Orange Islands - Pummelo Island

Announcer, "Well folks, we have decided to take a break for the time being. It'll be a twenty minutes lunch break. Battlers are requested go to the designated areas to take a break. There will be Nurse Joys present to help feed your Pokemon and care for the Pokemon who are already out for the count. The Pokemon who are not out yet won't be allowed any healing. See you folks in twenty minutes."

Ash sighed, 'Thank goodness I won't have to wait to get them help.'

Ash touched the pokeballs containing Venasaur, Charizard and Milotic and nodded following the rotom who flew next to him. He was joined by Drake after he left the arena who grinned at him as they went together to the back of the stadium. There were Nurse Joys ready and prepared to receive their hurt Pokemon and heal them. Ash gave them the three pokeballs and Drake motioned at him to follow him towards a cafeteria.

Ash looked around curiously, "I didn't realize how big or ancient looking this place truly is."

Drake smiled, "The Orange League is actually the oldest League in the world, dating back to before the great war, despite it's status as a minor League."

Ash's eyes widened, "Seriously? I didn't know that."

Drake nodded winking, "If you win, I'll show you the Orange League's most coveted treasure."

Lucario, -We definitely have to win, Meema.-

Ash nodded excited, "Definitely."

Drake's lips twitched when Lucario spoke, it was something to get used to, "Here we are, this is your booth, mine is that one. The booths are separated in order to keep battling interesting."

Ash, "By hiding the Pokemon. Good choice. I will see you after lunch Drake and I will win."

Drake laughed ruffling his hair, "I look forward to it."

Ash went inside the booth and called his other two Pokemon, "Eat up, after lunch we are battling hard."

Lucario nodded, -If we win we get to see this place's treasure.-

The Pokemon perked up at that and got pumped up to do their best to win no matter what happens. They may not seem like it but they loved the idea of finding treasure and getting one as a prize was certainly very appealing to them. Ash smiled at the enthusiasm and half wondered what the treasure would be. Would it be trophies of previous generations or maybe some priceless and timeless items belonging to the late trainers. It would be interesting and fun to find out. After lunch both Drake and Ash checked on their Pokemon and saw they were eating their own food. Charizard, Venasaur and Milotic greeted Ash the moment they saw him enter their room. Venasaur picked Ash up using vine whip and hugged him, Charizard and Milotic hugged or curled around him to nuzzle him.

Ash laughed patting them, "I'm so happy you are okay. Drake's Pokemon are really tough, aren't they?"

Venasaur grunted and Charizard grumbled something about training more probably.

Milotic nodded, -Champion level Pokemon. It is to be expected.-

Ash, "I'm going to battle again, wish me luck."

Charizard roared while Venasaur produced aromatherapy and Milotic trilled their support for their trainer. Ash grinned and hugged and nuzzled them one more time before running outside with Lucario who told them, to take it easy. The three Pokemon grunted in agreement and settled down to watch the match on the television which was located in a corner of their room.

Announcer, "Welcome back everyone. Are you all ready for the next battle?"

Ash looked around, "Wao!"

Drake grinned, "Pretty cool, ain't it?"

Ash, "The entire geography of the field changed."

Drake, "The last time there was a battle here it was a water field, this time it's a rock field."

Ash took his place, "So cool! I'm ready when you are."

Announcer, "Please choose your Pokemon."

Drake, "Let's do this Clefable."

Ash, "Time to shine Togetic."

Announcer, "Oh my looks like we are having a battle between Fairy Pokemon."

Serena squealed besides her mom and cousin Calem infront of the TV, "They are so cute. I want one."

Serena's mom Grace laughed, "Clefable are very rare, sweetheart and so are Togetic both Ash and Drake are lucky to have found them."

Serena pouted, "Very lucky."

Serena then scowled, "Misty told me Togetic's previous trainer abandoned him as a Togepi and Ash adopted him. I can't believe how stupid people are."

Calem sighed and pat his little cousin's back in comfort, "There will always be idiots in this world darling. But you can't let them get to you."

Serena hugged Staryu and nodded, "Un, you are right Cal. If I ever come across idiots like them I'll do what Misty and Ash did adopt them and love them. I hope it never happens though I don't know how I would actually react when facing the real situation. Misty said Ash punched Charmender's abusive trainer and Misty once slapped her Clampearl's trainer really hard it left an imprint, because of what they did."

Grace, "And I'm sure those trainers deserved it. Now let's drop this subject sweethearts, it's about to begin."

Calem smiled and turned to the television, he and his best friend Yvonne knew better than anyone how cruel and stupid people could truly be. During their journey before becoming the new Kalos King in his case and Champion in Yvonne's case, the two of them had run into a group called Team Flare more than three times. He clenched his hands remembering the people and Pokemon who lost their lives because of the group's foolishness and arrogance. If only they knew who the leader was they could go after them and defeat them once and for all. Serena would be going on her journey in two years when she turns fifteen after all and Calem didn't want her to face or have the same nightmares he did. It had only been two weeks since he and Yvonne fulfilled their dreams and it looks like they won't be the only newbies.

Announcer, "Begin!"

Drake, "Double slap!"

Ash, "Light screen."

The double slap hit the light screen and was reflected back towards Clefable. Togetic trilled as he flew around giggling the shiny stone glinting around his neck. Ash half wondered, just how much did his happy go battle nut Wigglytuff influence him as a Togepi. Clefable meanwhile grumbled on seeing and hearing the crazy laugh wondering why he always battled the crazy ones.

Drake, "Use mega punch."

Ash, "Counter with mega kick."

Clefable rushed to punch the flying fairy type while Togetic waited for the right moment and kicked him hard. The punch and the kick collided creating a small wave of energy that flew through the field. The two held that position before breaking off and starting to battle each other relentlessly.

Announcer, "Look at the two Fairy types go at it. They are not holding back at all."

Ash, "Aerial Ace."

Togetic sped up his movements and hit Clefable hard surprising him a bit but the pink fairy type shook his head and got up. Togetic narrowed his eyes and regarded his opponent, he was definitely stronger than expected. It was like Milotic had told them, they were Champion level Pokemon so they shouldn't hold back.

Drake, "Healing wish!"

Ash, "Get ready to battle hard Togetic."

Drake, "Moon blast!"

Ash, "Ancient power."

The two Pokemon powered up moon blast and ancient power getting awes from the audience before releasing them. The attacks collided each other creating an explosion of light and silver and blue colour. The explosion died down and both Togetic and Clefable were standing on the field before attacking the other with double slap and mega kick. The slap and the kick made contact and both of them were pushed back from it.

Ash, "Calm Togetic, remember our training."

Togetic nodded and took a deep breath, "Getic!"

Drake, "Clefable use ice beam."

Ash, "Protect and metronome."

Togetic used protect to give himself some cover from the ice type attack as he focused on the metronome. When the metronome was completed a powerful dragon breath was shot towards Clefable who dodged but was still hit by it on his shoulder. Clefable grunted at the hit but Ash didn't let up on the attack.

Ash, "Now use pound."

Drake, "Disarming voice."

Clefable used disarming voice making Togetic bounce on him harmlessly much to his confusion then annoyance.

Drake, "Healing wish."

Ash, "Oh no, use draining kiss."

Togetic gave a deadpan look at the squeals coming from the stadium from the females but did it anyway. Humans could be so weird about the most normal things. It was not his problem, he decided and focused on recovering his own strength. Clefable looked at the younger fairy type annoyed and shook him off. At least he managed to recover half of his strength from the healing.

Ash, "Imprison."

Drake, "Drat, well then I will compromise."

Togetic simple grinned, "Toge!"

Clefable, "Fable!"

Drake, "Use thunder."

Ash, "Protect quick followed by fairy wind."

Togetic quickly put up a protective wall although he winced when the thunder hit before retaliating.

Drake, "Reverse gravity. Use hyperbeam."

Clefable used gravity in reverse to launch itself into the air to dodge the fairy wind that would have hit him. Clefable then quickly used hyperbeam to attack Togetic who fell to the battlefield on being hit.

Ash, "Togetic!"

Togetic however refused to go down easily and got up, "Tic ge."

Ash, "You're in a bad shape. Are you sure you want to continue?"

Togetic noticed the worried look on Ash's face and his determination doubled, he wouldn't let his trainer down. His previous trainer never cared about his well being and only forced him to battle but Ash was different. He had made it clear that their health came first and no victory was worth their health. Togetic got up determined to at least take Clefable down with him no matter what and he started to glow. Togetic's shape changed and his wings became bigger while his body became more oval shaped and soon infront of everyone a Shiny Togekiss stood.

Ash, "Togetic you evolved into Togekiss."

Togekiss nodded then smirked, "Tog."

Ash was ecstatic before becoming worried, "Will you be able to continue?"

Togekiss nodded positive and faced Clefable who was looking at him impresses.

Drake, "Congratulations Ash, but now, use ancient power."

Ash, "Thanks Drake, use extreme speed to dodge followed by sky attack."

Togekiss flew around the Clefable dodging the ancient power attack before flying upwards and attacking. The sky attack came down hard and fast on Clefable hitting him hard straight on. When the dust cleared, Clefable was knocked out on the battlefield unable to move.

Announcer, "Clefable is unable to battle, Togekiss wins the match."

Ash cheered, "Good job Togekiss."

Togekiss cooed as he flew to Ash and nuzzled him as thanks, "Ge."

Ash pat his neck, "You want to keep on fighting or want to leave? There's nothing wrong in giving up."

Drake, "Thank you old friend for battling with me."

Drake looked at where Ash was talking with Togekiss, it was not uncommon that newly evolved Pokemon kept battling. But whether Ash would follow that trend was honestly up to him. Togekiss meanwhile cooed before pointing towards the opponent side then himself.

Ash blinked, "You want to test your strength more?"

Togekiss nodded and Ash agreed after a while, "Alright but don't push yourself too hard, you just got your new body. We should be going to Nurse Joy honestly but since this is a Championship, I'll make an exception. Only this once! Don't go getting ideas though."

Lucario nodded, -Agreed.-

Togekiss trilled in agreement as well before going to stand on the field again, "GE!"

Drake, "So Togekiss is still battling, alright then, Pidgeot your turn."

A large Pidgeot appears giving a shriek and looked at her opponent and screeched in greeting. Togekiss looked at his opponent as well and he could easily tell she was a powerful fighter. He could easily see the strong muscles on her wing area and the sharp claws which looked ready to attack at any moment. He would have to be careful while fighting her, he remembered how powerful his sister Pidgeot is and how she trained him. He could test himself against this Pidgeot and see just how far he had come.

Announcer, "Begin."
