Is It Wrong To Love Someone?

"Is it wrong to love someone?"

Nattara was lost in deep thoughts while falling into the mortal realm. She was having flashbacks of the time she spent in the godly realm.

"They never cared about me. They did the same at that time too."

Even though she was a goddess, was she really meant to be exiled just for falling in love with someone? Well, she did break the rules of being a goddess.

'It pains me here, in the heart whenever I look at him getting close to someone else. How did he become like this?'

Years ago, she was exiled for a crime she committed unknowingly. Her powers were snatched away and she was thrown to the Earth. She had nowhere to go, nowhere to live, nothing to eat. She was turned into a mortal for a short time, and she could feel everything a mortal could.

One evening, she was sitting in a park on a bench, alone. It was raining and she was fully drenched in water. Her tears were flowing out of her eyes but it was not visible in the rain. Maybe, that's why she chose that time to sit there.

"Hey, you will catch a cold if you sit here in the rain for too long," Someone said.

Her vision was blurry due to all the crying and the rain. She turned her head and saw the silhouette of a boy.

"I don't care," She said with a gloomy face. "I am as good as dead."

"Huh? But I can see you alive and well."

Her vision slowly became clear. She saw that the boy had a skinny body and was wearing a T-shirt. He had short and messy black hair and pale yellow skin. He was under a black umbrella whose handle was in his left hand. He also had a half-eaten burger in his other hand.

"Where is your mom? She might have been searching for you," He said, taking a bite of the burger he was holding. "You should return to your home."

"Even if I want to return there," She said, with a sad face, tilting her head towards the ground. "But I can't."

"What? Don't tell me, you lost your way to your home?"

"No, I did not."

"Then why are you sitting here?" He was trying to become a pest.

"Let me be alone, I don't want to talk to anyone." She was constantly staring at the ground.

"Hm, did you get scolded by your mom?" He said, taking another bite from the burger. "And she is still mad at you. That's why you don't want to go to your home and face her."

"I don't know if I can call her my mom or not," She said.

"What are you talking about? Are you adopted?"

"No."

"Oh, then... Ah, I haven't introduced myself yet." He walked towards her. "I am Arsh, the upcoming pop sensation."

"Pop sensation?" She didn't know what a pop sensation was.

"Yeah, I will have fans all over the world." His eyes were glittering. "Besides, tell me about yourself."

She did not want to tell him that she was a goddess. "I am Nuvara."

"Hm, it's an uncommon name," He said. "Anyways, tell me why is your mom mad at you?"

"I committed a mistake," She said, in low voice, remembering the moment she was exiled.

"Hm..." He hummed. "Let me think, you did something funny with your boyfriend and she found out, and that is why she is mad at you."

"What are you talking about?" She said, in a rushed voice. "Besides, I do not have a boyfriend." Her cheeks were red a little.

She was there on the earth for many days, but it was the first time someone ever talked to her in this friendly manner. She wanted to stay away from a stranger like him but the warmth she was feeling then, she did not want to let that feeling go away. It was like someone was there for her with whom she could share her feelings. But she was still cautious of him.

She composed herself and looked at him. "And why are taking so much interest in my life? Do I know you?"

"Hey, don't get me wrong. I was just passing by and saw you sitting here alone in this rain. I was just curious. Do I look harmful in any way?"

"I don't want to talk to anyone right now. Please, leave me alone."

He sighed. "Okay, if you say so. But if you ever need anything, you can find me there, in that building."

He pointed to a two-story, old and worn out building painted in yellow. It was near the park and was clearly visible from where they were present.

"Here, you can take this," He said, placing the umbrella over her. "You will get cold."

At that moment, it felt like she was in heaven.

"But I can't take it. It's yours."

"You can return it to me later. You know where to find me." He smiled. Like I said earlier, that smile... that damn smile.

Her hand moved on its own and took the umbrella.

'It was nice meeting you,' He turned. "See ya."

He started walking away. She looked up at the umbrella.

"You should go home," He said, in a loud voice, while walking away. "It will be dark soon. Don't make your mom worry about you." He stared at the ground with sad eyes. "You should feel blessed if you have one," He murmured and went away. "See ya!"

She was continuously looking at him until he vanished. She pulled the umbrella near her chest and smiled.

"Ah, my burger got wet." He threw the burger away with all his strength. "I should have eaten it before giving her my umbrella."

He was going towards the building but suddenly, he saw a bulky guy blocking his way. He stopped.

"Oye, were you the one who threw the burger?" The guy said, venting steam from his nose.

Arsh gulped. "No, I was not the one."

"Don't lie, it landed directly on my face. The sauce went into my eye, it burnt like hell. It's good that it's raining. But you will still pay for it."

That bulky guy seemed like a delinquent. Arsh did not want to get into trouble. "Ah, Raghav uncle," He said, looking behind the guy.

The guy turned his head to see if someone was there, but there was no one. He turned his head and saw that Arsh was gone.

Nattara was still sitting in the park staring at the building he pointed to.
