Finding Old Friends (2)

Amora was excited and entered the Junkyard. Inside, she could see the cats all over the place. A lot of them were cleaning themselves or each other. Some cats had kittens with them, as Amora continued walking, she noticed how loud the cats all purring was.

None of them were afraid at all. Amora walked up to one and pet it's head. It looked up and calmly meowed, closing its eyes as if loving every moment of the attention. Amora then continued looking for the cat Clover was described as looking Orange-ish with some white lines.

Amora turned around to see a cat matching the description staring at her. It begins speaking.

"Hey kiddo? Are you lost?" Amora stood up and said, "Clover! No way!" She picked Clover up and Clover just smiled, purring calmly.

"Me and my parents are here to speak with you, well... they need to." Clover's pupils widened.

"Wait. Leon and Reyon? They found you?!" Clover jumped out of Amora's grasp and began jumping around, bringing the other cats to join in this strange ritual.

Leon walked up and began speaking with Clover as Amora, Andrew, and Aya, all lay on a pile of garbage. Cats are spread out on top of them. A black cat lay on Amora's chest, breathing slowly as it rested. Aya has a white cat on her that is very playful, and Andrew has a calico cat on his chest, it is lightly swiping at his nose, being very cute.

Amora sighed and continued petting the soft cat. She couldn't help but remember a time when Darkness had pretended to be a cat. He had somehow transformed into one and Amora, (being only 8) was very amused by this.

"No." Amora thought to herself. "I'm never going back and I will never see him again. It's only for the best."

The black cat stood up and stretched as if it'd heard Amora's emotions. It walked in a circle for a minute and laid down, looking up at Amora peacefully and quietly.

Pain. It was all over inside Amora's head now, amplifying and stretching around. Like the cat, only not as cute.

"Amora, I never lied to you. I told you the truth about everything. I did save you from a bad thing, just not that something that would happen that day, but four years after that day." Darkness was speaking to her through her mind, and she knew it was because of the Dark Matter on her arm. Amora played it off as if nothing was happening as Andrew was now looking over curiously.

"Everything alright?" he asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

"Are you sure? You look a little angry." He said, without much hesitation.

"I know, I'm just a little confused," Amora replied calmly as if she could mask her anger.

"About what?" Andrew pressed on with his questions.

"Nothing. I kinda forgot." Amora said, turning her attention back to the black cat on her lap. She began petting it softly and even in its sleep it began to purr in response.

Amora hadn't noticed it before but the air didn't smell musty or rotten. It smelt like fresh rain, cicadas buzzing loudly in the background and slight heat pouring down on them from above. An average day, with strange circumstances. Aya appeared to have passed out on the garbage pile while Amora stared at the clouds above. Andrew however was just on his phone. The clouds passing by were soothing, satisfying. It'd be winter soon, and snow would come down gently as if dancing.

"Hey, it's time to go now." Amora's focus on the winter was interrupted abruptly by Andrew who pointed at Leon, who was waving them over. As if the cat knew, it got up and went back to its family.

Amora walked over after waving at the cat. Aya finally woke up and scared her cat, which then ran from her. She got up and ran over.

Amora listened as Leon explained the next person as always cold. Amora instantly knew and was very excited to learn more about The Only Living Ice Elemental. For some reason over the years, Ice Elementals who had children noticed that their child was not receiving an element, or if they did, it was never ice, and so all other Ice Elementals died, with Avian being the last one. (At least for now...)
