The Grove of Ashes

The four of us went to sleep, and the next morning, we were ready to go. We trained quite a bit on the way there, to the point of everyone at level 15, but then I remembered. His pokemon are level 25. Which is pretty high for the second Gym Leader. So we trained some more. And after a battle, Hades began to glow.

'Finally, he's on his way to being a beast among monsters,' I thought.

He evolved into a Charmeleon. And proceeded to run into the forest nearby.

    "Wait! Hades!" I yelled.

I ran after him as fast as I could, but I couldn't find him. I brought out Sage and Fronja to help me look for him. Fronja ran off to search, and Sage stayed still.

[A.N. I will be using these things { } to show what the pokemon are saying.]

{The trees are all blocking my control!} Sage said.

Wait. I can talk to my pokemon now? I didn't hear him, but I felt it in my mind, so it must be telepathically.

'What do you mean by that?' I asked.

{The trees won't let me take control of them and let me see what they're seeing! I can normally do that, but these trees aren't letting me!} Sage said.

'Hey, hey! Calm down, it's okay. Why don't you just look around that way and yell out if you see Hades?' I said, pointing in the opposite direction that Fronja went.

    {Got it.} he said.

He jumped and latched onto a tree and swung away. I ran forwards, looking around as I went. After around 20 minutes of running, I saw a light. But I was out of energy. I kept going, but at a much slower pace. Once I got to the light, I realized that it was a clearing, and that Fronja and Sage were already there. In the center was a huge burnt tree with limbs that seemed to be reaching down to pick us up. The three of us walked up the huge limbs and saw Hades fighting a Charizard in an arena that was created from the tree.

Fronja started to make a Water Pulse, but I stopped him. This was a battle for Hades and Hades only. The Charizard shot Flamethrower at Hades, but he dodged it and went at the Charizard with a Flame Charge that turned into a Flame Scratch. He caught

the Charizard off-guard and knocked him backwards. The Charizard seemed to nod in approval. It looked up and saw us. As soon as it did, it sent a huge Flamethrower at us. Fronja immediately jumped up and used a Water Pulse to douse the flames. He then ran towards the Charizard and used Cut.

    Hol' up.

Since when does Fronja know Cut?

Probably best not to ask. He hit the Charizard with enough force to knock him backwards as well.

{Let's beat this guy together!} Fronja said.

    {Alright!} Hades responded.

Hades used Smokescreen to make a cover for Fronja to use Cut multiple times on the Charizard. And suddenly, something began to shake in my pouch. I brought out the egg that Teal gave to me, and it was shaking rapidly. And it was getting hotter. And hotter. And then it cracked. Again. Finally, a fist came out of the cracks. The pokemon broke out of the egg, and it was a Chimchar with a bright blue blue flame on its tail. He ran straight for the battle field before I could stop him and hit the Charizard with a powerful Thunder Punch.

That was… unexpected, to say the least.

Even the Charizard was stunned. So now I had 3 different pokemon fighting a Charizard. Including a Level 1 Chimchar.

'Hey! Charizard! Stop this!' I yelled in my mind.

{I didn't start this! Tell your pokemon to stop attacking me! I was only trying to teach your Charmeleon how to use Flamethrower and level it up a little!} she said.

'Oh, okay. Fronja, Chimchar. Stop.' I said.

    {Alright.} Fronja said.

They stopped attacking and walked a little bit away.

'Hey, Hades. Show me what you learned.' I said.

Hades immediately shot a huge Flamethrower into the sky. It was glorious.

'Nice job. That was perfect! And Charizard, what is this place?' I asked.

{This is the Grove of Ashes. Many fire-type pokemon are drawn here. When they come, their final evolution master comes to teach them a move or just train them. That might have been why your Chimchar there hatched.} Charizard said.

'Oooooh, so that's why. Thank you!' I said.

We left and went back to Route 7. And dusk had already fallen. Naturally, I set up a tent and went to sleep. Oh, and minor detail, Chimchar's nickname is Son Goku.
