Simulation-2

"Where do you think the explosion happened"? Xander asked anxiously. They got out of their room quickly to see the roof at the end of the corridor completely blown up with a few remnant flames attached to the dark walls. The room which was almost completely blown up was supposed to be the kitchen, which got them thinking, did anyone blow it up on purpose or was it an accident. The fact that they were much more concerned about was if or not Kane is alive.

They didn't have any ways to communicate with each other apart from face to face talking. Most of the group events they participated in did not involve them working as a group. With their group dynamics, it was safe to assume that their group dynamic wasn't that stable. "Let's go" Mumbled the Sanders brother once he heard some noises coming from the floors below.

"All we have to do is go down the lobby and get out right"? The Sanders sister asked. All of them nodded before heading off to the stairs. Their plan was quite simple, avoid going to any floors, take the nearest door leading to outside and escape. Unfortunately it was messed up when they encountered a large pile of debris blocking the staircase. It was possible that the explosion caused the wall here to break down. Was this building really that weak? Seemed to them that their safety was a joke while they were here.

Suddenly Kaze jumped over the railing and landed perfectly on the stairs across it. While risky the rest of the group tried to do the same and landed perfectly, to their own surprise, to the stair number 3 from the intersection. Reaching below, the exited the building and found a huge swarm of dracyrus all over the place. Each and everyone was approaching them while they tried to look for the door from the point they stood.

When they were considerably closer, Kaze shot the gun he was carrying and shot a car that was there. His bullet specifically affected the gas tank and blew up the car altogether. Even being a fire, it failed to attract the Dracyruses' attention and shrieked at them with much more anger. "That didn't work you moron, and now we are going to die because of that". The  Sanders brother spat at Kaze.

"It worked", he replied, pointing at a shiny door-like projection that stood in place of the car.

"Did you know it would happen"? Xander asked him, amused by his wit.

"That car was out of place. No one parks here in our building. No one drives such oil powered cars anymore. I was curious why it was there", Kaze explained his reasons.

"Nice" The Sanders sister commented. "Now all we have to do is get to the door right"? She asked the crowd and herself before taking a deep breath. Pulling out her gut she smirked and declared, "Let's get out of this nightmare"! The proceeded in the direction of the door carefully. Any time a Dracyrus got too close to them, they would launch an immediate combined fire, incapacitating the beast almost instantly.

All of them walked through the shiny door like projection, even if it was almost way too blinding. The first one to reach there was Kaze, followed by the Sanders brother. Xander smiled in victory the moment he reached the gateway.  He was about to step out when he heard a scream. "HELP" Turning around he found two Dracyruses dragging the Sanders sister away from the gate. He pulled out the sharp daggers from their cases which were attached to his shoe before throwing them at the Dracyruses.

They shrieked in pain and choosing it as a perfect moment he shot his gun finely over the wound and thus killing them in the process. She ran back towards the door while Xander fended off any Dracyrus that came near her, or in her way to the door. As soon as she reached both of them crossed the door closing their lids tightly as the blinding white light irritated their eyes.

After a whole second Xander opened his eyes to find that he was back in the simulation room. Looking round he spotted almost everyone getting off their respective pods after disconnecting the leads attached to them. After all of them stood on their own feet, they noticed Captain McKinley standing right in front of Kane. "What happened to you"? The Sanders sister questioned.

"She found me blowing up the kitchen, so she saved me from blowing up" Kane shrugged with a smug on her face which earned her a glare from Captain McKinley. "I was there with you today so that none of you end up dead. I won't be there next time" She informed them sternly. "Dismissed", she said and left the room.

On their way out most of them were satisfied with today's training. The Sander sister muttered a quick thank you before walking off to the cafeteria for lunch. The thrill of it was what they dreamed of when they signed off for the programme, well, everyone except Kaze. Kaze, who had his own questions from the simulation, skipped lunch and headed off to his room.

Getting up on the bed he typed, [Z/ Why wouldn't my powers work in simulation]

After a momentary pause, she replied. "The simulator generates an artificial image of the person. Most of the physical aspects included are how the one who designed the operation perceives you, and not how you perceive yourself" ZIA informed.

"So that means, they designed my… avatar as a human"? He asked out loud since no one was there in the room.

"Exactly. However all the mental faculties are retained by the person for whom the avatar is made. After all, it's all in your head". ZIA explained.

"So, I don't need to worry at all right? I am physically fine"? He asked her once more to clarify the situation.

"Let me do a quick scan," ZIA replied. After a few seconds she began to speak again, "According to my scan, 25% of functional damage has occurred to your cells in comparison to the time of your landing on this planet"

"What"? Bewildered, he asked back. "Why do I have this damage? Oxygen"? He asked carefully

"I lack the equipment to detect the exact cause of the damage, however from the record of your health status I can tell you that the damage is more or less linear. It becomes exponential when you use your teleportation skills". She informed and soon Kaze got a ping on his phone. It was a graph sent to him by ZIA that showed his growth record and how every time he used his powers, which was more in the beginning, the chart dropped quickly. Could this be the reason why he had a hard time using his powers the other day at the museum?

"If this continues, how long do I have"? He asked carefully.

"60% of the damage will be reversible, which given the common trend would take a little more than another month. When the damage reaches the threshold of 50%, the structural damage will begin, two months from now". Pausing for a moment she replied, "You will survive a little more than two months if this trend follows, and almost three months if you don't use your powers at all". So all he needed to make out of this place was figure out a way as soon as possible? It seemed like he didn't have as much time as he had hoped. He needed to find a way soon enough if he wanted to survive.

"You know what's odd? For a guy who barely talks, you ask a lot of weird questions, out loud, when you are all by yourself" A high pitched voice spoke from the door of their assigned room.
