With a deep sigh, I wish once again for the life I had when I was ignorant.
As I might have already impacted the normal timeline, so without validation, basing my actions on that knowledge is a waste. My most reliable course is to work as though I know very little and keep feelers out for what I suspect might or should happen.
I glance to my side at the furry ear, I still have no idea why she seems to like staying in that form. I wonder how much I have messed up the spider's future.
Pulling the mansion here will be a massive bonus, with beasts lab, Eric's we just ideally need one more .. oh, wait a sec.
I do have one massive concern, Lilly seeing Charles. In my opinion, she has all the right in the world to beat the crap out of him, although if she knew what would have happened to her if I had not freed her then, oh boy.
I can feel they are done talking so before they call me I turn around, and gently ruffle the hair on Felicia's head to annoy her.
Inside I notice people have moved around, even the table has a crack now. It seems they had a rather heated debate.
I listen as Eric tells me they will move the mansion to the island, but it needs to be placed slightly apart. As for the rescue, they all agree that even if it brings attention to them it is something that needs to happen.
I look at Beast and raise a point I have always been curious about, the exact why they locate mutants. He replies it is detecting the unusual waves of psionic energy ("brain waves") that superhumanly powerful mutants emit.
"So why has no one made a scrambler then?" I ask
I watch as blank faces stare at me, I sigh, pull out my pad, and start working on it.
After I got a few ideas down I passed it to Lilly to check it for me. Looking up I ask, "Have you guys got the area ready yet?"
I was honestly expecting I would need to do it, it seems they have mutants with the right abilities though.
Charles lets me know Nightcrawler has let the kids in the mansion know what is happening and the portal flower the Island supplied has been taken over to the mansion. They agreed, for the moment, it would be set to arrive at the end on a long metal corridor with a protective screen until we can set something up to know who is arriving.
The powers I combined for this will not allow me to bring any living matter, so kids had to clean some things out of the mansion first, leading to me standing in front of a big hole waiting.
To be honest, it felt more like a ritual than activating an ability, I had to set loads of parameters in my mind before my ability brought the mansion over, I wonder if when I combine the powers to make something new I am still activating each one, strange.
"The kids are arriving through the plant portal," Eric says next to me, although I had already felt the influx of powers.
I grin as I turn to Eric, "Do you have a tattoo kit around here?"
Eric tilts his head and looks at me like I lost the plot, "Urm, not sure. Any particular reason?"
I am not sure who it is, but I just gained an ability that might well be a game-changer for me.
My next move was the lab where the mutants are held, moving the mansion gave me an idea for this.
My fused ability would not let me move the people, but that also worked for me, if I moved the lab and allowed my clones to take care of the people, they could teleport the mutants and kill the rest. There was only one problem.
I called Lilly and checked if any mutants were kept alive with any machines, apparently, they were not that nice and anyone close to death was left to die, in fact, it seemed a few were currently.
Sensing my current abilities, it seems I am able to heal, based on the kind of healing I can only assume Elixir is part of the mutants that arrived as I am able to use Biokinesis, a rather powerful ability.
I am standing in front of another pit, this one will be for the lab, I hope this is not going to become a habit. Lilly is giving me real-time updates on who is in the lab, it seems I might need to take care of some Sentinels once the lab arrives, since they are not organic they are going to be coming with the lab, I would assume they should be Magneto proof.
Since I am not going to be able to copy their powers I am tempted to do my tattoo's before I call the lab as that should give me a serious boost.
Raven has already found a very basic tattoo set within the settlement so I head back to Eric's house and past some of the new faces that are looking around, if I am honest I have been coping so many powers I have not been paying full attention, I have noticed some people have no powers though, I can only assume Charles accepted them in the school as they have the X gene.
I head up to the top and decide to climb on the thatch roof, it is not like there is any chance I am going to fall off.
I have been thinking about the powers I would like, one of the first things would be to try make my powers permanent. Depending on the ability you want it takes various amounts of will, although that is not something I lack with so many people about.
It is all about focusing on what you want when you start the tattoo apparently, you need to have something clearly in mind so I decided to focus on the word Emplace, which means to put something securely in place or in a desired position.
Taking a deep breath I dip the nib in the ink and keeping the tattoo effect I want firmly in mind I lay it on my skin.
Within my mind booms a voice "Oh child, you have such a grand goal, I love unforeseen variables like you." The voice is gentle but seems to fill every corner of my mind, I would have trouble trying to define its gender if I am honest.
I am not sure if my eyes are open or closed, I see a vast dark space, and from within it a massive closed hand it reaching towards me with its palm facing upwards.
The hand seems to stop before me and slowly open, from within the palm I see 7 orbs of differing colours swirling around. It seems the moment they realize they are no longer being held they fly out toward me at incredible speed.
I feel them burn into my body and the pain is incredible. It feels like there is lava flowing under my skin and I start clawing at my skin in an attempt to release it.
The voice speaks once more, "It is not your body that is changing child, it is your soul. How else could you contain it, child." The gentle voice fades as the pain eases.
I take a deep sigh of relief. Looking down at my arms I see no damage, even though I am sure I was clawing at them. It is then that I notice the tattoo on the back of my left hand.
It looks like coloured orbs in a circle with a 7th in the middle, and each of the 6 seem to be filling with a colour, while the seventh seems to contain a ghostly image, very similar to myself.
