Chapter 10

The next day after school, I encountered Prof. Dog in the lobby. He was reading the comics printed on a newspaper. He laughed weirdly with extremely syllabicated "Ha"s.

"Oh, Butterfly!" he greeted me cheerfully.

I looked around for Mr. Shark. He'd usually be around right about now.

"How was school, woof?"

"Fine. Where's Mr. Shark?"

"No idea. I haven't seen him since morning, woof."

About half a week passed. Mr. Shark was nowhere to be seen. The other tenants didn't see him either.

I went up to his floor a few times and saw that everything was still in its place. The sharks appeared to be healthy. Someone must have fed them in the past few days.

Mr. Shark didn't move out, so where could he be?
