Chapter: Wasn't His Fault.

Do Yun has woken up today a bit earlier and welcomed the morning with a deep sigh as he kept staring at the ceiling. His big black eyes wondered about how will this day end. Though he had promised that he will meet them but he still was a bit nervous about how will he face them.

After pondering a while he finally sat upright on his bed. It hardly took him thirty minutes to fresh himself up and get ready. He was now wearing a pink lemonade coloured hoodie under which was a long white collared shirt along with a pair of black pants and his as usual white sneakers. His hair was well combed like a two-year-old kid but he still managed to look stunning.

He took the bus as he saw the time,

"She must have arrived for work by now." He whispered thinking about Hyun Sol as he saw his phone screen showing 8'o clock.

After almost travelling for around thirty minutes more he finally reached his destination. His heart was nervous as so was his eyes. He started walking towards a small restaurant where he was to meet them.

As soon as he entered the restaurant he saw them seated already. He went towards them and before he could even say anything the lady seating there stood up and hugged him tightly,

"Do Yun-ah!" She exclaimed.

Her eyes let the stream of tears flow down as she hugged his son after a long time.

"M-mom!" He whispered lightly.

Little did he missed them too but he knew that keeping distances from them was the best decision he has ever made in his life.

"Oh, Do Yun! How have you been? Do you know how much I missed you?"

"Come sit." His dad said and they sat facing each other making a triangle.

"What would you like to eat, Do Yun. Order anything you want." His father said.

"D-da-dad." Do Yun looked at his dad as his dad looked at him with his eyes full of affection. Both of them were on the verge of crying when all of a sudden Do Yun said,

"You've grown old now, why do you have so many wrinkles?"

Three of them laughed as his mother wiped out her tears.

"You. You made me old. You made me do too much of searches and work for you and I ended up like this."

His dad's attempt to joke back didn't lighten the mood. Do Yun looked at the table as he heard his dad while his mother glared at her husband.

"Ah! Tch! You still don't know what to say where." His mother said being frustrated which made Do Yun chuckle.

"You both are still the same."

"Same? No no, your dad has gotten even worse now." Her mother teased his dad and they all laughed.

They talked for hours like they use to meet every day. In between all those conversations none of them even mentioned about why Do Yun left the house or where did he live after leaving the house.

Do Yun kept quiet as he thought bringing that topic up, would only hurt his parents and he didn't want to make them feel miserable. While his parents never asked him anything about the last few years as they felt that this topic would only make Do Yun feel guilty, of course, they didn't want to make their son feel guilty while they had met just an hour ago after years.

When it was almost evening and they talked and laughed too much about different things, suddenly Do Yun asked,

"But-" He paused.

"How did you both find me?"

Both his parents looked at each other and his mother replied,

"Well, you remember this girl named Ae-

"Why does it even matter?" His dad interrupted and laughed awkwardly.

"It's nice since we've found ya! Now no going back to the past about what happened and how happened." He added.

Do Yin nodded as he looked at his interlocked finger at the table, he inhaled lightly and asked again,

"How is grandma?"

As soon as he asked this question his parents went quite. Do Yun found it suspicious, little did he sensed that something was wrong and so, he inquired further,

"What is this silence? Please speak up!"

"About that, Do Yun-" Her mother tried to explain.

"Dad! Please tell me!" He looked at him as his brows furrowed.

His dad looked at him and said,

"Do Yun, the thing is..." He took a pause and looked at the table and back at Do Yun whose eyes asked multiple questions.

"Grandma died the next day when you left. She wasn't about to bear the truth that you know that you're...you're adopted."

Do Yun hit back in his chair as he heard his father's words.

"What?" Was all he was able to whisper after hearing the bitter truth.

"Do Yun-ah." His mother tried to console him.

"This wasn't because of you, don't listen to dad." And she again glared at her husband.

"She loved me the most and I- I left her all alone." He whispered within himself looking at the table.

"N- no Do Yun-ah. Do Yun-ah wait." His mother tried to stop his son who was about to leave the restaurant.

"Do Yun come back home, it's empty without you. Won't you listen to your mom?" She tried to stop him after asking him to fulfil her one wish.

Do Yun turned his neck on the right side, from the corner of his eye he could his mom standing behind him.

"I've troubled you enough. I can't put your lives in danger." And he left the cafe.

"Do yun! Do Yun, wait! It wasn't your fault!" Her mom went outside following him while his dad sat there alone, lost somewhere.

"I'm sorry Do Yun, I know I'm being selfish." His father whispered as a tear flowed down his eye.

Outside his mother tried to approach him but he was now nowhere to be seen.

"Do Yun-ah!" She called him out but there was no response.

She ended up squatting and wailing. She wasn't even able to ask how had he been all these years. She wasn't even able to hug him one last time. She kept wailing there in the cold wind when all of a sudden his husband came and said,

"Let's go, you might catch a cold."

She stood up and hugged his husband tightly and said,

"Ask him to come back, tell him it wasn't his fault."

His husband caressed her hair and said,

"He won't even if we request, so let's just go. He won't like it if he sees you crying here."

She nodded slightly while her years didn't stop and they went their way to home.

Here Hyun Soo was working when all of a sudden her phone rang. She looked at the screen and the name written on it made her eyes widen up.

"Park Do Yun!" She whispered.

She took a deep breath closing her eyes for a second and picked up the call.

"He-llo," She said in a low voice.

"Ms Hyun Soo speaking?" A deep and calm voice replied from the other side.

"Yes?"

"Park Do Yun this side." He said.

"Ah! Yes, Mr Park Do Yun."

"Do you...need to ask anything?" Hyun Soo asked being clueless about why did Do Yun call her.

"Umm..." Do Yun cleared his throat.

"Just...wanted to ask if everything is going right or not."

"Ah, that! Yeah...everything is perfect here, don't be worried."

Hyun Soo's low voice made Do Yun smile slightly. His eyes were flooded with tears but he still his lips managed to smile without letting him know.

But then suddenly he shook his head and cleared his throat again,

"Okay then, I'll be back by evening."

He said and ended the phone call right away.

Hyun Soo found it strange,

"He called me just to ask if everything was alright?" she inhaled deeply with furrowed brows and said further,

"It's strange."

But then soon she got busy when a customer arrived.

She didn't look up at whom it was,

"Welcome to the cafe what would you like to have." She asked politely to the person standing in from of her.

But the customer replied in a deep voice,

"Did you forget? I said I'll be back tomorrow too?..."
