The Kalosian Swamp

In the swamp, I found it relatively easy to get through. I could walk through the shallow water with ease. And for the deeper waters, I just got Lapras to carry me through. And apparently, she can walk on land, too. So we walked and talked until we realized that somehow, it was getting late. It was as if this swamp was huge and we didn't even realize it until now. So, we walked over to a clear chunk of land and began setting up the tent and food. I let everyone out of their balls, and everyone helped. But then, I heard something. It sounded like wings flapping. I thought it was Hades, so I looked around, but he was standing on the ground.

The wings kept flapping, and I even felt the temperature increase. I kept looking around, and I noticed that the sky was red above us. Now that's something weird. I couldn't figure out what was happening. But then, I felt something behind me. I wheeled around and I couldn't believe my eyes at what I saw.

The legendary bird, the Fire/Flying type Moltres, was right behind me. Its golden feathers were right in my face. The flames coming off of its wings were majestic, like nothing I had seen before. It was a glorious sight.

{Human. You are different from the rest. I want to battle you. Come at me with your best shot!}

"Alright then, Moltres. You want a battle, you've got it! Lapras, can you take care of this?"

{Of course I can. I'll take this guy on!}

"Let's do this, Lapras!"

    --------LEGENDARY BATTLE COMMENCE--------

    Moltres immediately set up Sunny Day to weaken Lapras' water-type attacks. Then, it instantly shot a Solar Beam at Lapras.

    "Lapras, counter with Ice Beam!"

    She charged up and shot back at the Solar Beam, somehow overcoming it and launching it back towards Moltres. But before it could hit, Moltres flew out of the way and right at Lapras, its wing covered in Steel-type energy. Lapras tried to dodge the attack, but was hit.

    "Lapras, use Rain Dance and then Water Pulse!"

    Lapras cried out and it began to rain above us. Then, Lapras shot a Water Pulse at Moltres, which it was unable to dodge, making it get hit and losing stamina.

    "Surf!"

    Lapras created a huge wave and began going straight for Moltres, who was on the ground. Seeing this, Moltres got up and tried to fly upwards, and out of the way, but it was unsuccessful. Lapras hit Moltres with Surf, knocking it away, into a tree.

    "Keep it going! Use Water Pulse!"

    Lapras shot a pulse of water at Moltres, who was down, but not out for the count. It got up and flew upwards to avoid the attack. It then shot an Air Slash at Lapras.

    "Lapras, go for an Ice Barrier!"

    She used Ice Beam to make a layer of ice all around her, protecting her from the saw-like blades of wind being sent at her. But she did leave a small hole, for breathing, I assume. But then I realized.

    The hole was perfectly sized for an attack to be shot out of it. Dang, she's smart.

    "Lapras, go for a Protect inside of the barrier! Can't hurt to be safe, can it?"

    I couldn't see what she did, but I assumed she put up a Protect. Moltres wasn't having it, though. It began glowing orange with gold sparkles and began charging an attack. I recognized this move. It's Sky Attack! Moltres plans to break both barriers with a single move! And knowing the power of legendaries, it probably will!

    "Lapras, get ready! This is gonna be rough!"

    Moltres flew directly into Lapras' Ice Barrier, shattering it with one shot. But the Protect blocked the attack completely. And Lapras had a ball of water charged at her mouth. What? Oh no, she couldn't have learned THAT move…

    Yep. She did. Lapras blasted a giant Hydro Pump, right at Moltres, blasting it far away, back into a tree. At this point, I thought Moltres had fainted. But somehow, it got up. Moltres flew at high speeds towards Lapras, but right before it hit her, Moltres faltered and hit the ground, fainted.

    --------LEGENDARY BATTLE END--------

    Shocked, I looked at Lapras in awe. I had no clue she was this powerful.

    'Wait a minute, how the heck did she learn Freeze-Dry and Dragon Pulse?'

    'Those are two of the Lapras species' egg moves, that are learned from passing down moves from generation to generation.'

    'Oh, okay. Makes sense.'

    Then, I remembered that Moltres is a legendary. It protects other mons. And it probably still needs to. I quickly ran over to it and fed it a Max Revive I found a while back. Slowly, Moltres got up from its spot on the ground.

    {How? How did you train such a powerful pokemon? You really are different from others I've seen.}

    "Well, in all honesty, I'm not really sure. She does what she does, and I go with it. Simple," I responded.

    {I see. My comrades and I will have to try that. I will see you soon, human. Goodbye.}

    Moltres began to fly away, and I waved to it. The sky turned its regular evening orange, and I went back to cooking food for all of us. But eventually, I noticed that Lapras was still looking at the sky, where Moltres had flown off. I walked over to her and stood there, staring at the sky for a couple minutes.

    "Something on your mind?" I said, breaking the silence.

    {Yeah, actually. Why did Moltres come here and say that you were different from the rest? Are you some special human being, and we just don't know it? Or are you just that strong?}

    "Well, you could say I'm the former, or the latter, but personally, I would say that I'm both. You'll see soon enough what I mean by that, haha. But don't just sit here wondering! We've got a long day ahead of us, and you need to get some of your energy back! So come on, let's eat!"

    We walked back to the camp and kept preparing the food. Once it was almost ready, I tried something. I tried channeling my Omni Ki into the meals. And surprisingly, it actually worked. The meals began to slightly radiate with Omni Ki. I didn't want to overload the meals, since I didn't know what would happen to my pokemon. But they ate it, and thankfully, no one exploded. As a matter of fact, they all seemed a bit stronger. I guess I'm gonna have to do that with every meal. After we all ate, everyone went back to their pokeballs and I got in my tent and went to sleep.

    The next day, I woke up and looked outside, and it was daybreak. So, I decided to just stand there and watch the sun rise. My Arceus, this world has some absolutely beautiful sights to see. Once the sun was fully up, I packed up everything and got ready for the day. I brought everyone out, we ate breakfast, and I decided that it would be good exercise if we all went through the latter half of the swamp together. We set off, and we continued getting through with relative ease. Nothing was stopping us. Until we were almost out. And then we found Serena.

    "Oh, Black, hi! How have you been?"

    "I've been doing well, how about you?"

    We talked for a while until she challenged me to a battle. And of course, I accepted.
