Andrew's Point Of View
I stood up when he said 'mom'... but the concerning thing was that I already knew something was going to happen.
I started to silently approach him but I flinched when he doubled over as I thought he was going to turn around and do something impulsive. Instead he looked like he was in pain then he called out, "Andrew... ". He then fell and me being me, caught him before he could fall on the hard but carpeted floor.
"Dude! Wake up! Wake up, Jake! Nothing's okay!" I sighed telling myself, maybe this'd help me as Jake always admitted to himself what he felt like and he was calm.
"J-Jake, what do I do now?" I asked, being on the verge of tears.
"I'm calling over your dad." I sighed again and gently put his head on the floor and ran downstairs to find Mr. Herbert.
When I was once downstairs, I started screaming for him, hoping he would come out himself.
"Wha- What happened?" He came out running half awake.
"It's Jake! He's unconscious!" I whispered.
"Say it louder, boy." He exclaimed.
"JAKE'S NOT OKAY! HE JUST PASSED OUT ON THE FLOOR! TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL OR SOMETHING!" I shouted, concerned for my best friend's well-being.
"How? What happened?" He asked unbothered.
"Just take him to the hospital." I sighed.
The elder shrugged as if it wasn't anything wrong or his problem, this action did anger me but I know better than raging on someone twice my age... that too in his house, so I just stood with my head low till he walked away.
After that I ran back upstairs, to Jake. He, however, was not where he fell unconscious, this of course, scared me, "Jake! Jake! Where did this boy vanish off to?"
Right at that moment the door of the bathroom opened and he stepped out in casual wear.
"JAKE! WHAT ARE YOU- WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?! I JUST- I... I... I..." I was just so lost for words, how could he just get off the ground and decide to change clothes after... LITERALLY AFTER FUCKING FAINTING A MOMENT AGO?!
I was now pissed. This wasn't a joke. I cared and he was so non-serious about us yet he was ready to rage at me. I just stood in the middle of the room, feeling insulted, played, angry and concerned, all for and because of Jake.
"Do you have something to say to me?" I asked in an unsure tone.
"I don't think I do, I don't even know you." He calmly uttered.
"Go to sleep, we have school tomorrow." I threw a pillow in his face, done with him acting oblivious, non-serious and annoying.
"Who are you? And why are you... and I here?" He asked now confused.
"Just go to sleep, I'm annoyed of all your jokes and games. YOU THINK I'M A PLAYER YET YOU SCARE ME BY FAINTING ONE MOMENT AND JOKING THE NEXT!" I shouted at him.
"Look... whoever you are, I myself don't know how I'm here. I just asked you so I can get out of here, my mother is waiting for me back at home so I can promise you that I'm not kidding." He gestured a swear on his life, that he wasn't lying and for some reason, I believed him.
It's really sad for me, I always believe him blindly without questioning him twice... why does he push me away like I'm not trustworthy enough.
He tapped my shoulder, holding out his hand, saying, "I have been trapped here for 11 years. Everyday, whenever I opened my eyes in this dank room I hoped for someone from the 'Great Outdoors', here. My mom escaped this dungeon 11 years ago but I never saw her again... I've been waiting for someone for that long, thinking that they'd comeback, they never did though and so I want to reunite with her on my own because maybe just maybe, she forgot me." He choked up and I slapped his hand away.
"I AM NOT HELPING YOU! YOUR MOM DIED 11 YEARS AGO. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO TO MEET HER? SUICIDE?!" I shouted at him.
"If that is what it takes." He smiled at me.
"Give me a break, Jake." I sighed, laying on the bed.
This was not in any way possible, he wanted to die? I turned to look at him, just to see him eerily staring at me. Mind you, it was dead silent right then... I mean who are we kidding? 1 AM is supposed to be dead silent but him staring at me like that just didn't feel right. What was he thinking? Why was he staring at me like that... with an eerie smile like that?
He suddenly flinched and seeing his sudden movement I flinched too.
He now made a scared face but still managed to give me a small smile.
"Don't trust him. He is a liar, a cheat. He's a---", And before saying another word, he again, fainted.
This time, I couldn't catch him. I couldn't move. I was shocked at what he said, what did he mean? Not to trust who? We are the only two here. How come he changed his expressions so quick?
"What's wrong Jake? We were like two peas in a pod, remember? You could say anything to me, be it killing an important person in society. I'd always support you, then why are you pushing me away?" I sighed, tired of everything, "Whatever, as long as I'm with you, I'm okay." I mumbled, walking up to him with two pillows, putting one under his head and one under mine and I fell asleep beside him.
The Next Morning
I shuffled and saw the time, it was 4 AM and so I went to sleep again.
Two Hours Later
Third Person's Point Of View
"EVERYTHING I NEED IS ON THE GROUND!" Jake screamed at the top of his lungs, this shook Andrew and he woke up scared to death.
"Jake stop making my ears bleed." Andrew groaned, turning himself the other way or that was till he heard the melody being played right beside his ear.
" ๐๐บ ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ญ๐ฅ'๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ค, ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ด ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ณ๐ช๐ค,

"I WORKED MY WHOLE LIFE JUST TO GET RIGHT JUST TO BE LIKE, LOOK AT ME I'M NEVER COMING DOWN!" Jake sang at the top of his lungs and looked at Andrew hoping that he'd sing the next line.
Not wanting to let Jake down Andrew mumbled when the woman began to sing the next line, "I... worked my whole life... just to be right... " Andrew froze up not knowing the next lyrics and soon the chorus came, " EVERYTHING I NEED IS ON THE, EVERYTHING I NEED IS ON THE GROUND!" Andrew hyped himself screaming the lyrics.
At first Jake gave him this nasty look for not remembering the lyrics of their favorite childhood song but then joined in, singing along with his best friend, "ON THE GROUND!"
These were the kinds of moments they wanted to cherish but that was far from what life wanted to offer.
