New Weapon

A week has passed.

I was in the kitchen, just hanging out, waiting till the rice is done. My doppelganger is and has been taking my position so I have basically done nothing except this this past week.

You know what I need? I need someone that can take over for me because when I head to the academy, I won't be in the inn for… what? Ten hours?

But I don't think anyone in this world can replicate my skills. Sure my doppelganger can but it doesn't last very long. It feeds off my mana and that's a pain as constantly feeding your doppelganger mana while you are in some kind of situation could lead to many problems.

Maybe if there was a way for me to make a doppelganger that won't constantly be feeding on my mana.

Like a clone.

Or for a cheaper option, I'll just have someone do it for me. So I decided to put a help wanted sign up at the window. I specified the request that I wanted an expert chef because I don't think any average chef can compare to my cooking skills.

Or for an even cheaper option, I just put up a sign saying not available until the afternoon. Yeah, that sounds alright.

"Oi Seiya."

Abigail walked into the kitchen and asked for me. I asked what was up.

"Isn't today your date with the princess?"

"It's not a date, and yes, I'll be leaving in a few minutes."

"Alright~"

That's right, the princess is getting me new weapons after I broke my daggers during the fight with Marth. Even though I have enough money to buy replacements or new ones, getting them for free isn't all that bad. I could also get another weapon while I'm at it.

I left all my duties to my doppelganger and exited the inn. I also made sure I didn't get my scarf caught by the door handle. I don't want something like "that" to happen again.

Walking down the busy street of the east side of Lucifis, the capital of Priden, it was as lively as ever. Now, the princess told me to meet her at the central plaza which is located near the middle of the city. Now, the city is pretty big, it's almost as big as Tokyo. Directly in the middle of the city is where the royal palace is. The plaza I'm supposed to meet her at is supposedly the area for the wealthy. Maybe I should've worn something more formal, but oh well.

***

The central plaza was beautiful. There were so many shops that just looked so professional. Window displays showed all sorts of clothing, armor, weapons, etcetera.

I arrived at a large white fountain with a statue of a pegasus. As she said, she was going to be at the fountain. There she was, just standing there. She was wearing a white cotton dress that dropped below her knee and a straw hat. She looked like one of those girls you meet for the first time in an anime.

I walked up over to her and she noticed me.

"Seiya."

"Your highness."

"Please, no need to be so formal. Aurelia is alright."

"You sure?"

She nodded. I guess it's alright then.

Along the way, many people were giving us looks. Not like those intimidating looks, more like charmed looks, and I recognized that they were all directed at Aurelia. Well, I guess it would be natural; she is pretty, after all.

After a few minutes of walking through the plaza, we eventually ended up in front of this weapon shop called "Decus". There was a set of golden armor in front of the shop window with a large, shiny sword.

I can already tell that I won't be able to afford anything in this place. Heck, I would probably not be able to afford anything in the plaza. Well, maybe the food.

When we entered, there was a young girl that looked around her twenties was at the counter.

"Hello, welcome to Decus. How may I help you?"

The girl greeted us. The princess walked up to her and placed a medal on the table. I took a closer look at the medal and it had a symbol on it, though I don't know what symbol it was but it must've been something important.

The expression of the girl suddenly changed when she saw the medal.

"P-please wait here your highness."

Then she went to the back of the shop. Hmm, does that metal prove that she's a princess?

A minute later, the girl was followed by a man who looked around his forties. He wore a grey suit and he had a top hat. He also had a kind of gentleman-like mustache.

"Your highness."

He greeted as he bowed to Aurelia.

"Henry."

"And who may this young man be?"

"He is Seiya Gekiryu. Seiya, this is Henry Percival. He is the one that made my rapier and he will be the one that will make your weapon as well."

"Delighted to meet your acquaintance."

He his hand out and I shook it.

"You too."

"So, this young man needs a new weapon crafted by me?"

He looked back at Aurelia and she nodded.

"Understood, follow me."

He would walk to the back and we followed him. We entered a workshop with bulky men making swords and armor. Eventually we arrived in an office. It was pretty average, nothing fancy. There were some artifacts on display on this shelf.

While I was looking at the artifacts on display, I heard a click behind me. When I turned around, Henry had opened up a hatch and there were stairs leading down.

I followed Henry and Aurelia who had walked down the stairs.

"Young Seiya, please close the hatch once you've entered."

I closed it and began to descend down the stairs. The walls had torches that lit up the area. Later, we arrived at this door and Henry knocked on it a few times. The way he knocked on the door was familiar. It was like he just entered some kind of code. Two taps, a pause, one tap, another pause, and then three taps.

Then the door opened and a bright light came pouring from the other side. When my eyes got adjusted to the sudden flash, I realized that we had arrived at some underground shop. There was some weird flashy armor that looked like it was made out of diamonds, a sword that looked like it was made out of pure glass, and more.

Henry took his top hat off and placed it on some hangar. Then he went behind the counter and smiled.

"Come please, don't be afraid to choose."

I approached him and there were weapon molds displayed on the wall.

"You can choose what kind of weapon you want. Then you choose what kind of material you want and it will be made."

"I see."

I observed each and every mold. There was one for a short sword, a longsword, a hammer, etcetera. This man had everything.

The one I came here for was a pair of daggers but the Katana got my attention. The shop where I went to get my weapons didn't sell a Katana, they only had ninja swords… which is basically a mini Katana. I can get a Katana made here too?

I looked over at Aurelia and she smiled at me. Her smile was so… attractive.

I would refocus my attention back at the molds.

"Can I get that one, also, maybe that one."

I pointed at the daggers and the katana. Henry nodded and then moved on.

"Here are the materials that you can choose."

I looked at the piece of paper that he handed me. There were about fifty kinds of metals mentioned on this paper: Mithril, Orichalcum, Adamantite, all the fantasy-like metals and the ones on earth.

I don't really know what metal is the best. I prefer a light but extremely durable metal. If it's too heavy then I won't be able to move much and if it ain't durable, then it'll end up like my daggers.

"What metal is extremely light but durable at the same time?"

"Light and durable? Let's see… might I suggest Neronium?"

"Neronium? What is that?"

"It's a newly found material that we still haven't tried yet, but it is basically an alloy composing of mithril, adamantite, and coltan. Mithril makes it lighter and adamantite makes it extremely durable."

"What does coltan do?"

"Well it basically gives the metal a black texture. Are you ok with it?"

"You got me at black. I'll take it."

Henry nodded and entered the back.

I looked over at the wooden clock on the wall. An hour has passed. Henry came out of the back and then handed me a piece of paper.

"Your weapons will be delivered in three days, please write where you want me to deliver it and it will be delivered to you when that day comes."

"I see, did you also add the specifics that I asked?"

"Affirmative."

"Well then, can't thank you enough."

"No no, you should thank her highness. After all, this kind of shop is only open to those that have been granted by the royal family. This place is owned by his majesty after all."

"Oh, so that's why she showed that girl her medal."

I glanced at Aurelia who was looking at the weapons on display.

"So this place is owned by her father? That means you work under her as well?"

"Yes, as she said, I was the one that made her weapon. I remember when she was brought here by her father to have her weapon forge. Her weapon is made of biancanium. It's basically neronium but white."

"I see."

"By the way, how did you get her majesty to bring you here?"

"Well, she offered this."

"Offered? You must've done something to attract her attention."

"I didn't do much."

"I see."

As I wrote down the location on the paper, I had one more request.

"Can you also replicate this weapon?"

I asked as I handed him my ninjato which I had strapped on my knee. I had it just in case I got attacked.

"Hmm, I think I can do that. Neronium?"

"Yes."

"Then it shall be done."

"Do I have to pay?"

"No you don't need to pay. Anything done in here is done for free."

"I see."

Now we were back on the surface. I would have my weapons delivered two days before school starts.

As me and Aurelia had exited the weapons shop, I had realized that it was already late.

"Thank you."

"It's alright, I guess it's time for you to head back."

"As for you as well."

"I will see you at the entrance ceremony."

"Mhm."

As I headed back towards the Golden Sun, I suddenly realized.

Wait, there's an entrance ceremony?
