Spend Your Coins!

Cyrus allocated his point from reaching level 6 to his INT stat. Bumping it to 6 which brought it down to 3 when halved. However, it seemed to allow him to read some of the script in on the next door. It just seemed to translate to "Shop" as the door was still open. He walked into the portal and found himself inside a room with candle lights and the scent of herbs.

His feet had walked onto a wooden flooring, the area was well lit and in front of him was a cloaked figure. Standing behind the counter. The person's face was obscured, their hands covered in a wrapping, and the fact the man was tall. Standing about 8 feet tall the cloaked figure looked down at Cyrus who barely stood at 5 foot 9 inches. Having noticed Cyrus enter from a portal it looked his direction.

"Come in..." It said slowly, its voice sounded like it was wispy, like cold air just passed over his neck. Walking forward to the counter where the cloaked figure looked down at Cyrus, "Items... for coin... you spend your coins... you get choices... Spend little coin... 1 choice... spend lot of coin... many choices." Cyrus looked at his inventory and saw that he had 750 Rune Coins. He manifested a coin and held it in his hand.

"Do you mean these coins?" There was a pause as the figure looked at him then the coin.

"How many coins?" The figure asked, Cyrus didn't know what was available or what he could get. Looking behind the figure he saw many different things. Potions, armor, weapons, skill crystals, even cages with creatures in them though they seemed to be sleeping.

"What can I get for 200 coins?" If the figure had visible eyes it would have widened them. But since it was cloaked heavily there was no such visible reaction except a twitch of its almost bone like hands. It turned around and pulled out 4 items from its shelf. Picking and choosing before turning around and held out its left hand.

"First... hold out hand... Need to know... what you need..." The boney hand was still held out and Cyrus didn't feel anything evil coming from the person. Holding out his right hand he was about to place it on the beings hand, but it twitched as it saw the shackle on Cyrus' wrist. "Ah... inheritor... please... relax..." As it gripped his wrist and touched the shackle with his finger from his right hand. The runes lit up red on the shackle before turning blue. "Wolf... successor... very good... one moment..."

The being let go of his arm and turned back around placing the items back on the shelf. Sifting through the various items while setting things aside it turned back around with 2 items. "200 for both..." The items it set down were a oddly wolf shaped pendent and a Skill crystal. "Coin..." It held out its hand and Cyrus held his right hand over the being's. The runes on the shackle glowed blue as 200 coins were deposited into its hand. Not a single one falling out of place.

The items disappeared and went into his inventory revealing the Necklace and adding 2 Points to his skills. The necklace had the design of a wolf head with a rune etched into the head.

[Inheritor's Wolf Pendent: As long as this is in your possession, you may spend a Skill Point to unlock an untapped ability for a summon. Has another effect but is not accessible at the current time...]

The pendent appeared on the shackle itself as it was encased in a crystal. The being nodded, "Good... you are one... Now... anything else... or go through..." It pointed to a portal that swirled into existence.

Cyrus looked at the being, "Who are you?" The being turned its head back to Cyrus.

"No one... asks name... call... Whisper... that is name..." Whisper placed a boney finger to its mouth, then smiling Cyrus saw rows of sharp teeth. The smile then disappeared and then bowed, "Till we... see each other... again... farewell... inheritor..." Cyrus didn't want to overstay his welcome so he decided to walk through the portal. Having unlocked another skill of his for his increased senses. Cyrus turned to look at Whisper and saw an overwhelming amount of energy coming from Whisper.

'I would never like to fight him in my life...' He thought to himself as he stepped through the portal. As the portal closed he found himself inside a crypt. It wasn't crowded like thought it would be, for it seemed to be somewhat spacious. He pulled up the "Summons" tab and selected Fenrir, which in turn brought up a set of 4 skills he could unlock. But only the one skill available was for 1 Point.

[Fenrir's Vanishing Step lvl 1: Quadruples Fenrir's speed based off your DEX stat. Effect lasts for only 30 seconds, recharge 5 minutes]

When he selected the Hatchling, which he still needed to think of a name for it. There were no skills that could be unlocked at the current time. For it required 2 points for just one skill, which he did not have. He decided to unlock Fenrir's skill, which seemed like the best option at the moment. He knew he needed to get more skill crystals and level up more. But for the moment it seemed like he was always behind on his leveling.

He used his newly acquired Wolf's Senses to help him in the darkened crypt. The room seemed to light up and reveal the coffins along the wall. The air smelled stale and stuffy, while his hearing picked up on the sound of gnawing bone. Within that instant of hearing the sound he drew his pistol. Loading a regular mag and wanting to save the CEP for when he could gather more. Summoning Fenrir to test out the new ability he thought it would be good to use his summons more often.

It was like he had a military trained dog, except with an attitude. Fenrir snorted and looked about, following his nose and walking forward in the darkness. The effects of his INT and STM stats were very helpful for allowing his summons to deal more damage and also have more HP. If he acquires two more Skill crystals he can then unlock "Fenrir's Howl" to buff the damage his summons would be able to do. Plus the Vanishing Step would make Fenrir an insane creature to fight. Even at the level they were, that would surely mess up anything in their path.

But for the moment, he would rely on both their senses and follow the sound of something chewing. This had reminded Cyrus of the room he fought Fenrir, though he had to guess that he was weakened severely from whatever attacked him before hand. But he had to suppress the memory as their eyes spotted the creature. It looked like a very thin human with pointed ears, grey skin, and a loin cloth. Fenrir got low and into a ready stance, so did Cyrus as the thing turned to look at them.

It let out a screech as it dropped the bone it was devouring, rushing towards them with its claws outstretched. It was fast and skinny, but its face was contorted and twisted like that out of an old vampire tale. This was known as a ghoul, and it was hungry.
