Chapter 67

My sudden outburst surprised the two. For a minute, they stared at me with appalled looks on their faces.

"Since when have you become so rebellious, Butterfly? You used to be so obedient. Aqua Chrysalis must have had a negative effect on you," said grandmother.

"She was most probably influenced by Shark," said Kiel.

"Shark? I thought he left! They crossed paths?"

"They did. And they…" Kiel met my eyes. He didn't look happy. "… became very close."

Grandmother was surprised. "I should never have sent her there."

"Why did you send me there in the first place?" I asked.

"I wanted you to try learning the ways of city folk. Out here in the countryside is different. It should have been a good learning experience for you, but apparently it wasn't so." She shook her head in disappointment. "I'm thankful Kiel brought you back here."

"This is where you belong, Butterfly," said Kiel.

"Are you sure that's why you sent me to Aqua Chrysalis?" I asked. I had a feeling there was more to it.
