Korrina and The Reflection Cave

Early in the morning, I head out of the hotel only to find three pokemon standing at the door.

"Uh, why are you three here?" I asked them.

{Me and Houndour want to join you on your journey!} Eevee said.

"Are you sure? Cuz it won't be easy being on my team," I said.

{We can do it! We've seen how strong you are, so let's go!} Houndour said.

"Absol? You're okay with this?" I asked.

{Meh, I'll be fine. I have things to do anyways.} she said.

"Alright then. First things first. Nicknames. Make one up for yourselves," I said.

{Doomsday sounds nice for me.} Houndour said.

    {Tamao for me.} Eevee said.

"Alright then. From now on, you guys are part of my team," I said, tossing pokeballs at them.

Huh. Their stats are perfectly equal. Probably because they had the same teacher. Absol walked back to her cave and I brought out Fronja, because I wanted someone to talk to, and he is surprisingly good company. We walked out almost to Route 11 when a Lucario came out of nowhere.

{You! You seem like you have more aura than a normal human. Who are you?} he said.

{Who are you? You just came out of nowhere and asked my leader a question without even saying who you are!} Fronja retorted.

"Fronja, it's okay. As for you, I'm Black. Nice to meet ya," I said.

My gosh I have taught Fronja well.

{My name is Lucario. And likewise.} he said.

We talked for a little while when a young female voice called out.

"Lucario! Where are you?" she yelled.

She came skating towards us as she saw him.

"Oh, Lucario! Don't run off like that! Sorry if he caused you any trouble," she said.

"Eh, it's fine. He's a nice guy anyways. As for you, Korrina, I'm coming for you next," I said, realizing who she was.

"Wha? How do you know who I am? And what do you mean, you're coming for me?" Korrina asked.

"I could recognize you anywhere. You're the third gym leader. Why wouldn't I know about you?" I asked.

"Fair point, but that doesn't answer my second question!" she said.

"Sure it does. I have two badges. You are my next obstacle," I said.

"Oh! That's what you meant. Well, if you're gonna battle me, I need to see if you're ready! So let's battle!" she yelled.

"Alright then. Fronja, let's do this," I said.

"Come on out, Lucario! Use Power-Up Punch!"

    "Counter with your own, Fronja."

The attacks clashed and the backlash was surprisingly more than normal.

    "Swords Dance!"

    "Cancel it with Scald."

Lucario began to make swords appear over it, but Fronja shot a Scald and canceled the attack, also Burning the opponent.

    "Double Team and Ice Beam."

    "Lucario!"

But it was too late. Fronja made many copies and they all shot an Ice Beam each, taking out her first Lucario.

"Well then, you're up! Use Metal Sound!"

"Cover your ears and use Power-Up Punch."

The Lucario that I was talking to scratched its spikes together, but it had no effect. Fronja had covered his ears. The many ran at Lucario and eached landed a Power-Up Punch, taking him out.

"Wow! You're really strong! You said you were headed to my gym? Let's go together!" she said.

    "Uh, okay," I said.

We walked through Route 11 and talked about fighting and training strategies. Eventually, we got to The Reflection Cave.

"This place is great for training my fighting-type pokemon! I hope you have something to counter us! See ya!" she said as she skated on into the cave.

Well that was… weird, to say the least. Anyways, I walked into the cave after she was long gone, it seemed. I brought out Sage and Son Goku for some training before our fight, however Son Goku did the most.

I trained them up, Sage to level 27 and Son Goku to level 24. We walked together through the cave before realizing we were lost. And I don't have a pokemon to help track the cave. The crystals would help if they didn't all look the same. Maybe the scattered leaves and burn marks will help. Or I could just ask for directions. Yeah. That's what I'll do.

"Hey. Can you tell me how to get out of here?" I asked the first person I found.

"Sure! After a battle!" he said.

    "Ugh, fine."

"Come on out, Absol!" he said.

"Son Goku, take care of this," I said.

    "Use Psycho Cut!"

"Eh, do it without my instruction."

The Absol's horn turned pink before it shot the pink energy at Son Goku. He easily dodged and attacked with a Mach Punch.

"Absol! Use Bite if you're okay!"

The Absol barely got up and covered its teeth in its dark energy. It lunged at Son Goku, who used Counter. He hit with another Mach Punch, sending it flying.

"Absol, no! Well then, come out, Pinsir! Use Brick Break!" he said, taking back his Absol and bringing out a Pinsir.

The Pinsir jumped at Son Goku, but he was ready. He used Flame Wheel to make it impossible to hit him without hurting yourself. The Pinsir hit the flames, but Son Goku was unaffected. Instead, he hit Pinsir with a blue Fire Punch, sending it flying. Then he sent the wheel of flames at it, finishing the battle.

"Darn! You're really strong, you know that? Anyways, the exit's right there," he said, pointing to an exit.

    "Thanks. See ya," I said.

It's at times like these I wonder whether I can win the league or not. How could I not see that exit. I left the cave, Son Goku by my side. And finally, I was in Shalour City.
