Chapter 4: Where am I?

They had arrived in Greed Hill City, when Dark asked to Sonic:

- Sonic. Are there humans here in the city?

Sonic answers:

- Of course ther eis. Why do you ask?

Dark stops suddently and he begins to have visions. Humans with guns, dead bodies all over the place, bullets flying everywhere. Dark was paralysedfor a few seconds. Sonic asks:

- Dark, are you-

- We have to get the heck out of here. Right now! - Interrupts Dark, running out of there.

Sonic runs after him and says to him:

- Hey, come here!

Dark, while running, continued to have visions of what happened st the ARK. Solders breaking into the laboratory where he was raised, took the professor and arrested him. He heard Gerald saying:

"Dark, run away! Hurry!"

And the vision ended with the sound of a gunshot. As he was distracted with the vision, he hit a steet lamp with the head and he fell unconscious. Sonic reaches the hedgehog, accompanied by Tails, and says to the two-tailed fox:

- We have to take him to the HQ.

- Do you think that we can trust him?

- I think so. He knows something about that hedgehog that we are looking for.

- Well seen. Let's go.

Sonic pickedup Dark and took him to the Tornado. They took off and they went towards the Resistance HeadQuarters. Dark, in mid-flight, opens his eyes with difficulty and says quietly:

- What the hell? - And he lost consciousness again.

Tails, concerned about the black hedgehog, asks Sonic:

- Do you think he'll be okay?

- He'll be perfect. - Sonic replied - Why do you ask?

Meanwile, inside Dark's head, he wakes up in a dark place, with only a light above him.

Dark on

*What the heck happened with me?*

He hears a voice in front of him:

- عنقييرربسخص!

Dark looks into the dark and sees a silhoiette of a hedgehog, like him. Dark asks:

- Who are you?

The figure approaches him and shows that he is his brother but, something is wrong with him. Dark asks:

- Shadow? Is that really you?

Suddently, Dr. Eggman appears behind Shadow and shows that he's controling him. He presses a button and Shadow starts attacking the black hedgehog. Dark tries to talk with him, saying:

- Man, it's me, your brother, Dark!

Shadow continues to atack him. Eggman starts laughing and press another button. Shadow uses Chaos Control and teleports behind Dark and attacks him from behind, spearing a Chaos Spear in Dark's back. He screams out in pain and falls to the ground, lokking at his brother and the blood that was running down his body. Shadow steps in front of Dark and steps on his head, as if it were a rotten fruit being crushed. Dark looks at Eggman and says:

- Y...You...will..pay..for..ngh..for this.

Dark closes his eyes and hears his head being crushed by his brother's foot. With the shock, Dark wakes up and sees that it was just a dream, or an vision. he looks around and see that he is in a place with high tecnology. He remembered about the ARK. He saw that he was lying on a hospital bed. Looked at himself and saw that he has some bandages around his body. He asks:

- Hello. Is anyone there?

Sonic appeared with two girls. The blue hedgehog says to Dark:

- I'm glad you're awake

Dark asks to Sonic:

- Sonic, where am I- Hey!

- Don't move. I'm trying to get rid of your bandages. - Said one of the gils that was with Sonic. - There.

- But...Who are you?

- Sorry. My name is Sally Acorn and this is Amy Rose.

- Nice to meet you. - Said Amy

- The pleasure is all mine. - Dark returned - Where am I?

- You are at the base od the Resistance.

- Sorry, what?

Sally answers:

- You are at the base of the Resistance, a group of solders to compete with the forces of Dr. Eggman.

Dark remembers what he was looking for and says:

- I have to talk with this Eggman guy.

Amy screams:

- WHAT!?

- I have to find and talk to Ivo Robotnik. - And, getting up from the bed, he continues - I have to...ngh...talk to him...about my brother.

Sally asks:

- Who is your-

Dark interrupts, aswering:

- He's called Shadow, Shadwo the Hedgehog.

Sally and Amy were surprised, and scared, by the news. Sonic says to Sally:

- I told you that he ia related to the "Project Shadow" but do you heard me? Of couse not.

- I wanted to make sure it was him, you bastard!

Dark interrupts the discussion and says:

- Wait. how do you know about the Project Shadow?

Everyone stayed quiet by the question. Dark continues:

- Me and my brother were the only ones who left the Space Colony ARK alive!

Sonic replies:

Well, umm...you see...

Sally completes:

- The humans have the Project Shadow.

- WHAT!?
