Chapter 4

-alarm starts ringing-

I wake up to the sound of the annoying alarm. I decided to go to the office today before visiting my baby and wife at the hospital and then go to the venue of the press conference I have this week. Sophie and Jihun will be released from the hospital tomorrow. I am so excited to bring them home! I do my morning routine and get dressed neatly in my grey suit. Then, I go downstairs and eat breakfast made by the home cook.

"Daniel, did we get the forestation deal?", I asked Daniel while making my way to the staffs' floor to check on them.

"We got the deal, sir.", he replied as he walked by my side.

"Okay, call a meeting. We need a plan so we can start the project and finish it within the deadline we got.", I said.

We reached the staffs' floor. I walk in with Daniel as all of the staff members stood up and bowed to me. I bowed my head and signaled them to sit.

"Today, we are going to organize our plan for our forestation project. This is the first project for us as Park Environmental Restoration Corporation so I want it to be perfect. List down the ideas you have regarding the project and present it in the meeting, sharp, at 3.", I ordered.

"Okay Mr. Park!", they replied to me.

"That's great! And you guys are invited to the party next week! My son will be there and I hope all of you will be present!", I said with a smile on my face. They all became happy and started cheering. Daniel's phone rang up.

"Yes, okay, I'll inform him.", he answered the phone and looked at me. "Sir, Mrs. Park wants you at the hospital. Should I ask them to give her the phone?"

"Yes.", I said. Daniel handed me the phone. "Hello?"

"Oh hi! Jagi, please come to the hospital as soon as you are free. I didn't get you on your phone so I called Daniel. You must have forgotten to charge it last night. Anyway, I am waiting. Jihun is waiting too. Bye.", she quickly said and cut the line without letting me speak. I stare at the phone screen dumbfounded for a moment before handing it to Daniel.

"Should I arrange a car to go to the hospital asap?", Daniel asked me.

"No, it's fine. She was just checking on me.", I shyly smiled to myself before putting on my serious face again and walked into the office.

She still has the same effect on me she had since these long 8 years.

"Hey~", I slowly opened the door of the hospital room and walked in. Sophie gave me a soft smile. I approached her and saw her feeding Jihun.

"Hey honey~", she greeted me with a kiss.

"How's he doing?", I asked and placed my hand gently on his head. "Hello Jihun, appa is here.", I got a chair and sat beside them.

"He's doing fine. Can you where Hae is? She was going to fold some of Jihun's clothes but went out to take a very important call of hers. It's been 5 minutes.", she softly asked me.

"I said her never to leave you two unattended. Wait, I am finding her now.", I stood up and was about to go the room but the door opened revealing Hae.

"Oh, good evening Mr. Park!", she greeted me with a smile.

"Where were you?", I asked with a stern tone.

"Sorry Mr. Park, I had to take this call. A friend of mine was very sick, she called me to get some medicines and groceries for her.", she explained.

"Okay, I am letting go this time but never leave my wife and child unattended next time.", I said and went back to my seat.

"It will never happen again Mr. Park.", she said and bowed to me before walking away to fold some baby clothes.

"Is everything going fine jagi?", I asked her. But, she didn't reply. "Jagi?"

"Huh? Oh, did you ask me something? I am feeding the baby so I couldn't hear you.", she said.

"Is everything okay?", I asked again. She smiled at me and nodded. "You know what, pregnancy glow is a thing."

"Why do you think so?", she asked.

"Because you look much more beautiful than before. It's not like you looked bad before, you look more gorgeous than ever.", I said and stared at her face, examining her facial features.

"Your skin looks shinier, your hair looks thicker and better, hey are you listening to me?", I asked as I noticed her getting distracted by the baby.

"Sorry baby, I'll give you all my attention once he's asleep.", she said and went back to putting Jihun to sleep.

"Hmph! But I am your husband!", I started complaining.

"And Jihun's my son.", she replied. "A human who's been in me for 9 months."

"Awh c'mon..okay I'll wait.", I sat patiently waiting for Jihun to fall asleep.

"Is he asleep?", I asked as Sophie placed him carefully back in his crib. She nodded at me as she turned to me and sat comfortably.

"So, Mr. Park, what do you want to say?", she asked.

"Nothing, I just needed some attention.", I goofily smiled as she rolled her eyes at me.

"Mrs. Park, I cleaned all the bottles and the baby's clothes. I also packed everything so we can leave tomorrow morning.", Hae said.

"Okay Hae, you can go now. Come back at night after dinner.", Sophie said. Hae bowed and left the room with her bag.

"Is Hae doing a good job?", I asked.

"Hae is doing a wonderful job. Jihun still seems to be a little fussy around her but he doesn't cry anymore.", she replied. "How is the company?"

"We got the deal!", I exclaimed as a smile spread across her face.

"Can you tell me more about it? And the new branch of the company, what are its goals and visions?", she asked. "I want you to practice on me before the press conference."

"Okay", I let out a chuckle and start explaining about the project.
