The next morning,

As Jared open his door, he was surprised to meet her sleeping there, he thought she had left when he didn't hear her voice again during the middle of the night.

She quickly stood up when he closed his door from the outside.

" Good morning", she said with a hoarse voice as she stood up quickly.

He stared at her taking notes of her swollen eyes from crying and her ruppled gown.

He suddenly felt a little bit of sympathy for her.

"You should go take your bath and rest ", he said which was the first time he has ever shown concerned for her.

" I want to say", she begins and he told her " just don't say anything, go take a bath , rest and we will talk later", he said.

"We will talk", she asked surprised a silver of hope rising in her heart and he nodded in response.

" I will bath and be back in 10minutes", she stated happily.

" That won't do, bath and rest we will talk in the evening, I have a meeting to attend ",he told her.

" Okay, thank you so much", she said fresh tears spilling down her face. She had a skipped in her step as she went to her room.

He watched her as she went to her room and when she closed the door, he turned and walked down stairs.

There was no meeting of any sort but he needed to clear his head and think of what to do. He knew they can't go on like this even though he might not be able to trust her again.

She has been fidgeting all day, she has checked the time countless times but it seems it is not moving. She walked up and down wondering what he is going to say to her.  She was so nervous that she hasn't been able to stomach much food cos she had jitters .

The sound of the car brought her out of reverie, and she peeped from her bathroom windows.

She saw him gets down from the car and she could not help but admire him. Jared is every woman's dream man. He is handsome, hardworking, kind, brilliant and rich and for her she will take him even if he was broke that was how much she loves him but she knew she can't say that out loud no one will believe her. A single moment had ruined her life forever but she was willing to do all she could to work pass it with him.

A knock sounded at the door and she answered " yes". 

" Mr MACALLAM wants to see you ma'am", a maid voice sounded at the door.

" Okay , I am coming", she said and quickly stood up and went downstairs stairs.  She slowed down her walk as she got close to him.

He was sitting with his right leg crossed over his left leg and watch the way she has tension written all over her.

" Hey!", He called out huskily.

" Hey", she responded as she sat down at the edge of her sit.

" How are you?", He asked her which surprised her for the second time that day. First was the care this morning now that of concern.

" I...I ... I am fine ", she said as she cleared her throat feeling restless.

" Okay", he said still just staring at her

" Jared about the past, I just want to say I am sorry",  she said staring down scared of looking at him.

" I forgive you", he said  and she quickly looked up at him shocked " really?", She asked surprised.

" Yes I forgive", he emphasize the raised a finger and said" but that doesn't mean I forgot or that I trust you"

" Thank you, thank you ", she said happy there was progress in their relationship.

" We can be friends but nothing more ", he told her.

" Okay, that is fine. I accept ", she said with happiness.

She stood up and went to were he was and shake him in happiness.

" I will talk to Mark and Melissa too."he said seeing there was so much happiness in her face.

" Okay, thank you so much.", She said as she went back to her room.

On getting inside she was should "yes, yes, yes" as she twirl around.

She was just so happy.

A week later, he informed her that he invited Mel and Mark over that afternoon.  He said he would talk to them and he really did cos when she came down stairs when they have arrived, they didn't look at her with reproach or judgemental eyes.

They said "hellos " to her which was rare. They both sat down together and was drinking alcohol, something they have not done for the past eight years.

The conversation went smooth until Mel said " excuse me, can we talk, Megan",.

"Sure, " she said as she stood up at they both went to the garden for them to have privacy.

" I will try to forgive what you did in the past knowing how much my brother wants you guys to work and I want him to be happy and I can't be your friend but I promise I won't act the way I have been doing all this while ", Melissa said to her.

" Thank you this means so much to me", she said with a smile .

" Shall we?", Mel asked as she made a signal for them to go back inside with her hands .

"Sure", she replied and they both walked in with a smile.

She smiles at her husband immediately they got inside and sat down with him.

He gently asked her "if all was well" which she nodded to happily.

Her heart was at peace and she feels so free. She hope they will continue like this cos she has missed them being together like this. She also hope nothing will take away this new happiness of hers which she has been seeking all this years.

They kept clicking and drinking wine till in the evening where Mark and Melissa went back to their houses.
