Trying To Commit Unlawful Acts (2)

The floating ghost sighed as he looked at his list. There were two 'x' marks already.

Coincidentally, that scary detective was handling both of those cases. If he knew then he wouldn't join those activities.

"What's next in my 'failed' list?" He muttered as he read the list.

'Kidnapping? Oho!'

This was one of the thrilling crimes that he wanted to commit. He should wish that scary detective wouldn't be involved in this case, again.

Soon, he would realize that his wishes would be left unanswered.

Lay got up from his wooden stool as he walked towards the door. Before he went out, he stopped for minutes in front of the full-body mirror just to check out his looks.

The ghost had a hobby of possessing male bodies that had appearance value. Too handsome, check. Good body-build, check.

He would choose to possess a lean type of body that had a small amount of muscles as he felt that being too muscular was not his taste. As a ghost borrowing physical bodies, he was too picky.

Basically, he had the criteria of choosing for bodies to possess.

1. Handsome

2. Not too rich, not too poor

3. Lean but had muscles

4. Had smaller family connections

5. Not female

The last one was the most crucial part, that even if the population of males suddenly ceased and only females were left. He would never ever and never going to possess a female body.

What would he do with a female body?

Lay erased the disgusting thoughts in his mind as he ventured out of his rented room.

The handsome youth was just walking on the streets, locating for another band of criminals to join. He was looking for the Black Sprite gang that was infamous for their kidnapping operations. They weren't ones like the third-rate gangs that he had been joining for the past two failed operations. They were a first-rate gang that catapulted the leaderboard of the underground society in numbers of crime that they had committed for the past five years.

And joining that gang was easy for the ghost as he had many tricks in his sleeves.

----

Inside the home-like structured building with living room, kitchen and related areas that a typical home could have was a group of discussing detectives. This was the detective firm of Detective Su.

There were five of them in their crew. Detective Benitte was the acknowledged assistant of the captain as he was detailed when it came to case operations and other related things, Detective Mary was their medical physician as she studied forensic science and medical science for seven years, being the youngest genius of her batch. Mary then was recruited to this firm and enthusiastically took the job. She studied another four years in criminology to be qualified in this detective firm. She was still twenty-five years old this year.

Detective Zoe was another genius of the team who was specialized in criminal psychology. He was the first member of Detective Su's team. Then Detective Dino who was known to be their laziest sloth was their tech geek. He was best in his gadgets and a mechanical prodigy as well. Other than his best suit for making gadgets, he was a hacker. But due to his laziness, he could do only one thing at a time. Even the strict Benitte couldn't discipline this guy to be a multitasker.

Lastly, their team captain was known for her title as Detective Su in the world of mysteries and cases. She was a low-key detective yet an expert in her profession. She was still twenty-one years old but the solved cases that she got couldn't be counted on fingers even you added up your feet. And the failed ones were numbered to zero.

That's how amazing Detective Su was but she only took random cases or cases that made her interested.

A mind of a genius couldn't be perceived by a normal person.

Benitte cleared his throat while delight was in his eyes. "Captain, the case about the Black Sprite gang. You predicted their movements, accurately."

"Hmm."

She hummed as she continued reading her daily dose of newspaper. The headline of the cover was about cases of men finding themselves in an unfamiliar place with no memory at all.

Reading that, Benitte remembered the strange two cases that they had handled days ago. In those two cases, there would be one person waking up in the middle of the capture and would be clueless about being involved in a crime.

Benitte thought of it as strange coincidences but when he asked about the opinion of the captain, the beautiful detective only looked at him and didn't utter anything.

Suddenly, a slammed of their entrance door gathered their attention to the noisy person. It was none other than but Zoe. He was tasked to report the progress of the police that they sent to capture the Black Sprite.

"How was it?" Mary asked as she went out from their kitchen. Aside from a medical genius, she was their cook even though her food tastes a bit bland but still edible.

They had no choice as the five of them had no talent in cooking, which Zoe tried to cook but the kitchen turned into a hellfire, because of that they suffered from not eating while solving a critical case during that night. In return, Zoe was banned from meat for one month. It was a severe punishment for the criminal psychologist as he was a meat lover.

'We should hire a new member that is a good cook,' Benitte thought as he took a mental note of it.

----

Lay sighed once again as he failed another act of his. He floated near the policemen who were chatting as they waited for others to finish escorting the Black Sprite gang members to their cars.

"Detective Su is really incredible. She's accurate on her deductions," a policeman chuckled as he put the leader of the gang inside his car.

His buddy couldn't agree more to his statement.

The floating ghost heard that name again and he was annoyed by it. It was her again.

'Is this coincidence or something?'

Lay didn't dwell on those thoughts as he disappeared from the scene.

After he vanished, a policeman came out as he reported to his superior that another man was found unconscious. He was a young man and more like a newbie of the gang.

-----

The beautiful detective who heard the report of Zoe stopped from reading her newspaper as she directed her sight to the person.

"You mean the young man is claiming to be having no clue of why he was there?" Mary confirmed as she frowned.

This was the third time that it happened to them. Even in the news, there were cases of men who had fallen unconscious and clueless about what they were doing in an unfamiliar place.

A pleasant feminine voice resounded as the beautiful detective stood while carrying her newspaper.

"Let's solve this." She put down the newspaper and pointed at the bold letters of the newspaper.

'ComTech: Involved in Smuggling?!'

----

The ghost was now possessing another handsome body as he checked out himself in front of the mirror.

This person was a blondie and too good-looking. He might be a model if not for Lay examining his notes about being a hiding murderer. He killed his girlfriend due to their break-up.

Lay had no idea that picking this body on the streets could land him in trouble but before he could eject from this body, he discovered that he was involved in a case of smuggling in a company and they would be doing their second operation tonight.

This was what Lay called coincidental luck, he wouldn't have to exert effort of finding a group to join into as this guy was already involved in a crime that was in his list but it would be more exciting if he was in possession as he could participate in the next smuggling act.

Arranging his hair as he wore a cap and a black mask, he went out from a cheap inn.

Lay felt that he would be successful this time. Wouldn't be that detective resting at this time as she just finished solving a big case days ago?

The handsome young man walked with slight happy skipping as he was assured that this would be a success, while he was heading to their appointed meeting place.

The happiness of the ghost would only last for an hour as they would be captured after assembling in their location. Detective Su's team was on their tail… was on the tail of Lay, again.

"Are they complete, yet?" Benitte asked using the earpiece as Zoe scouted the area. He was good as a field teammate which made him be immediately sent out when it came to this work.

"Lander is first to arrive," Zoe whispered as he was across on a rooftop of a building while using a sniper scope. This wasn't a normal sniping gun as it was modified by Dino so it wasn't for stealth killing but for…

A black van arrived at the site and inside of it was eight strongly built men while one of them was a bit lanky as he greeted Lander which was the body that Lay had been possessing.

Lay had no idea who was this person as he no ability to look in the memories of a person that he possessed so he pretended to greet him solemnly.

The lanky man was the boss of their group and he didn't find it strange about the solemn greeting of the handsome young man as he smiled to Lay.

As a ghost, he felt a creepy vibe from that hideous smile as the boss wasn't even handsome nor having any small good features that Lay could appreciate.

They went down from their car as they would be taking out the goods from the warehouse. Yet when all of them was out of the open, an ill omen warned the ghost to subconsciously eject from the body.

Lander fell from his position as a massive electrocuting net enveloped them. They were toasted into unconsciousness as Zoe cheered in success. This time he got it right.

Lay was scared to witness this violent scene. Although he was now a floating ghost, he could feel the suffering of those electrocuted people. Even that borrowed body couldn't escape the massive net.

"Are they dead?" Mary asked as she neared the unconscious group of criminals.

The lazy tech geek rubbed his eyes as he replied, "No. It's just a small amount of voltage that will not kill them."

'Are you sure about that?' Lay thought while looking at the blackened people.
