'Now I have a nice, "willing" subject, to practice on.' The first spell I used on the squirrel was body-altering magic, around the third and fourth rank. The spell took effect immediately and its brown squirrel tail started to grow, its bones were making loud cracking sounds and the fur kept falling out and growing back until it became a cat's tail, the squirrel's body was significantly smaller than before. 'Well, that was gross.'

I continued to change the squirrel's body and took notes on how the body changed, the tweaks I did to the magic sphere, and the limits of the magic itself. After I was done, I turned the amalgamation of an animal back into a squirrel and buried it with magic. 'I may be a dick for doing this, but I'm not so much of a monster to defile a corpse and leave it that way.' I headed back over to my bush and waited.
A few hours passed and no new prey was caught, so I decided to look around more while I waited. I got out of the bush and walked around the area before climbing up on the hill. 'I wish the trees were shorter so I could properly see over them,'; I looked at the ground and realized that I could just raise the ground with magic, 'I could give this a try.' I pulled out my wand and used the rank 3 spell [Earth Wall].
The stone wall grew around 15 feet which brought me just above the trees. I noticed a few things, I first noticed my mansion which was near the horizon, then I noticed a weird old building that was quite far away. "Yeah, I could get there and back. Probably." I noted where I needed to go before using some water magic and slowly went down as the earth turned to slush.
At ground level, I began my walk to the old house. I was able to catch a few animals to practice on my way there. After an hour of walking the old house was visible, and it's way bigger than I originally thought it was. The building was 3 stories tall and was very large. 'I should have expected this, I was able to see it from quite a long distance.'
I stood at the entrance of the gate to the mansion, the gate was ajar and heavily rusted. I went to push the gate open only for the gate to fall by the slightest touch. *SNAP* My skeleton nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard the noise, it was only when the gate hit the ground did I notice that it made the loud snap sound. My heart felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. "Oh my god, that scared fucking me." It was only then did I realize that there was an odd quietness surrounding the old mansion. 'It feels so eerie.'
After the scare with the gate, I entered into what was once a garden. The garden no longer held life, in fact, nothing past the brick fence was alive, The whole mansion was dried out and looked like I was for multiple decades. 'There is no way this is not cursed or haunted in some way.' I walked up to a large door at the front of the mansion and pushed it open. 'A little hard to open but at least this one works.'
Inside the mansion, I walked down a large corridor, The corridor had two-door on either side with multiple suits of armor lining the walls, the floor had a worn-out red rug with golden edges, and the walls had an eggshell color that was covered in vegetation. The corridor stopped at a large opening but I ignored it, Instead, I chose to go through the two side rooms first. 'Who knows, I might find something useful here.
I went to the door on the right first because "Why not," and entered the room. As soon as the door opened I felt a wave of mana hit me before quickly disappearing. "What the fuck was that?" I fully entered the room expecting to fight something, only for there to be nothing to fight. Altho there was no danger something felt off, It wasn't until I noticed the walls that I knew something was off. 'This room is impossibly big.'
Walking out of the room, I looked down both sides of the corridor and confirmed my suspicions. 'The inside and outside of this room are completely different.' the room was 2 times larger than it can possibly be, this leaves only one conclusion. My excitement started to overflow as I realized what this was. "Spatial magic!" after suppressing my happiness I continued to search the large room. The room was a storage room that was filled with dust, webs, and random things. 'Why would you need a storage room this big, it's practically a small warehouse house.'
I pulled my shirt above my nose so I wouldn't have to worry about the dust, and created a small dot of light at the end of my wand. 'It's impressive how well the building was holding itself together. All I would need to do to fix this place, and make it liveable again, would be clean the dust that's all over the place, fix the torn carpet, and get rid of the excessive vegetation. Other than that, this mansion is intact.' I looked around the room for a while and found nothing too good, the room was filled with rotten and rusted materials with a few exceptions like a small box that had gold bars in it and a chest the size of my hand with no visible way to open it, I ended up just putting whatever I found cool into my bag.
After I was satisfied with how much I explored the room I left it, while I was shutting the door behind me I ended up getting another blast of mana which made me fall. 'Had to give me a kick on the way out huh?' I got up and went to the door across the corridor only to find that it was locked, and since I didn't want to break the door down I left it alone. 'Maybe I'll find a key somewhere.' I walked away from the door and continued down the corridor. 'I hope I find something neat.'
End.
