Finding Old Friends (3)

"Amora... I'm sorry." Aya said, not looking at her, red and ashamed. "I just... overreacted. I didn't mean anything I said." Amora smiled and felt relieved. "I know you didn't, I just thought you'd still be mad at me so... I just didn't say anything." As Amora was speaking, Aya grabbed her hand and unwrapped the bandage, she then begins healing the wound she caused Amora.

"Your healing... it's quite slow isn't it?" Aya asked.

"I suppose so... nothing like my father's speed," Amora said, feeling a little disappointed.

"Not yet it isn't but soon? It might be." Aya said, reassuring Amora, which kinda made Amora hope for an amazing future.

"Right," Amora said, smiling. They all got into the car and waited for another drive. Calm pop songs were playing on the radio as raindrops began plopping down on the window. "This just might be the last rain we get before the snow comes!" Reyon said while looking outside cheerfully.

Right... snow.

"Just throw it farther! You got this!" Amora lugged another snowball at Darkness. It goes right over his head and she sighs. "I'm bad at throwing!" When suddenly a snowball hits her square in the face. She stands there for a moment and pushes the snow off. "Okay, that's it!" Amora picks up more snow and throws it, it hits Darkness right in the chest and he laughs. "See! You got it! You could join Baseball again!" He said, hyping her up. "Nah, I got bored of that quickly... plus there aren't many girl players so I got put on the boy's team and this guy named Andrew does too well... he and another boy... Cole, I believe? He runs quickly and we can't catch him on the bases, even if we throw it quick enough." Darkness smirks and says, "I guess that's a good excuse." Amora was appalled, replying with: "An excuse? No way! It's the truth!"

"Why do I remember him like he's a good person or something?" Amora wondered to herself. "After kidnapping me and deceiving me for years..." Everyone was getting out of the car and Amora could see Avian sitting next to a laundry mat. He seems to have known they were coming. Amora wasn't able to talk to Avian. Leon walked up and got straight to business. Amora and Andrew entered the building.

"Ah! This smell... I forgot how much I liked it." Andrew exclaimed.

"Yeah, laundry smells quite nice being dried for some reason," Amora replied. They both stare at the roof blankly, as if they were some kind of exciting stars, twinkling down on them with such glee and style, sparkling and dancing around, knowing their time to shine is at night.

The boring ceiling came back into view just in time for Andrew to say: "Hey... do you think we can somehow be safer?" This surprised Amora greatly, especially since Andrew had comforted her earlier on about how Leon and Reyon would protect them. "No, I think my parents are our only options. He won't attack us in plain sight... otherwise, we'd all... be dead."

Andrew nods and orders something from the snack machine for Amora. "Huh? Oh, thanks!" Amora could see that it was potato chips, especially her favorite brand. "You used to bring these to lunch all the time for a long time at school."

"What?!" Amora said, feeling really embarrassed.

"Yep!" Andrew said mid-laugh.

"That's really true..." Amora said, not realizing her old habit until now.

"Amora, when we get home... I want to show you something I found." Andrew said, avoiding eye contact as if his life depended on not showing his eyes. "Huh? What is it?" Amora asked, feeling a little suspicious. "I cannot tell you now... please just trust me with this." Amora did trust Andrew and agreed to go with him whenever they get back home... but what was the tingling doubt in Amora... why did she feel nervous? "What is going on? Why was that so sudden?" She wondered... "why didn't he tell me earlier on about the thing he wants to show me?"
