"Hey look over there."
"Wow are they celebs or something."
"They look so good."
"Maybe they are shooting movie, I don't see any cameras though."
"They must be a celebrity couple."
Those the few silent comments made the people in the park who had been gazing at us since we entered. It was clearly evident that even though we tried not to we stood out. It was so bad that ended up walking in an awkward silence.
"I'm sorry this." She broke the silence.
"Huh."
"I didn't realised we'd stand out so much, maybe we should leave."
"No, it was bound to happen just ignore them."
"Are you sure, you've been quiet so I thought their gazes were getting to you."
"Honestly, I'm used to standing out and attraction, if not Lis would basically get Sett to take me everywhere.
"As for being quiet… its more like I don't know what say to you."
"What?"
"Yeah, it has been three years after all and I didn't leave on the best note, honestly when I came back I wasn't expecting you wanting to see, I thought you'd be mad at me."
"I was but then I got over it after Lis explained why you did what you did."
"She did?"
My heart shook hearing that, I wondered what Lis had told her hoping she hadn't said something that would involve her too deeply in my secrets. But thinking more carefully I realized if Lis had told her anything she wouldn't have involved her too much.
"She said it had something to do with your parents and their murders."
I guess I was right.
"Oh yeah, something like that. But still I'm sorry, what I did wasn't right."
"Its fine, it's in the past beside this is our first time out in such a long we shouldn't spend it apologising."
"You're right."
I scratched my head. Just the something came flying in towards Xayah's face; I caught it just a few inches from her face thanks to my fast reflexes. She gasped in surprised since a frisbee came out of nowhere almost crashing in her face.
"Thanks."
"When did walking in the park become so dangerous." I scoffed.
A pair of children, a boy and girl, rushed in our direction. They looked to be in their early teens. Stopping in front of us they bowed.
"We're sorry."
"Huh, is this yours," Xayah said taking the frisbee from my hand.
"Y—Yes."
"You really should be careful okay, I almost got hurt."
"Yes we will."
"Here." Handing it over to them.
"Thank you."
"Anyways where are your parents and what are you guys doing here alone."
"We are here with are our grandma Yi on a date."
"Oh a date was it."
"Yes," the little boy reaffirmed. He looked between me and her before asking, "Are you two also on a date?"
Xayah blushed a little from the question maybe she didn't expect it or was rather shy to answer.
"Max!" the girl yelled.
"Its fine. You could say it something like that."
Should I be thanking this kid, I got to see a rather cute side of Xayah. Also thanks to his out of nowhere question I got an answer to a question I couldn't personally ask although she didn't admit it was date though.
Was this the 'bro code' of mysteries that is kept between all men, maybe it was the legendary plot armour found in novels, I didn't care I was too happy to care. I gave a subconscious thumbs up to kid.
"Thought so, big sis and brother looked really good together, just like Mia and me." The boy uttered.
"Big brother is also very handsome and sister is very beautiful." The girl continued.
I stood there watching Xayah chat with the two kids like they were her little siblings, she really had her way with kids.
Soon their grandma came over and when we explained what happened she immediately apologised even though we told her she didn't need to. They left soon after.
"A date huh," I teased. Her ears turned blood red as she avoided my eyes.
"I never said it was, I said it was something like that, beside I couldn't break the hopes of those 2 pairs of cute eyes."
"Yeah right, I'm pretty sure their definition of a date only stretches to being in the park."
"A though you thought any better at their age."
We ended up spending another half hour in the park. At some point we found an empty bench spending a little time there.
Leaving the park we headed to back into city, walking through the busy streets. We did receive stares but at this point we just ignored them. Soon we arrived at our second stop, Eleven Madison Park, a restaurant which was know for it delicacies that leave you begging for more, Sett's words not mine. From Xayah's stunned expressed I could tell at least it was quite famous.
The reservationist led us to our table and made available the menu and I had to admit I hadn't heard of half of the foods written on it. Soon a waiter came over a took our orders. I ordered the Foie Gras and Duck, Xayah on the other ordered the Pretezel and Chocolate course, I guess its true what they say about girls loving chocolate.
The food came and we began stuffing out mouth fully and just like Sett described the food was great. They atmosphere was also unlike before when we'd receive gazes everywhere we walked although we still had one or two people occasionally staring it was bearable.
We spent about minutes in all at the restaurant before leaving.
We talked as we continued to walk, at some point Xayah took over and we ended going of course but it was fun. We ended going traversing long distances but the taxis and subway made them shorter. We saw the statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and a few other before we tired out and returned to the café around 2pm.
"Thanks Alex, I had a great time."
"Yh me too, we should do this my often."
"Yh."
Honk.
The familiar horn sounded and I turned to find the Bentley parked behind.
"You should probably get going."
She said giving me a hug, a kiss on the cheek and walked off.
I got in the car and we drove off with Sett being more inquisitive than usual asking about how my 'date' but it didn't matter.
