A New Friend

"Infernape, use Blaze Kick!"

Immediately, an Infernape came out of nowhere and hit the falling tree with a Blaze Kick, knocking the tree far away, and setting it on fire. You could say that the tree was…

    Blasting off again.

No? Nobody? Jeez, rough crowd. Anyways, the Infernape landed right next to me in a battle stance. As soon as he landed, Fronja attacked him with a Water Pulse, but the Infernape was ready. It used Flamethrower and turned the water into nothing but steam.

"Hey, hey, hey! I don't wanna harm you!" a voice called out.

    "Who are you?" I asked.

"No need to be hostile. I'm Teal. Nice to meet you!" he said, coming out of the forest and extending his hand.

"Name's Black. And uh, likewise," I said.

He seemed like a nice guy with teal hair and wearing actual clothes, unlike somebody who also had teal hair. Wait… I see what he did there.

"What're you doing out here?" he asked.

"I'm headed to Camphrier Town. How about you?" I asked.

"I'm headed there too! Do you just wanna go together?" he asked.

    "Sure, why not," I said.

We walked together to the end of the Route, talking about our accomplishments. Turns out he's a trainer from the Hoenn region, and he has eight badges. He's on a vacation and came to Kalos. He got his Infernape as an egg when he ventured to Sinnoh for a different vacation. We got to Camphrier Town and went to the Pokemon Center.

"Well, where are you going after this?" I asked Teal.

"I'm gonna stay here for a few days, then move on somewhere else. How about you?" Teal asked.

"I think I'm gonna stay here for a few hours, but then I'm gonna leave. I kinda want to get to Cyllage City for my second Gym Badge," I said.

"Ah, I see. Well, come find me before you leave," he said.

    "For sure," I assured him.

I got my pokemon back and went up to Shabboneau Castle to see if there was anything I would need from there, but I didn't go in. And then I remembered. The sleeping Snorlax on Route 7, blocking my path that I would need to take to get to Cyllage City. So, I turned around, and went to Route 7 and got to the Snorlax. Thinking logically, can't I just catch it? Since it's technically asleep? Yeah, I can. I pulled out a Great Ball and tapped its button onto the Snorlax. The ball didn't even rotate. It just dinged and Snorlax was caught.

'Corbin, show Snorlax's stats,' I thought.

    Name-Snorlax

I just caught a damn monster. In a Great Ball, no less.

What.

The.

Actual.

Hell?

Anyways, I went back to Camphrier Town and found Teal exiting the hotel.

"Hey Teal. I think I'm gonna head out soon," I said.

"About that. I was told that there was a sleeping Snorlax on Route 7, blocking the way to Cyllage City. Seems you're gonna have to stay here," he said.

"Yeah, I took care of that. I now have a pokemon that could sweep literally every Gym Leader from here to Snowbelle City," I said.

"You caught it? Prove it," he said.

"K then. Follow me," I said.

I brought him back to Route 7 and brought out a Great Ball.

"There is no possible way that you-" he tried to say.

I tossed the Great Ball and out came Snorlax, my monster.

"What. The. Actual. Hell," Teal said.

"Level 50. Perfect stats. All of its level-up moves and then some. Best abilities. She's literally the perfect Snorlax," I said.

I brought her back into her pokeball.

"Come back to the Pokemon Center. Please," he said, clearly looking scared.

We walked back to the Pokemon Center, where I deposited Snorlax.

"You're not gonna keep it on your team? It's literally the most overpowered pokemon I have ever seen," Teal said.

"Okay, first of all, that's a she. And second of all, having her on my team would make this adventure way too easy," I said.

"Yeah, that's a fair point. Well, if you're gonna head out, I wanna give you two things," Teal said.

    "What are they?" I asked.

"First is an EXP. Share. Turn it on and-" Teal began.

"I know how and EXP. Share works. I'm not an idiot," I said.

[A.N. I swear if you are reading this and you don't know what an EXP. Share is, stop reading now. Just stop. It'll only get worse.]

"Okay, rude. Next thing is an egg to remember me by. And remember, don't give it too much heat, or the pokemon hatched will be too fiery," he said.

"Got it. How long have you walked with it?" I asked.

"About 2 months. It should be pretty close to hatching," he said.

"Why is there a flame on it's rear end?" I asked.

"You'll see. Anyways, you might want to get going. It's pretty far!" Teal said.

"Alright then. I'll see you soon," I said.

"See ya!" he said as I was leaving.

I walked out of the town and went to Route 7. Teal was right. It looks pretty far, and somehow, it's getting late. I put on my skates and went ahead. Before long, night had fallen. I reached into my bottomless pouch, and thought about having some camping gear, which was how the pouch worked. I thought about something, and it came. And the camping gear came, thankfully. God actually gave me some.Thank You.

I felt like resting, even though I could just walk through the night. I set up the tent, and brought out all of my pokemon. Fronja decided to meditate like I was, Hades and Sage were playing around, and the egg was shaking very slowly, as if it knew what was going on and wanted to come join in.

Let's hope that it shakes faster soon.
