Chapter 63 - Don’t be afraid

That hand was already on Liu Yusheng's neck.

With just a gentle twist, her neck would have been broken.

Liu Yusheng Bing breathed and looked at Laizi in fear, her large black and white eyes filled with fear and pleading.

This look made Laizi become even more excited, and also made him relax his guard.

It was at this instant that Liu Yusheng suddenly made her move, ruthlessly plunging a golden needle in her hand into one of Laizi's acupuncture points.

That acupuncture point could cause one to lose strength at once.

As the golden needle pricked his acupuncture point, Laizi screamed, and his hand that gripped Liu Yusheng's neck dropped limply. He collapsed on the ground bodily, looking at Liu Yusheng in disbelief.

"Ande! Get her now! This little bitch, I can't believe she used a diversion on me! Go on, grab and kill her! We must not let her escape! Otherwise, if our deeds spread out, it'll be the two of us who'll die!"

When Laizi screamed, Ande turned around and saw him on the ground, while the little baby quickly leaned back against the stone wall, holding a strange little knife in both hands, watching them warily. It was unbelievable. Neither of them had expected such a tiny toddler to have the strength to fight back!

What was even stranger was the knife in her hand. Where did it come from? Was this the knife she used to break free from the bondage?

"What are you standing there for, Ande? Come on! This little bitch had been pretending before. She must have cut the ropes long ago! Damn it! I can't believe she's been pretending in front of me for so long without being noticed! At this age and with this kind of sophisticated shrewdness, are you still going to be soft on her?" Laizi was lying on the ground, pressing one hand on the acupuncture point that had been pierced by the golden needle, shouting and cursing furiously.

Ande regained his senses and was in total agreement with Laizi.

They both underestimated this little child. Now, they absolutely couldn't let her go!

Ande charged towards Liu Yusheng, wanting to subdue her in the shortest possible time, but was afraid of that strange knife. He thought of how to take that knife out of her hands.

Liu Yusheng pursed her lips tightly, staring at Ande, who was only two steps away from her. She was afraid and anxious deep inside, didn't dare to show it on the surface, afraid that if she showed weakness, she would be deemed harmless.

By then, she'd have even less chance of escaping.

Sadly, she was too small. Being able to injure a Laizi before was a preemptive strike that took him by surprise. Now that her opponent has his guard up against her, there was no way she could succeed.

But if she didn't get rid of Ander as soon as possible, her situation would become even more dangerous once Laizi regained strength.

What should I do? How can I save myself?

For the first time, Liu Yusheng regretted so much why she didn't learn to concoct poisons before.

She wasted all that time on a bunch of white-eyed wolves for nothing!

Otherwise, with all that time, it would have been enough for her to have made a name in the field of poison. She wouldn't have been so constrained now.

Across from her, Ande was also pondering what method to use to tackle the little baby down as quickly as possible.

In between thoughts, the corner of his eyes inadvertently caught sight of a few pieces of gravel scattered under the corner of the cave wall. His eyes flickered, and he moved quietly towards that spot.

Then he picked up the stones and threw them at Liu Yusheng without warning.

Caught off guard by the sudden stone attack, Liu Yusheng subconsciously dodged. In just this one wobbly moment, her two small hands were clamped down in a death grip, unable to move.

In the blink of an eye, Ande seized the scalpel and the golden needle in her hands.

"Hahaha! Little girl, you think you can escape! Duh, don't waste time. Kill her and let's go down." Laizi, who was lying on the ground, laughed, his voice filled with killing intent, dark and vicious.

Upon hearing this, Ande's eyes darkened, and with the scalpel in his hand, he slashed at Liu Yusheng's neck.

This was enough to slit Liu Yusheng's throat and kill her alive!

At this moment, Liu Yusheng could actually see the cold glint refracted from the scalpel in the dim light, coming straight at her neck!

The pupils dilated to the extreme.

It was as if she saw the scythe of death, closing in on her, and in the next moment, would be her death.

Despair spread in Liu Yusheng's heart.

What flew through her mind was the familiar faces of her family.

There was the smiling face of Grandpa, the loving eyes of Grandma, the gentle hand of Mother, and the broad shoulders of Father.

Plus, the smiling faces of her brothers surrounding her.

And Axiu, who looked at her with eyes more charming than the starry sky of a midsummer night.

She thought that in this life, she would finally get the happiness she had dreamed of. She had also vowed that she would do everything she could to cherish what she had in this life.

Unfortunately, her fate wasn't as good as it should be.

In the end, she was unable to accompany them to their old age.

With her eyes open, she watched the scalpel fall on her neck, and a pale smile appeared on the corner of her mouth.

The cold glint of the scalpel drew an arc in the air.

However, that cold sensation didn't reach Liu Yusheng's erect neck.

Instead, Ande's burly body slowly fell down before her eyes.

At the mouth of the cave, a figure slowly walked towards her against the light.

He was thin and familiar, and made her eyes hot.

She struggled up and lunged at the figure, "Brother Axiu!"

She cried out, wrapping her little arms around his waist, burying her whole body in his arms, smelling the familiar reassuring scent of him. All her fear, trepidation and despair vanished in an instant.

Whenever he was present, she was somehow at ease.

Even if, like her, he was just a child.

Axiu's face was hidden in the shadows, and his expression was unreadable.

Hands gently cradled the little child in his arms, jerkily and clumsily caressing her back with a light pat, "Shengsheng, don't be afraid, I'm here."

His tone was soft, thoroughly steady and could be counted on.

However, his dark eyes that were trained on Laizi and Ande were darker than the darkest place within this cave. It was even fathomless, without the least bit of a glimmer.

"Brother Axiu, are you the only one who came? Where are my grandparents, my father and mother? They must be worried about me. Where are they? Are they all searching for me?"

As long as he was around, Liu Yusheng would turn into a chattering little girl, talking non-stop.

This was something that even she didn't realize.

She was most relaxed any time she was in front of Axiu.

Axiu nodded and hugged Liu Yusheng tightly, then patted her back and coaxed, "They're all worried about you and are looking for you. I'll bring you back soon. Listen, Shengsheng. Wait for me at the entrance first, okay?"

"Brother Axiu, what are you going to do? I don't want to be out there alone, so you must come with me." Liu Yusheng shook her head, refusing to go out outside by herself.

She wasn't afraid that she would be in danger again. She was afraid that, once again, Axiu would be unable to control his demons.

She didn't want him to turn into a demon, manipulated by violence for her sake.
