CHAPTER 7

Chapter 7

First day in class

When I got back to my dorm room I tried on the uniform, not that I hadn't tried it on when I got it from the receptionist. But, I was really excited so I decided to try it on for the second time (the uniform fit perfectly, it looked AAMMAAZZIINNGG!!!)

In Newcastle, uniforms are worn on Mondays and Wednesdays, sport wears on Fridays with the exception of athletes, cheerleaders, swimmers. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays are mufti days (even though a whole lot of people break the rules, they just wear what they want).

After trying on my new uniform and looking at the mirror like what seemed like the hundredth time admiring myself. I decided to take it off finally and being careful not to get it stained with makeup.

I headed straight to bathroom to have my bath (like they say cleanliness is next to godliness). I don't understand how some people (e.g. Bryan) won't find it necessary twice or even thrice a day.

As I was having a cold bath I decided to play stitches by Shawn Mendez (P.S. had a crush on him). I was singing at the top of my lungs (you can't blame me, we all have or bathroom sessions once in a while). It was a hell of a song, I kept it on replay.

When I had finished with my madness in the bathroom I called it a day because I was exhausted and besides tomorrow is school. I wore pajamas, drank some water and then went straight to bed.

Monday morning, the day I will officially start my senior year. I woke up feeling excited, I rushed to the bathroom and had my bath after thoroughly washing my hair. Then I used the blow dryer the receptionist to blow dry my hair, then I curled my hair with the hair straightener and then did my edges. I wore my school uniform and then I put some light make up on (not to much, I hate a pancaked face). I finally finished and got my things, I was running late for orientation so I had to rush out.

When getting to the orientation hall I was stopped by their dumb ass security. Two security men were annoying me but most annoying one was the one on the left.

Security man at the left: who are you?

Emily: I'm a new student.

(They both laugh mockingly)

Security man at the left: you must be kidding, since when did Newcastle start admitting black kids?

Emily; well, I don't know!! Can I just get into the hall?

Security man at the left: Feisty, hmm!!

(They both laugh)

Security man at the left: get in.

Emily: Huh!! Finally.

I get in and someone and one of their student usher told me to sit on the seat that had my name on it, it was obvious this school was built for the rich, they gave us a golden spoon and a golden cup full of black coffee and they asked us to choose any snacks from the snack bar (more like food, it was way too much for all the people in the orientation hall) some greedy people couldn't hold their selves. I found myself being really cautious, maybe because of all the bling and hot people around me or I'm buzzed by the black coffee. There were obviously people o high class seating around me, no one even talked to me or even came in my direction. After being briefed on the school rules and what not's, they told us to check our schedules and that classes start at 9:30 am so before we start heading for class we should start socializing and getting to know each other. I really didn't knowing so fully well no one was going to come to me so after waiting for 20 minutes I left the hall and started heading to class, the first class I have today is chemistry.

As I enter into the class, everyone went silent as if I was a ghost or something. Then our chemistry teacher Mr. john introduced me to the class.

MR.JOHN: Class we have a new student, her name is Emily Rodriguez. Emily do you have anything to say to the class?

Emily: No.

MR. JOHN: Ok, that will be all. Here are your books, please sit down next to Mr. Montez.

Alex was hot, absolutely hot. He had light brown hair, blue eyes, cute smile, pink lips, to his cheek bones, tall, he looks like a 6 foot (he isn't up to Bryan's height) just tall enough, his muscles were to die for(not too much but they were definitely there), and then his accent (OMG!! Emily keep it together).

I then walk to the middle of the class and sat on the seat next to him.

Alex: Hi, I'm Alex Montez.

Emily: Hi, you already know my name.

Alex: (chuckles lightly).

Emily: please what page in the textbook?

Alex: Chapter5, page 151.

Emily: thanks.

Alex: You're welcome.

Emily: Why do people stare at me weirdly, like I stole their dog or something?

Alex: we don't usually have black people school here.

Emily: (gives him a weird look) usually?

Alex: actually never, you're the first.

Emily: I know (chuckles).

After having the two weirdest classes I have ever had in my life of which Alex was in none. It was lunch time, which automatically meant eating alone (God!!! I miss Oakwood).

I walk to the cafeteria and order for some French fries and chicken with some yoghurt. I then sit on an empty seat with a table and then I wore my earpods and started playing music on them until I felt someone tap my shoulder.

Alex: hey.

Emily: hey.

Alex: can I sit (smiles).

Emily: sure.

Alex: thanks.

Emily: but don't you sit with your friends, why're you here?

Alex: I do, but I want to sit with you (smiles).

Emily: why?

Alex: cause you're my friend too.
