Connection

Kaze looked up at the door to find the purple haired woman standing there with a tiny smirk. "So"? Kaze questioned her flatly. "I have to explain myself to you"? Kaze asked rudely.

She smirked before walking into the room. She grabbed something from her bag and was about to leave when she spoke, "If I were you, I would be careful", and she left.

Kaze sat there wondering about what she could mean. Was she suspecting him? Or like her usual attitude, she simply didn't care.

Letting go of his current train of thoughts he pondered upon the information ZIA gave him earlier. He gave up all hope of ever surviving on this planet the moment he landed here. When he survived that 24hour time limit he was beyond elated. Finding the will to live again once more, it was hard to let go. Kaze was determined to survive, and since he was here for this long all he needed to do was find his way back to Syverzius. But, how?

At that moment his room was filled with the candidates from their team. Everyone except the purple haird girl was back which raised his suspicions once more. Taking his leave, without bothering to even look at anyone he decided to look for something, anything that would aid in his escape.

He knew the building where his ship was possibly kept would not be accessible to him, so he decided to explore the units which were prohibited to the candidates. Of course it was easier said than done. Given how the units were restricted, there was no way it had a casual security like the building allocated for their training. If only he could find his way through the vents like last time.

"What brings you here at this hour"? A feminine intrepid voice asked him from the behind. Turning around he found it was none other than Dr. Joan Mitchell. At this hour hardly any trainees came to the ground floor, making her questioning of his presence plausible.

"I… came here to get something" Kaze literally uttered the first thing that came to his mind, regretting it a moment later as he had no idea on how to follow that up.

"What can you possibly get in this floor"? She looked around and then looked at him with an inquisitive smirk.

"I… had a package delivered". He mumbled when he saw one of the guys in the periphery open a small carton containing a present or something.

"Here? You are aware that the any arriving packages have to undergo thorough scrutiny to ensure the safety of IAEA. I mean, I am sure you ordered nothing harmful, but these are basic security procedures" She informed him.

"Just some of my old stuff. Where would I get them then"? Kaze asked, seemingly curious.

"Our team takes it when it arrives at the facility. It will be delivered to you once it passes through the scrutiny process". She informed him with a tiny smile. "Any more questions"? She asked.

"No" Kaze shook his head as he fought the urge to use his powers to wreak havoc in the entire area. Not that he would mind making a mess, he needed to save his energy to ensure his survival.

At that moment he saw the purple haired woman, driving a hover-bike. It seemed she was headed for the garage below the building, and that's when the second idea stuck him. Going to the counter in front he asked them for the car key that belonged to Xander, "Can I get the Car key 41365"

They handed him the disc labelled with the number, which upon a quick scan of Kaze's fingers let out the metallic key. The keys had a fingerprint sensor installed in them which would scan the fingerprints on it and thus allow the person to access the key. This was a way to prevent the thieves from stealing any hover cars in the 23rd century. Even though the car key belonged to Xander, since they stayed together for a while back in the garage, he had Kaze's fingerprints installed in them as well.

Taking the car out of the campus he decided to do a perimeter drive along the entire IAEA. Taking note of each and every entrance and exit, including the dumpster he fell into the other day he tried to determine which building they might have the S-Capsule at. It took him almost two hours to finish the sweep, that too with an average speed of 50kmph.

Upon reaching back to the main gate, instead of going inside he decided to turn away and go to a location quite far from the IAEA. Finding a deserted site he connected to ZIA and asked, "Can you somehow hack into the communication system of IAEA"? He asked ZIA in his own language.

After a momentary pause ZIA replied, "I am afraid I cannot".

"Any major glitch that can cause enough distraction of the majority of the cadets"? He asked once more.

After taking another moment ZIA replied, "I might be able to replicate the code that triggered their system when you arrived at this planet. It will send them a false alarm of an unauthorised landing and thus will cause a temporary distraction until they figure out that it's just a computer glitch"

"And how long will that window be? How long will it take them"?

"About five minutes"?ZIA replied in a questioning manner. "The time factor has way too many variables for me to calculate and give you a much accurate value. However I can inform you when they have eliminated the glitch, thus essentially marking the end of their distraction" ZIA concluded.

"Alright then, do it" Kaze commanded. It took ZIA around a minute before she declared the operation to be successful. Using his dialer on his watch he called the Syverzius ship to give them an update of his well being for the very first time since he was here. He was anxious whether or not they had begun their journey on the course of return to ZMR-47. He was relieved when Chief Makizul picked up "Sir, I am so glad you called, we were planning our course back. We were worried that you were…" He informed, trailing off at the end, but Kaze got the hint nonetheless.

"Fortunately I am not, but I might be. I am uploading all the vital data I have accommodated in my time over here, followed by my journal if time permits. As it so appears I might not survive here for long, in case I don't return after four months, consider me dead and return". He ordered. Kaze was determined to return, but he was more determined to make his trip worthwhile. Even if he died here, with the data accumulated over time here, it could lead to some groundbreaking discoveries by his people, which would earn him the title of 'Space Master' a title he yearned for, however posthumously.

"But sir, how can we-" Chief began to speak but before he could finish he received an Alert on the phone from ZIA, showing that the malware she planned has been attacked. It's still intact but not for long.

"I don't have much time. I must let go if I have any chance at survival. Feel free to look at the data and if possible help me find a way to get back". Kaze ordered.

"Understood" Chief Makaizul affirmed his Captain's order.

After ending the call, he checked his phone and sighed in relief when he saw that all the data was successfully sent followed by a red alert text from ZIA written {the malware dissolved}. He needed the distraction so that he was not tracked instead. A major glitch like that might draw their attention away from the unauthorised intergalactic connection, long enough to escape detection.

Upon reaching the main gate he deleted half of it's GPS records that would show that he was ever present at that deserted location, meaning that even if they track the source of the connection, they might not be able to tell that it was none other than Kaze. Feeling somewhat victorious, and somewhat doomed he headed inside the IAEA
