CHAPTER 6

All mixing, boiling, frying and steaming were done and we finally came up with a meat loaf....well at least something that looks like a turkey meat loaf. After a long look at it Megan speaks up.

"We did it" she says still looking at it in a weird way.

"Yah we did.... They made it look so easy on tutorial videos". I scoff rolling my eyes.

"At least we did something " Meg says a bit discouraged with her eyes on it.

"You think she will like it... we could have just ordered a pizza or something" I asked unsure of what we were doing, I just didn't like the feeling of doubt I was feeling right now.

"Yes she will, now stop being such a pessimist and go call aunt while I set the table"she says.

"But we just ate like two hours ago"

"My dad always says the easiest way to ease the tension in your heart is to get carried away by the flavour of a delicious meal." She says smiling

"What! Okay no one says that" I say smiling.

She always has a way to make me laugh.

"Right, but my dad does. So now go call aunt before Chris comes down and ruins the surprise."

"You think she will eat?" I ask unsure.

"She will genius"

I take off my apron and began to approach the stairs when...

"Wait up Zoe, something is stuck to your shirt" Meg says stopping me

"Ohh really, where is it?" I say looking round my clothes trying to locate the stain.

"Here" she walks up to me dusting the stain off.

"Thanks" I say while she is still dusting my shirt. Then a second later I started feeling something being put in  my back shorts pockets.

"Whoa! Whoa!! Whoa!!! What are you doing Meg" I say turning around abruptly

"What! What!! What!!!" She says trying to act normal.

"What did you just put in my back pocket" I ask trying to locate my pocket

"What, nothing I did not put anything, why will I put something, anything in my..your back pocket" she stammers

"You were saying?" I say bringing the neatly folded paper out of my pocket.

Then I noticed she was avoiding my eyes. "By the way who is this from?" I ask observing the paper.

"It's from Jason"she reveals, reading my expression.

It felt like I heard wrong, It felt like my ears told me something different from what she was actually saying, So I decided to clarify because it was obvious I have been over thinking things lately.

" Yes it's true I collected it from Jason on Friday. She says with wide eyes

If Jason isn't the most annoying creature created I don't know what he is. He is our high school's player the idiot who has been getting on my nerve since forever. He claims he has feelings for me by sending me cards, flowers and shit which always get into the trash and I was beginning to think he got bored and left me alone but I guess I was wrong. I know, the whole school knows he just wants to add me to his list of "used  girls" which made me utterly despise him more than anything in the world.

"And you have the guts to tell me that?"I asked glaring at her.

"No Zoe, please don't get mad, it's not worth it, I was doing what I thought was right, that's all"

"What do you mean it's not worth it" I growl.

"What I mean is you are getting worked up over nothing...it just a note, and besides I did not collect it that easily, he practically begged his knees off just so I could give you the note, most girls would wish they were in your shoes right now."she replies

"Well, I don't care he can go meet any other girl who's dumb enough to even spare him a glance, and besides you should have told him to come give me the note himself that's if he actually dared"

"You and I both know that is not possible, if just looks could kill he would have been dead by now with the way you look at..did I say look, I mean glare the way you glare at him." she says then raising a brow

"Whatever since you are now his new messenger, please, go tell Jason that if he actually wants me to see the godamn note he has to come give me the note himself and besides I don't see any reason why I shouldn't even go to school tomorrow, I am going so I can see if he dares walk up to me with a dam note" I say placing the note on her palms and then closing it smiling, proud of myself.

" Ugh aren't you going to see the contents"she says starting to get irritated.

"Emmmm NO and do you know why because I don't care and it can go to the hottest part of blazes because I don't give a shit. I say trying to end the conversation.

" You really are a pain in the butt Zoe, go call aunt am done with this"she says gesturing to the both of us annoyed.

"I love you too" I say heading upstairs

By now my anger had already gone down, i realised there was no point getting mad at her. Although she collected the letter she did nothing to be mad about, so I decided to apologize to her later on. Meg could be a drama queen sometimes and I do not want any of that right now. I approach my parent room...well at least used to be my parents room. My mom's room now, and i was a bit surprised she left the door ajar but what I see in there makes me shocked to my marrows.

Tears flowing down from her eyes and she wasn't even trying to wipe it off, was this ever going to end??.....
