Chapter: The Phone Number

"The thundering is gone!" Hyun Soo exclaimed her eyes showing relief.

"Hmm...it feels like everything will be fine now." Sang Hyeon said.

"What does that mean, ma'am?" Hyun Soo said and looked at Sang Hyeon with pouted lips.

"Well, you see..." Sang Hyeon packed her handbag and said further while hanging it on her shoulder.

"Bad weather gives me a bad feeling, so...now it's a relief since everything is fine."

Hyun Soo smiled and nodded.

"Well, I'll get going now, and you, don't stay here too late. Go home as soon as your work's done here." Sang Hyeon stood up and said.

"Yes ma'am." Hyun Soo said bowed down.

"And one more thing..." Sang Hyeon said and Hyun Soo stood upright and looked at her.

"Call me aunt, not ma'am. That's too formal." She said and left the cafe.

Hyun Soo looked at Sang Hyeon who went outside just now and suddenly her phone blinked,

"Sorry, Hyun Soo. I wasn't able to come today to meet you. You might have waited for me for too long."

Young Hee messaged Hyun Soo.

"It's okay, I was also too busy today, let's meet any other day." Hyun Soo replied.

"I'll come tomorrow for sure." Young Hee replied instantly.

"Oh, okay. Will wait for you then."

Hyun Soo kept her phone in her handbag and packed up all her things in it. She then cleaned the one last table left. Do Yun was nowhere to be seen. He left the cafe a while ago and was still outside. Hyun Soo wondered where he was when suddenly someone opened the door of the cafe.

"Sorry sir, but we are closing it now." Hyun Soo said but he kept walking in.

"So this the famous cafe about which everyone talks." He said as he looked at the interiors of the cafe.

"Sir you may come tomo-"

"Is he here?" He interrupted and looked at her with a piercing gaze.

"Wh-who?" Hyun Soo felt nervous all of a sudden due to his confidence.

"Kang Yun Ju!" He yelled.

Hyun Soo shuddered at his sudden yell. She took a deep breath and said,

"Sir I think you've come to the wrong place. I don't know anyone named Kang Yun Ju working here."

"Oh really?!" Han Gyeol said and took some steps towards her.

Even after seeing him approaching her with a furious look on his face Hyun Soo didn't move at all from her place. Of course, she was afraid of this man who has entered the cafe when no one was around but, why would she let him feel that she was afraid of him.

"Do you think you can fool me? I've been searching for him like crazy and I know he is here!" He said and banged the table with his fist.

"Enough!" Hyun Soo yelled.

"Now my shift is over so you're not a customer to me anymore." She took a step forward and added further

"I don't know who on earth is Kang Yun Ju but I can bet my life on this that he isn't here now. So please get out and let me close the cafe. It's already too late."

She said in full confidence and looked in his eyes without fearing even for a minute though she was trembling inside. Han Gyeol looked at her and a smirk appeared on his face.

"You can't hide your fears and weaknesses from me." He quickly turned around and started walking towards the exit door. And before walking he warned,

"I'll come tomorrow too. Don't forget."

As he went out of the cafe Do Yun entered and saw Hyun Soo sitting on a chair, panting and looking down.

"What happened? Is everything alright?"

Hyun Soo gulped and shook her head. Do Yun came and sat in front of her on another chair.

"Nothing jus-" She inhaled deeply.

"Don't hide anything." Do Yun said with furrowed eyebrows.

"Just that weird man scared me out."

"Who? That man?" He pointed outside where Han Gyeol could be seen crossing the road.

She looked outside and nodded

"Yes, that person. He came and started asking for-" She suddenly stopped speaking as she looked at Do Yun.

"What?" He asked.

"Why- why are you wearing sunglasses at night?" Hyun Soo asked looking at Do Yun with a confused face.

"Ah, this?" He said and took them off.

"I met Aunt Sang Hyeon on my way here, she...gave me this, and told me to wear it."

"Ah!"

"Hmm, now tell me what happened?"

"Nothing just, he busted into the cafe and started asking for someone named...Kang...Kang Yun Ju."

"Kang Yun Ju?" Do Yun said and started thinking something.

"Do you...know him?" She asked.

"As far as I remember...no." Do Yun said and shook his head.

"Well, then I guess he was drunk. Whatever the reason was I don't care, I'll go now it's already too late."

Hyun Soo said and stood up while hanging her handbag on her shoulder. She moved some steps towards the exit door when Do Yun called her,

"Ms Hyun Soo..." He said.

Hyun Soo turned around and looked at him,

"As...as I'm on leave for tomorrow, so, if you need any help or guidance you may ask right away." Do Yun said to Hyun Soo looking at her confidently.

His blank gaze now makes Hyun Soo a bit nervous after what he said in the afternoon. She can't understand what he is thinking or feeling right now and this confusion makes her go crazy. Hyun Soo blinked twice and for the next minute went silent without replying anything.

Do Yun again found her staring at him and he sighed in frustration.

"I don't think you have any."

He said and started to walk towards his room.

"I!" Hyun Soo shouted which echoed in the silent cafe.

Do Yun turned around and looked at her with his widened cute eyes. Hyun Soo gulped and said in a low voice.

"I don't have right now, but I don't know about the future."

"So....can I have your number?" And her eyes got widened automatically.

What did you do, Hyun Soo? How can you be so shameless? It looks like you made an excuse to take his number! Hyun Soo cursed herself inside her mind, as she, bit her lower lip and furrowed her brows.

Do Yun put his hands in his pockets and walked towards her.

Why is he walking towards me? What is he going to do? Does he want to say something? He doesn't have a mobile phone? Or Is he going to scold me? Is he going slap me? Hyun Soo's mind was in chaos now. And that chaos increased by every step Do Yun took further.

He came to her and stretched his left hand a bit out. Hyun Soo looked at his hand and back at him.

"Are you going to give me something to feed in or are you going to stare at me all night?" Do Yun said coldly to her.

"N-no." she shook her head and reached for her phone in her small handbag. After a second she took it out, unlocked it and gave it to him,

"Here- here you go."

Do Yun looked at her phone screen and typed his number for a minute. Till then Hyun Soo looked at him trying to read his expression. His face was blank, neither he seemed happy by giving his number to her nor he seemed frustrated or enraged by her behaviour.

"It's saved now." He looked at her while giving her the phone. Hyun Soo was still looking at him and she just nodded slightly.

"I-I'll go now. Bye." Hyun Soo said and took her phone and turned around to leave.

"Ms Hyun Soo!" Do Yun once again called her out and Hyun Soo quickly turned around as if she was waiting for him to stop her.

"Yah." She said.

"Go safely." He replied politely with his blank face. She smiled slightly and nodded as a reply.

She turned around to leave and a smiled got plastered on her face, she was again blushing a bit. She looked at her phone while leaving and his number saved as 'Park Do Yun' She read it out quietly and smiled again as she held her phone with both of her hands and her eyes shined brightly.
