Brianna

Brian stiffened at my question for a slight second before it petered out into a chuckle. "I'm Brian, I know everything. The best strategy is to know everything about your enemies."

Yeah, right. Anyone could sniff out the cover-up from a mile away. Why couldn't he just come out and say he knew because he and the wolves weren't enemies? Didn't he trust me?

Before I had a chance to call him out on his lie, he jumped from the counter. "I'm going to hit the loo, be right back."

Ugh!

Typical of him to run from the truth.

When Brian left, silence engulfed the kitchen. The sound from the running water became prominent.

I washed my hands and the table cloths we used. It was the least I could do for Josh.

A smile graced my lips at the image of Josh and Courtney on the couch. They did look cute together. I just hoped they would realize sooner rather than later.
