Orange Island - Pummelo Island

Drake, "Use Hurricane."

Ash, "Fairy wind."

The hurricane and fairy wind clashed sending powerful gust of wind through the arena making Ash use his hand to cover his face from the flying dirt. Lucario stood by his side using protect to keep himself safe, he grumbled in his mind that he was unable to do it for Ash as it was against the rules. The audience were in no better condition as they felt the powerful winds and attack coming from the battlefield below.

Announcer, "And the battle has started off with two very powerful attacks from both sides."

Drake, "Quick attack followed by aerial ace."

Ash, "Use extreme speed to dodge followed by steel wing.'

Togekiss nodded and used extreme speed to get out of the way of the powerful quick attack by mere inches. The newly evolved flying type panted, he was starting to feel the exhaustion after evolving, maybe he should have agreed to getting some rest first. Togekiss shook his head away from that thought and focussed on attacking, there was no time to hesitate, it was his choice to battle. He would give it his all on this final attack, whether he stayed conscious or not after this. Togekiss and Pidgeot clashed causing a shock wave through the air that flowed through the arena, after which they both fell to the ground. Pidgeot managed to right herself up before she hit, Togekiss however fell straight to the ground knocked out.

Announcer, "Togekiss is unable to battle, Pidgeot is the winner."

Serena pouted at the television, "Togekiss fought so hard."

Calem, "It happens Serena also don't forget he just evolved so he is probably not used to battling in his new body yet."

Serena blinked confused, "Then why would Ash battle with Togekiss? That doesn't sound like something he would do."

Grace, "Togekiss probably insisted."

Calem nodded, "Aunt is right, sometimes your Pokemon will desire to battle no matter what happens. During that time you have to make a call whether to continue or not. Ash no doubt decided to continue for Togekiss's sake more than anything else."

Serena, "Oh! But is that wise?"

Grace, "Depends on the situation sweetheart, sometimes you have to let your Pokemon loose in order to show them that you still care for them even if they lost."

Serena, "I see, Togekiss still feels like if he doesn't win, Ash will leave him. So Ash decided to let him battle to show him that's not the case."

Calem, "Togekiss no doubt knows that Ash won't leave him but you know what they say, old habit... "

Serena, "Die hard. I get it."

Ash, "Togekiss return. Thank you for the battle buddy. Get some rest now okay."

Lucario, -Will he be alright?-

Ash smiled, "He will, we will make sure of it."

Lucario nodded, -Yes.-

Ash, "Now then, let's go Beedrill."

Beedrill appeared, "Bzzzz!"

Lillie squealed, "Beedrill look, look. It's your mom."

Lillie's Beedrill buzzed in excitement as well seeing his parent in the battlefield. Lillie and the rest of the class had decided to have a sleepover at Professor Kukui's place. Although most of their parents knew it was mostly to watch Ash's battle late at night, they allowed it. They trusted the Professor to ensure they would not stay awake longer than necessary once the tournament was over.

Kiawe, "I still can't get over how large she is."

Sophocles nodded, "She's a real beauty too, just look at that shine."

Mallow, "Ash mentioned he uses a nectar based cleaner available in Celadon city to clean his bug Pokemon. It's one of Erika's more successful products."

Lana, "They are starting."

Gladion who had been dragged along just watched the boy his sister and her friends had befriended on their trip to Kanto. It had shocked him to see Lillie with a Kakuna of all things on her lap. The Kakuna had noticed him and alerted her to his presence.

Flashback:

Lillie, "What is it... Brother! You are back."

Gladion, "Yeah..... Where did you?"

Lillie, "You mean, Kakuna here? I got Kakuna as a poke egg from my friend, Ash. He and Misty told me that one of the ways to get over my fear is to raise a Pokemon myself."

Gladion's eyes widened, "So, does this mean you aren't afraid anymore? You are okay with Pokemon now?"

Lillie looked at him sadly, "Not really I can only handle Kakuna here, but, but, it's better than nothing right?"

Gladion was quite before he spoke, "Yes, I am very relieved as well. You are getting better."

Lillie smiled brightly at that and invited him to join her in the garden. The old butler took one look, gave a smile and went to prepare snacks for the siblings as Lillie told Gladion about how she met Kakuna. Kakuna gave Gladion an eye smile before settling himself by Lillie's side enjoying the cool breeze.

Flashback end!

Ash, "Beedrill quick attack."

Drake, "Pidgeot extreme speed."

Pidgeot and Beedrill flew at each other with very high speed clashing needles with beaks and claws. The only sound to be heard were the clashes and most audience were watching glued to their seat. Beedrill buzzed as she attacked the large bird over and over her attacks getting hit by another attack. It was exhilarating, Beedrill decided to fight at such high speed and went after the Pidgeot with gusto.

Drake, "Hurricane."

Ash, "Solar beam."

The solar beam and hurricane clashed against each other and Ash gritted his teeth under the effects of the two attacks. To think that a Pidgeot's hurricane would be powerful enough to hold back a solar beam that way. It was in one word impressive.

Ash, "Endure."

Drake, "Quick attack."

Pidgeot attacked the bug poison Pokemon with her powerful quick attack but Beedrill refused to go down. She glared at her opponent who narrowed her eyes at her.

Ash, "Outrage!"

Drake's eyes widened a bit in surprise, "Use agility to dodge."

Beedrill got up and mercilessly attacked Pidgeot going after her despite the agility she used to get away. Pidgeot had to defend herself against the poison jabs that Beedrill produced naturally. Or she would become paralyzed and unable to move at all.

Drake, "Pidgeot hyperbeam!"

Ash, "Solar beam."

The hyperbeam and the solar beam were shot at very close distance and hit the respective targets straight on. The two Pokemon fell to the battlefield hard, creating a dust cloud to rise around them. When the dust cloud had cleared up they were both unconscious from the attack.

Announcer, "Pidgeot and Beedrill are unable to battle. This match is a tie."

The crowd started to whisper, "Did you see that?", "Yeah, can't believe Drake didn't win.", "Pidgeot is one of his strongest Pokemon."

Announcer, "Now we'll be having the final battle of this tournament which will decide who is the winner. Remember you need to win to be considered a winner. If it's another draw, then Drake will still be considered the winner and Champion."

Misty, "Huh?"

Chloe, "That's not fair is it?"

Silver, "Actually it's an incentive to encourage challengers to do their best. They must be strong in order to handle the dangers that Champions have to face should a crisis occurs."

Gou, "Oh! So if you end up a draw you are considered not ready yet."

Tracey nodded, "Yes, Kanto and Jhoto follow the same rule. I'm not sure about the other Leagues."

Drake took a pokeball around his neck, "Now then I have not used this Pokemon in a long time. Let's go my old friend."

Ash's eyes widened as a battle scarred Dragonite appeared infront of him, 'Guess this one thing remained the same.'

Lucario, -I will battle you.-

Drake looked at Lucario in surprise before nodding, "Aura of course! I am guessing Milotic is capable of using aura as well?"

Ash, "Not as fluent as Lucario but yes, she is."

Announcer, "Begin!"

Drake, "Dragon pulse!"

Ash, "Aura sphere."

The dragon pulse and aura sphere collided releasing a wave of energy across the stadium that had people sitting up. Aura and dragon aura together could either destroy or rejuvenate depending on the intent. It was one of the most fascinating subjects Slowking taught them during the time it took for things to settle down. Ash half heartedly noticed how the people looked more awake despite the hot summer sun beating down on them in the open arena. Ash himself had learned to regulate aura through his body during meditation so that he was not affected too much by the different temperatures.

Ash, "Lucario aura cloak, followed by sight and bone rush."

Drake, "Dragon dance followed by sword dance."

Both Dragonite and Lucario used the dance or the cloak to increase their strength and defense higher before attacking. Drake had noticed Ash's eyes sometimes tinged blue during the battle and he wondered if this was the aura at work. Lucario was able to go toe to toe with Dragonite despite the obvious type disadvantage. Drake watched excited as Lucario twisted away from Dragonite's claws at the last moment and landed a painful looking drain punch on Dragonite. Dragonite roared out of pain and annoyance, on feeling his strength being sapped, he had managed to land a hit on Lucario earlier but also had been hit.

Drake, "Dragon breath."

Ash, "Lucario use your cloak."

Drake whistled when Lucario covered himself in the cloak made of aura, making him look remarkably human, 'If you didn't know any better, Lucario could get away as a human being instead of Pokemon.'

Lucario meanwhile jumped above the dragon breath coming down on his opponent with metal claw. Dragonite retaliated using dragon claw and the two non regional starters glared at each other not wanting to back down. They separated and took a fighting stance before rushing forward again and battling.

Announcer, "Oh my! I have never heard of aura cloak before. Is this a new move? What do our guest Champions think about it?"

Red, "It's not a new move, not exactly."

Lance nodded, "It's actually an old forgotten move that Lucario trainers would use in the past. It helped in making the fields even or giving the Lucario a boost."

Announcer excited, "Is it similar to mega evolution or z moves or dynamaxing?"

Lance, "Heaven no! Not at all. That's asking for the Pokemon to commit suicide. There's a reason why the mega stones, z - crystals and wish stars are necessary for the Pokemon."

Red, "It provides an extra kick or strength to access the next stage of power, you could say."

Announcer, "So the cloak is only exclusive to the Lucario line?"

Red nodded, "Mn!"

Lance smirked, "Have you seen Sir Aaron and his Lucario's portrait? They both had aura cloaks."

From there the announcer gave a brief history of who Sir Aaron was and why he was such an important historical figure. It had a lot of people watch the battle with more interest as Dragonite and Lucario attacked each other with fire, thunder and ice punch. The last one affecting Dragonite greatly, the ice move irritating him a lot. Dragon's loved warmth more than anything else, just look at the Charizard line, they gave up their dragon typing for fire and flying Dragonite grumbled inwardly.

Lucario, -Meema!-

Ash grinned, "Let's do this."

Ash's eyes glowed blue for a second before becoming normal and both Lucario and Ash took a stance then Lucario flared his aura outward. It formed a vortex around him and he glowed before the aura let up and infront of everyone Lucario stood. He was sporting a new look with longer hair on his head and the cloak turned into an armor like item all over his body.

Misty, "Is it just me or does Lucario look like Ash a little?"

Silver looked at the cameras in apprehension, "Not just you."

Gou caught Silver's look, "Don't worry, most people don't know what Ash looks like with his hair open."

Chloe, "You sure they won't notice?"

Tracey, "We can hope."

Ash, "Let's do this, aura sphere full power."

Drake, "Ho! We are not going down easily, dragon meteor."

Lucario launched an aura sphere that looked more black than blue with blue aura coming out of it. Dragonite launcher a powerful dragon meteor from above in retaliation to the attack. The dark and condensed aura sphere absorbed the meteors and flew straight to Dragonite who's eyes widened before he was hit and fell towards the ground at a fast pace.

Ash, "Follow up with ice punch."

Lucario attacked as Dragonite fell hitting him with another powerful attack. Dragonite fell hard with swirls on his eyes signaling he was knocked out.

Announcer, "I... Unbelievable! Dragonite has been defeated. We have a new Champion."

Lucario panted as he powered down from his adrenaline rush and was caught by Ash who had rushed to his side, -We won Meema.-

Ash grinned, "We did, are you okay? Scratch that of course, you aren't. This is the first time using this method. Hang on, I'm getting you to the Pokemon center."

Lucario, -You need rest too, you are exhausted as well.-

Ash, "I will, return Lucario."

Ash got up and rushed out of the battlefield before anyone could say anything else. His friends and Pokemon who were cheering him on nodded and left too. They all met up at the Pokemon center that had been set up behind the arena.

[A. N.: I just realized I never explained what the aura cloak was like.

So I did an info dump on this chapter.

Hope you all enjoyed this chapter.]
