Detective Su

The beautiful detective was living alone in her huge apartment. Accompanying her was Munchkin, her fat gray cat.

Meow! Meow! Meow!

Munchkin would always wake her up early in the morning that made her alarm more useless than the noisy cat.

Detective Su caressed the well-groomed hair of the gray cat as she got down from her bed. The only thing that could put a slight change on her face was her adorable gray cat.

The beautiful detective wasn't into people as she tends to lessen her contact with others. She preferred to be with her workmates in their firm or to be alone.

Detective Su stared at the healthy cactus plant by her window as she admired it. She was still in high school when she started taking care of it. It was evident that it grew well due to the attentive care that the beautiful detective showered on it.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

A ring from her mobile phone interrupted her silent atmosphere as she expressionlessly took the phone from the coffee table.

Mom calling…

The beautiful detective pressed the answer icon.

"My beautiful daughter! Finally, you answered. Why didn't you tell me that you're taking cases again?"

Detective Su had been avoiding her mother's call since she started working back to the firm from her long recuperation as she didn't want to deal with the probing of her nosy mother.

"Like to."

Stress alarms went up on Mother Su's head as she knew that her daughter had been hiding something.

A mother's instincts were accurate when it came to her daughter/son.

Mother Su slanted her eyes in curiosity as she discreetly asked, "You… are you hiding something from me?"

Detective Su had been immuned to her mother's snooping that she would sometimes play with it.

"Mom, guess it."

Although, there was no expression on her face and no tone on her voice. Mother Su was still perceptive at the attitude of her cold-faced daughter.

"Guess? Hmm…"

Mother Su thought deeply and replied, "A man right? Hehe."

A slight change passed on the beautiful detective's expression but she masked it away. It might be a man but correction, it were 'men' but had some kind of a similarity of aura or vibe?

Detective Su couldn't explain what was she had been sensing these days when handling those cases. Every time, there would be a case where a young man was out of conscious and couldn't remember anything, she would feel chills from her side like something was hovering beside her and thought how much she would stare at her side, there was no one present.

A ghost?

The beautiful detective quirked her lovely brows while she laughed it off. She didn't believe in that supernatural stuff.

Hearing the pleasant laughter from her daughter on the mobile phone, Mother Su was surprised greatly. Even Father Su who was busy on his laptop while his ears were on alert, heard the melodic laughter of his daughter that softened his heart.

The worried parents misinterpreted it.

This was the first time he heard his daughter's laughter after the death of her grandfather.

Immediately, Father Su stood up from his chair as he neared the stunned Mother Su, he snatched the mobile phone from Mother Su's hand as he greeted his daughter.

"My precious daughter! How are you? Are you doing well there? Are you missing your mother's homemade? Don't forget to visit and your mother will prepare---"

Mother Su snatched back her mobile phone as she glared at Father Su. They glared at each other, fighting for dominance with the mobile phone.

The glaring contest ended when a call from the company interrupted them.

"My daughter, excuse me!" Father Su just shouted as to let his daughter hear his call while Mother Su shooed him away.

The sweet voice of Mother Su came back while Detective Su was busy reading a file as she put the mobile phone on loudspeaker.

She rolled her eyes when she heard that her parents were fighting for her attention again. She was used to their childishness as they always did this when they missed her.

That alighted the expressionless face of the beautiful detective as she continued to analyze the file. It was a case about a hacker running rampant on the dark web these days. The hacker had phished bank accounts three times a day and for two months 'they' were able to steal millions.

"My beautiful daughter, if you're ready introducing that man to us. The family home is always open to welcome you!" Mother Su then bid her goodbye after wishing the beautiful detective to be safe and healthy.

Detective Su turned off her mobile phone as she continued her reading as if the statement of her mother had nothing to do with her.

It was a silent day for the beautiful detective as it was weekend. Enjoying her strawberry milkshake while reading a file case was a habit of her's every early in the morning.

Meow! Meow!

Munchkin kept meowing to catch her owner's attention. She rubbed herself to the beautiful detective's feet as she meowed again.

Detective Su arranged her file as she looked at her clock. It was passed seven in the morning. She stood up from her chair and lift the fat gray cat from the ground.

Munchkin nudged her head at her owner as she meowed cutely. Detective Su put her on the counter island as she looked for the cat food in the cupboards.

She took a tuna flavored cat food and opened it. She put it in the plate as she let Munchkin have her fill.

The beautiful detective rubbed her fat gray cat's head as Munchkin ate.

While she was in deep pondering. Another call interrupted her train of thoughts.

"Captain, the hacker is on the action again," Benitte stated while looking on the monitors of their computer. Dino was looking intently at the screens as his hands flew through each keyboard. This was the first time for their laziest member to be pumped up like this. It might because of the person that they had been tracking.

'Ghost X'

The hacker was very cunning that even the reputed ranked-three worldwide hacker like Dino was challenged. Benitte remembered their first encounter with Ghost X.

It was a fine afternoon when several phone calls came in. Almost blowing up their landline and their own mobile phones. All of it came from several offices of the police. Some were even from their past clients.

And that calls were all caused by one person. Ghost X. By the duration of two months he was able to phish one hundred eighty-six bank accounts, thirty of it came from overseas.

Ghost X was so smart that even they were having a difficulty of tracking the wanted hacker.

They would do discussions onto discussions about the possible profile of this Ghost X but all of it were varying from each other.

First, based on the initial half month of the movement of the hacker. They were able to come up a profile about Ghost X being a man in thirties, lived in a rundown apartment and had no family ties.

Lay slurped his noodles as he finished hacking another account. Stretching his cramped limbs, he got up. He had been locked inside for thirty-days in this poorly-ventilated apartment with rats and cockroaches as his companions. Though this body he was possessing was handsome as he usually checked out himself in front of the mirror, he was tired of this face.

'Need to find another one!' the ghost patted his stomach as he decided to lay on the small bed after he finished erasing his traces.

Then he ejected himself out of it.

The team of Detective Su came up with another profile of Ghost X after another movement of the hacker.

It was a high school teenager who was an introvert and had lesser family connections. Living a life of hardwork to go by with himself.

Lay yawned as he fixed his eyeglasses after staring onto the computer monitor. He checked the amount within the bank account of the teenager that he had been possessing and his expression brightened as the payment from his client had been made.

He got up from his chair and glanced at the calendar. There was a red circle on a specific date. 'Midterm Exam.'

The ghost had no plans of doing that so-called exam and was bored of going to school while putting up a helpless facade under the faces of those bullies and hypocrites. Before leaving the body, he removed the eyeglasses of the young man as to admire the handsome features of 'himself'. Not bad.

In fact, the handsome youth had good eyesight but he used to wear this thick-framed eyeglasses that Lay abhorred, though he continued to wear it as to have a disguise.

Deciding that he must leave now, he wrote a note for the youth as he departed from the body.

'Don't wear this eyeglasses. It's so not good. -L'

Benitte sighed as they started to match up to their profiles for the wanted hacker and they were confused from the differing traits. He decided to go for another analysis to finalize Ghost X's profile.

Lay possessed another handsome teenage highschooler who was an heir to a multinational company but had issues with his family.

He was so bored on the life of the poor that he wanted to experience the life of a noble. He only hacked one bank account that time as he enjoyed a wealthy life but immediately, he got bored easily and left the body in the middle of the night club.

It might be not his style to have that kind of life.

The vigorous team of detectives was so down at that time. All of their conjectures were left into naught as the wanted hacker made them speechless.

And that was their first time to identify their suspect as intangible.
