Jake's half-sister." They went on ahead to introduced themselves to each other childishly.

"Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm Jake's childhood friend, best friend, actually and... I haven't been to his house for a sleep over in 5 years. Though, I do remember mourning at his mom's funeral. It really hit me like a rock. She was a really nice lady." Andrew kept on... going on, on every random thing he could've talked about and Eliza was equally immersed in their conversation.

"Eliza! Stop talking to that rotten stranger." Her mom shouted.

"Shush mom! We're talking! It's not nice to disrupt someone when they're talking." Eliza shut up her own mom with sugar-coated words.

"Period." Andrew added further and they giggled like little girls.

"Jake? Can I join your sleep over? Andrew seems to be a fun guy." Eliza pleaded.

"Okay but you need to be in bed by 8 O'clock, SHARP. No 'if's, 'but's or any kind of negotiation or any 'but you didn't tell me not to do this' games with me." I strictly explained to her.
