Slowly but surely they were fully opened, but he didn't seem surprised at all… He just looked casually around as if nothing happened. He said something to Finn, he answered, and then the goblin started returning to me.
"Estel, need knife." He nodded, I just gave him the knife immediately. I'm pretty sure that with his help we could try and escape, but I can't move freely around those rocks. Won't be able to do it for too long. The stalactites and stalagmites both are almost clinging to each other almost like the teeth of a monster trying to eat us.
The goblin went back to Estel and gave him the knife, I saw his cage swinging left and right with him trying to cut through. Finn was just looking at him, but what else can he do? Just watch. He cut through those strings a lot faster than I did, he is well trained and I am not. He slowly wiggled out of the cage and as he did he went to me together with the small goblin.
"You okay?" The elf asked and looked around the whole place trying to see if the spiders are not back. Why was he not surprised? And how did he get up so quickly? It took me some minutes to actually even try to wiggle around but he just did it like that… So weird.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Nothing hurts very much besides my stomach and… Head." That's actually not very 'fine' but now it's just too late to say anything else.
"Try to get out. We need to wake the other up before the spiders come." When he said those words the same sound of the barkers hitting each other could be heard in the distant void of stalactites and stalagmites.
"Quick! You have to go back!" I said loudly with my teeth closed from fear.
"I don't have enough time! It's thirty meters!" He answered in the same fashion. "Let me go in your cage!" Estel added and Finn was looking at us as if we were idiots.
"This no spider. This two stones hitting." He looked at us and almost smiled. We both stopped and looked at each other. A big stone fell off our hearts, we gasped loudly.
"We don't know when they will come back and if they do we are done." This is the sad reality, we can't do anything.
"If we won't risk now, we will never. Let's go." He looked me dead in the eyes, he is very sure of what we are going to do. He is just right, can't say anything back actually.
"I can't deny it. Let's just go." I crumbled out of the cage and got onto the 'teeth' of the cave. It's far less exhausting than I thought it would be, the stones are pretty close to each other so it's easy to move between them.
"Good choice." He answered and so we headed to Marcus who could help us a lot in this situation. He was a little far but was still visible from my cage, all three of us went there. It was around five minutes of sheer uncertainty because of the big spiders. Those red eyes seemed almost like those of the imperial, I don't want to meet those once again. We were getting to the demon and I was almost able to grab the spiderweb.
"Can you try to wake him up?" We both asked Finn since he is not sticking to that web. His hands were also able to go through since they were a lot smaller than ours. The green hands then started shaking the cocoon, I don't get how such a small body can move an almost whole body together with the weight of this cocoon. I know that it's hanging and its weight is reduced by it, that doesn't matter though.
It took much more time than it did with Estel, are those weird hallucinations the reason for it? I woke up on my own though… What did Estel see? And what is Marcus seeing… Maybe both of them were in their dreams? Therefore because I don't have that kind of a dream, I just left it. Maybe that's the reason, I will have to talk with them about it once we will be free of all this. Did a day pass? I don't know anymore. How long were we in that hallucination…
After about four minutes of him straight up poking him, his voice finally could be heard. He yawned pretty loudly.
"Mom… Let me sleep longer, please. Father… You too let me…" He yawned after every part of that sentence. We looked at him stunned and at the break of laughing, but it wasn't the time for it. Now we need to escape another hole in already one hole. Marcus completely woke up and stared at us like an idiot. "Have you heard any of that? Where are we?" He asked and we were again at the brink of laughing.
"Yeah, man. But it's not time to laugh at anything. We are in the cave of spiders man, we need your help. You probably know those monsters the best." He really quickly caught the situation.
"I see, those spiders are probably night hunters. You see, they live in this dark cave so the daylight probably could scorch them to death. They would go blind at the sight of almost any light at this point." He quickly explained and then took the knife from Estel.
"They are also incredibly large," I added with my pointing finger up.
"I noticed that by the size of this net and the amount of them, but thank you." Oh yeah… He is a hunter. It makes sense for him to be able to know those things. Until now from the three of us he was the quickest to actually cut the strings. It took him literally seconds maybe six of seven, I don't know what's the difference. Is it because of the angle? Or something else counting to technic?
"We need to get the rest of our team. The problem is, we don't see them." Estel started looking around at the small holes between the rocks.
"We can't split out though can we? It wouldn't make much sense." Marcus also joined him looking around trying to find any spots.
"Group, better." I realized that until now Finn was only staring at us talking. "We fight chance." He added and also looked around.
"Okay then, let's just try to stick together and find someone." We immediately started going around trying to find anyone from the cave, anyone I mean the only two people left. Matthew and Bog, the goliath and the dwarf, the two people left to find. We can't risk rescuing anyone else besides the people from our cave.
Walking around the cave felt very sloppy since there was very little place between the spikes. Finn was the first one since he could move the fastest, right behind Marcus then Estel and at the very end me. The pace was very slow but there is no other way to jump between them with at least this very low amount of safety. The hardest to find no matter what will be probably Bog because he is dark skinned. Not to offense or anything but it will be hard to spot him in this already dark cave.
Slowly but surely we started increasing the pace and went smoother than before. I think it was another three minutes, around that probably. And I slowly started hearing the giant spiders moving.
"Shit! We need to hide guys. They probably won't look at the very bottom but then going back up will be a lot harder." Marcus with his very big knowledge about those kinds of places said.
"Is there another way?" I don't think there is a chance of me coming back up when I go down there. There is no confirmation that I will.
"I don't think that there is any other right now. It's either fall down or get eaten, I would rather go down." Estel came in stopping Marcus from an exhausting explanation. There is no other choice… Let's do it. If there is nothing else we can do right now I can try this out. Maybe they can help me? I don't know. But I want to have higher chances of survival.
"Let's slide down." Marcus nodded and we all besides Finn started slowly descending down the wall of these very big spikes. At the very bottom it was really dark, so dark there is actually nothing. Like an empty void, how many times have I seen it? Four times? And each time it didn't end well… The spiders crawling right above us seem to also be very heavy, the spikes are shaking.
"Why were we asleep though?" I asked the void since Marcus and Estel couldn't be seen.
"Hallucinating powers?" One of them answered but I wasn't sure who.
"Why aren't we asleep now then?" Again asked that dark whirl of nothingness.
"They can't use it too often." A sure voice answered it must be Marcus. That doesn't make much sense… I hope they can't smell as good as they see. Can spiders even smell?
