He placed a hand over mine. "Apology accepted," he said sleepily.
"Mr. Shark! You're awake!" I exclaimed happily.
He appeared to be struggling with the pain. "Dog told me everything. I can't believe he convinced you to sneak into Jellyfish's floor." He sighed. "But this is all partly my fault too for not telling anyone where I went. I didn't think you'd care."
"If we didn't have that argument, would you have told me?" I asked.
"Yeah. I knew you'd be wondering where I went."
"So where did you go?"
Mr. Shark gazed at the sharks in their tanks. "I should have just told you from the beginning why I was helping you."
Mr. Shark started his explanation, "Every year, my younger brother and I return to our hometown to visit our sister's grave. After that, we spend some time together and update each other about our lives."
"So that's where you were," I said.
