Sword fight

"We are about to train sword fighting. I am using a two handed sword and Estel is using two swords." I answered and looked at the black skinned man that seemed to smile and got interested in the topic in that manner.

"Well, I am not a real sword fighter but I know some things. Can I watch you?" He answered to me and we nodded, I don't see anything against him watching us train.

We both took our tools to train and left the cave to train outside this time, the weather was much warmer but the dark sky didn't change back to its normal cyan colors. Ever since the bear died it was like that, or even earlier when we were at the fountain. But now that the fountain was actually deemed fake so that weird memory is now completely valid…

Bog sat down on a tree that was laying on the ground. The cut down tree, that wasn't there before, someone cut it before? It doesn't matter too much at this point, I need to train. My mind as well… The hallucinations, the thoughts creating some things that were never there actually. It's so weird… But what can I do with it? I can only endure the pain of my own mind deceiving me on every step that I make.

"You said you know something about fighting right?" Estel asked while looking at Bog suspiciously, probably wanting to know if he can teach him a thing as well if there is a thing he doesn't know.

"I saw people fight with swords quite a lot in my life so I probably know some things but can't do them myself." He explained while making a stare back at the elf that was stretching his arms right now.

"Interesting." The elf answered with a single word that seemed to make him look at the fight even more.

It was a very short moment where we in the same instance were standing in our position prepared to launch an attack at each other almost as if we were ferocious beasts. Just like two tigers that were about to kill their prey, but in this fight, I am the young tiger about to get taught how to hunt by the adult animal.

Malice in the air, sweat under my forehead being there from the moment of uncertainty. When will he attack? what second? Who will start? Me or him… I don't know myself. Whoever starts, starts whoever follows will fight. This moment went on for about ten seconds and when I took a very short glimpse of Bog's face, the expression on it seemed to be impressed. Just the positions can be interesting enough?

Then, we started. He was the one to start this time, with a small jump and a winded up attack from the right. My 'blade' on the right side prepared to block the attack from the high right. But once it got closer he swooped the attack to the left keeping the momentum of the first swing. That took me off guard and I had to dodge it instead, which seemed harder than I thought. The balance was lost and overall my perception was altered by the unpredictable way the blade swung. Bog's face was very surprised as he probably wasn't able to predict that kind of motion from someone that uses two swords and at that short swords.

I almost fell but was still able to stand because of the one leg that was behind this time. Prepared to attack back with a swing from behind my back, a long wind up but from time to time even attacks like that are convenient because it could go through someone's block.

The swing in the air still flying in the air about to attack Estel who was already prepared to block, but I also didn't want to be read so easily. I jumped back and my sword with me was now prepared to launch a thrust right into his heart. The swing was still there for a very short moment so the thrust also went to the right. Estel wasn't able to predict me remaking his move, his face pretty shocked since he was not predicting it at all. Nothing. He was almost hit by the stick in my hands, he was able to dodge at the last second though. Not even a scratch on his almost naked body.

The thrust was just a little too strong and when I was still in the thrusting motion Estel was able to make a pirouette in the same moment and the swords were about to hit me. I was able to jump over the attack since to dodge it he had to duck to the left. That's why I could jump over it, I couldn't make a swing from up to down or right to left in any way so I really had to just run back to not get caught off guard.

Bog's face was even more impressed with every single motion we've made since the beginning of the fight. When my feet once again met the ground, Estel once again was in the motion to attack. I had to dodge, his swing coming from the left heading to slash my body vertically. This one was very easy to dodge and since from his position there is no chance for him to change the way his swing goes, I also started moving to attack. Slashing horizontally this time so from his crouching position he either has to be just high enough or lay on the ground so that he wouldn't be touched.

Estel's swords… I just realized that they are exactly as he described them. The colors of red and black covering his swords, my sword? Was still just the steel sword with nothing from what I saw before. No golden middle nor guard, no yellow striped handle, and no silver blade, just a regular army sword. Why is that? Why is my sword now only like this… It seems that even Estel is surprised by it. Why it wasn't in the colors again.

That distracted me and at this moment I got hit by Estel. I completely submerged in my own sweat and Estel not even breaking one. Does he have an infinite amount of stamina or something? He didn't sweat at all through this short fight and from the longer one before. Even attacking that bear didn't exhaust him enough.

"I don't understand… Why did the sword not change?" I asked the two of them looking at me sitting on the ground.

"Well, probably I am not someone that would activate the sword. Or you only created it but you are yet to learn how to use it." Estel answered I am yet to learn how to activate it…

"The thing that defines a warrior is not the blade but the way he wields it. Bog said out of nowhere. "You got distracted by it. Why is the sword like this and not that, that's why you lost. You thought too much about it. Therefore those words came to my mind." It seems that Bog interested Estel as well, he looked into his hands and the blades that defined his being, defined why he is still on the cold earth and not dead somewhere… Anywhere…

"Those words… I remember them. My master mentioned something like this a long time ago. The very first time we met and the moment I first got my hands on training the way of the sword properly. He said those exact words when I fought him with a stick just like we are doing it right now." He was still looking at his opened palm, a very weird sight. I accepted what happened before in the cell, his breakout, the insane thing that happened… Completely accepted it as it also happened to me. It's not hard to lose yourself…

"Then your master must've been a very smart person," Bog added and stood up looking at us. Me still on the ground and Estel in his default standing position with the swords hanging down, he looked at us and his face seemed very sorrowful for a short time.

"He was… But isn't anymore." He gasped out loud and sat down on the log where Bog sat before, the very same log, covered in a frosty barrier.

"Estel… Why did you start using two swords?" I asked him before Bog was able to say anything else. I guess he wanted to also train with me a little even though he isn't an experienced fighter. Maybe I will have a chance? He made a gesture to Estel and then the elf threw his stave at him.

"When I fought you weaponless, I just realized something… The two swords suit me more actually. I realized it only when I fought without any weapons." The explanation came out of his mind and took a deep breath. He wants to explain it a little more.
