I awaken to find myself in an unfamiliar room, musty and closed up, clothes piled down on the floor, bedsheets smelt new yet were as ruffled as an old newspaper.
I touched my face and discovered that it felt strange and unusual, the presence of pimples and acne were unexpected as I clearly had unblemished skin just last night, although shocked I was able to accept it.
Until l glanced over to the desk beside my bed. A smartphone lit up and showed the background of an unfamiliar face. Short black hair, eyes curved into crescents.
I was utterly astounded, I was a completely different person. Not only that, the time was completely wrong too.
It had just been 13th of October, why had it become the 28th of April all of a sudden? Not to mention the year being completely different.
Rubbing my eyes, I realize that it was still early, being 7:30 pm. It was unusual for me to be awake at this time, I felt uneasy.
I turn to the door and simply walked out of the room, my expression mixed with daze and unsettlement, I was unfamiliar with the layout.
Then, I heard a strange peal of laughter. It stemmed from the room adjacent to mine, its door slightly ajar, I was bemused as I found it a bit familiar.
I slowly tiptoed near it and discovered a girl in front of her laptop, dark hair like mine, she had narrowed eyes with dark circles under it.
Covering herself entirely in a blanket, as if she felt cold. I was intrigued and felt sympathetic for some reason.
I glanced at the laptop and noticed the monochromatic face, 'Juuroku!' My mind screamed, I knew this character!
Bobbed hairstyle, overweight and wearing jean overalls. The cruel and contemptuous Admin; Juuroku!
I leaned in closer, hoping to clear away my doubts. And my questions were soon answered after hearing the all so familiar catchphrase.
"How misfortunate~ How misfortunate~. We will grant a magical power to someone as pitiful as you." Her creepy voice nerved me greatly, and so did the girl, "Mahou Shoujo Site?" My housemate muttered softly.
Juuroku then continued, "Our Site will send you a magic stick. It's up to you whether you use it or not. Hope you enjoy your life as a Magical Girl!" The screen blacked out instantly, "How creepy," the girl responded, swiftly going back to sleep.
But as for me, I could not help but hold in my excitement. I had no idea who the girl was, but I was thankful for her being lazy as I would have never discovered what the world I was living in currently was.
If it was like this, then obviously I would sit back and watch the events unfold... Not! Never in my entire life would I ever waste this chance!
To be able to directly interfere with a work of art and fiction was a dream of all readers. Even if this was a lucid dream, there was no harm in trying to change the story.
I looked around and saw that the girl had hanged placed her uniform in the laundry basket, she didn't seem to want to attend school anymore.
Which meant that her Stick was a free for all. Sneaking into her room quietly, I noticed hat she had pictures of herself and me on her desk as well as some adults, meaning that this girl was my family.
It was an obvious point to make, I did not think of it much before, but seeing that she came into contact with the Mahou Shoujo Site meant that she led a misfortunate life, I am unsure what exactly happened, but seeing that we were alone in the house it may have had something to do with our parents.
I frowned feeling this all to be extremely familiar, despite this I shrug it off and took and sneaked in discreetly, I took a peek through her notes, from there I had gotten the address of the school she attended as well as which locker was hers.
I was dumbfounded as no one would ever be stupid enough to do that, but considering that she may have gone through a traumatic experience, memory impairment was possible.
Sneaking out quietly, I then went back into my room. This was my chance to take the Stick, after all in this world, I was most likely a truant.
Sporting a black cloak and muffler, I proceeded to go out. I needed to be safe after all so I bought a knife with me, even though I know that wouldn't do much.
Not in this world, after all it was dangerous since there are a bunch of maniacal girls looking for revenge out there. If I were to snoop around like this looking for Magical Girls, it was obvious that I would be killed in a heartbeat.
Putting my sports shoes on, I then went out and closed the door carefully. Wanting no attention towards me.
Humming, I passed by many people who were either workers going home or those who were going to hit up the bars and show off their assets.
Thankfully, the school my sister attended was a public high school. It was easy to get in as well, even if there were any guards there, I wouldn't need to do much and make up an excuse about how I had forgotten something.
If that didn't work, then the knife I bought was my best bet. Hopefully, it all works out.
....
"Hm?" A pale faceless man in a military uniform looked up. He was surprised by an abnormal situation.
"What is it Ichi? Got cold feet or somethin'?" A voice came from behind Ichi, a black haired being adorning a white headband and a male school uniform as well as a Hyottoko mask; Ni.
"No, it's nothing. It's just that, Juuroku's district... I feel something strange there." Ichi shook his head and reassured his subordinate that he was fine.
"Really? Ya' sure about that? Oh well, not like I care." Ni shrugged it off, not concerned about the matter at all, "Juuroku, huh?"
"That bitch better not die on us." Ni cursed her, unaware of what was to come.
....
Sneaking past the guards were easy, waiting for the Admin to finish her delivery was not. I covered my mouth, shaking in fear as I saw the Admin in person.
I knew her, her true identity and what had made her become like this. The giant Axe she carried was unsettling and quite frankly, very terrifying.
It was different from when I was reading the manga, but now that I was seeing her up close, it was truly heartrending.
As Juuroku slammed the locker shut, she disappeared. I assume she had gone back to the Administrator's council room.
Gulping, I took great strides and went towards my sister's locker. Looking left and right to make sure that I don't get caught.
Heaving a sigh, I proceeded to open it and was shocked. Inside were the shoes of course, but the Stick was something even more glorious in person.
It was a steel gardening trowel with a thick, green plastic handle and white metallic wings above its guard. On its handle was a stylized black symbol of the astrological Zodiac sign: Taurus.
After admiring it I then took the letter left by Juuroku. Unfolding it, I saw Juuroku's portrait at the at the bottom , wishing me, or in this case, my sister a happy magical girl life.
I snorted at this, after mocking her in my head. I read the instructions casually.
[How To Use The Magic Stick]
[Just Dig Anything, That's All]
[And Starting Today You Are Now A Magical Girl!] I sighed. Even if they were unfeeling monsters, they were at least straightforward; unlike actual humans.
Gazing at the trowel I began to smile, pondering about its functions. "I wonder what kind of power this has?" I spoke quietly to myself, "Only one way to find out."
