Show Me

"There's no time right now," Andrew said, walking away from Amora, just as he had been doing with her questions.

"Why not?" Amora was extremely confused by Andrew's behavior, this wasn't like him. "You told me when we-"

"I know... but we need to wait until night-time. Midnight to be exact. Then I promise we can go."

"But... go where? You still haven't explained that yet." Amora felt hurt and betrayed. "Why won't he trust me?" Amora caught herself wondering as Andrew stopped walking and turned around to face Amora on the stairs.

"I promise you. I will tell you when the time comes, but right now, it'd be of no use to you." Andrew sighed and stepped down to be leveled with Amora.

"I really do want to show you, but if I were to show you now... it wouldn't work the same."

And with that, Andrew continued his climb up the stairs and disappeared around the corner, most likely heading to his bedroom.

"The bedroom he shared... with Jackson." Amora thought to herself, feeling a tinge of regret and loneliness.

Hours seemed to pass as Amora lay on her bed silently, Aya sleeping soundly nearby. Amora could see the clock read Midnight so she stood up, feeling like something bad was about to happen, that she would fall through the floor and into a pit of despair.

Turning around, she headed out of her room, went into the living room, and to the door. While slipping on her boots and jacket, she could hear Andrew's footsteps above as he headed to and down the stairs.

"Let's go." He said as he approached Amora. She felt a little strange. "Why at night? What does he have to show me? What is this all about?" thoughts rushed through Amora's head, with each one bringing more pain and doubt.

"C'mon, let's go, Amora," Andrew said not even trying to hide how mad he was at her for some reason. "Right. Sorry." Amora said as she proceeded out the door after Andrew.

Stumbling down the steps, she continued to follow him through the forest, in which a slight breeze appeared, bringing a cold chill to Amora's entire body. She began to take off her gloves and conjure fire into her palm, which seemingly did more than the thin blue gloves.

"We're almost there," Andrew said as if rehearsing a play script. "You've said that four times now," Amora said, losing hope.

"Yeah."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Okay then," Amora replied, still not understanding why he was being so unfair and rude.

Reyon's words about how it was going to snow soon popped into her head. How cold it suddenly was just seemed to prove her right, but how long would it be before that first snowflake dances it's way to the ground? Amora could only wonder.

Andrew continued into a small abandoned church, hidden away by trees, which made it almost impossible to see from Amora's home.

"This place was here all along?" Amora asked.

"Yeah, and I found it recently," Andrew said as he opened the door, inviting himself inside.

Amora followed behind slowly and soon she heard the door close behind her, but before she could turn, she was struck with something cold and blunt, the force of the object threw her to the floor and she couldn't move. The only thing she could do was whimper in pain as someone dragged her away and Andrew watched.

"A-Andrew?" Amora managed to say, not understanding the current situation.

"I'm sorry Amora, but I really do need your elements. I know. I know. It's hard for me to explain. I'm sorry."

That's all he could say to her before she was dragged down some stone stairs and thrown into a basement. The other person left her there.

"The floor is cold... my head and heart are throbbing and hurt, my fingers are freezing and I feel blood on my head..." Amora thought to herself, wondering why she couldn't get up. Minutes passed, seeming like hours until Amora was finally able to lift herself from the floor and look around.

Despite being dark all around, there was a faint green glow behind her. Turning around she could see a huge tube filled with a liquid, and inside... was Cole Peters himself.

Amora fell backward, trying her best not to scream, that's when a sudden realization hit her, the memories of Andrew not liking Cole, his reaction to Cole's Missing Paper, and how Andrew had betrayed her... what was it all for... how could he receive her elements?

As if on queue, somebody opened the basement door and their shoes clicked on their way down. Amora could tell it was Andrew and she decided her best option would be to hide behind the tube. She hid low and quiet, waiting for him to pass by. He finally did, but it seemed he was searching for her.

"Amora? Please make this easier and come here!" Andrew yelled, his voice echoing, bringing more fear to Amora.

Amora finally took her chances and exited through the basement door, she instantly hid behind a pew and held her breath. There was an old man by the podium in the front. He seemed to be setting something up and didn't notice Amora.

Amora could recognize the old man as the one who had waved to them before on the hill. Everything was so strange and nothing was adding up for her. She only knew that she must stay calm, no matter what came to mind.

Amora started toward the door and was just about there when a hand wrapped around her mouth and pulled her back, despite her efforts to scream and fight back, she had been (once again) dragged into the basement. The person let her go and she rolled over and kicked them in the stomach.

It was Andrew and he backed up in pain. He opened his palm and sharp pieces of paper flew at Amora, she got hit by a couple, causing small scratches, but she projects a small flame in front of her and waved her hand back and forth to burn the papers before they reached her.

"Why?! Why would you do this?! Everything was okay! I don't understand!" Amora's rant continued onward until Andrew yelled over her rant.

"Shut up! I need your elements, and my grandfather is the only one who can take it and give it to me!" He replied coldly.

Amora didn't want to believe it. It didn't make any sense.

"No." The only word that came out of Amora's mouth was "No." Her tone blank and dark.

"You have no choice!" Andrew said, seeming frustrated.

With a sudden flick, Amora threw fire into Andrew's chest, sending him backward onto his back, slightly sliding back and slumping against a wall. He started to get up but Amora threw fire again, and again.

Andrew stopped getting up and instead just sat there, quietly, until he spoke through his tears. "Let's... just go home..."

Amora feeling calm now, began crawling toward him.

"We can somehow... fix this," Amora whispered as she reached him and put her arm around him for a hug. Amora felt her hand heating up and before she could move it away from Andrew, her fire element activated and her palm summoned a sword made of fire, from Amora's position, the sword was summoned and driven through Andrew's chest and into his heart. His eyes grew wide and Amora moved her hand quickly in a panic. Andrew slumped over and stopped moving.

"Andrew? Hey... w-wait." She started shaking him, not wanting to learn the truth, but inside, deep down, she knew...

That Andrew was now dead, and it was all her fault.
