Chapter 64

Ms. Cat gathered the old photo albums and piled them up on the table after clearing away the papers. I took the album at the very top and placed it on my lap. I began flipping its pages.

I was in all the pictures. It felt strange to see a picture of me without even remembering what happened during the time it was taken.

My lost history. It was sitting right on my lap.

Ms. Cat waited anxiously for my reaction. Or perhaps she was waiting for me to say: "I remember everything! Ms. Cat, how could I have forgotten you?"

Unfortunately, such an event was too convenient to happen. My life wasn't a cliché TV drama that was written haphazardly.

Ms. Cat knew I was confused, so she tried to explain. "That was when your grandmother took you and Kiel to the lake. She was checking on the fish in the area."

"Were you there?" I asked.

"I stayed home during that time, but I made the snacks you brought with you."

"Thanks for the snacks then."
