Groaning, Hayden rolled off his bed, he caught his reflection on the mirror. His once electric blue eyes looked pale and lifeless but he was determined to live life nowadays. He had all the time in the world, literally, so he decided to at least attempt to find some kind of happiness in this world.
His years of grieving were coming to an end and he decided that he didn't want to live his life in misery forever, Reyna wouldn't have wanted that for him. He dragged himself to the shower and began getting ready for school. The vampire wore a black, denim jacket, a black and white striped t-shirt and black ripped Jeans finishing off the outfit with Vans.
He glanced at the mirror once more as he ran his hand through his white hair and sighed. Living was hard and exhausting. Hayden just wanted to have a little excitement in his life, which is why he decided to go to high school. Even though he was more than 500 years old, he was a teen at heart and also he looked like one. His body hadn't aged since he turned 18 many years ago so high school was his only option.
"God, could I look any more depressed?" He whispered to himself as he grabbed his stuff and hurried downstairs. If there was one thing he wanted, it was a normal teen experience. That couldn't happen if he looked like a corpse that just got dug up.
Grabbing a blood bag from the fridge, Hayden sat down at the table and drank the blood as he zoned out. There were no nerves or anything but it was something different that he was doing and he was just so proud of himself for going through with it.
"Denny, you okay?" His mother walked into the kitchen with a slight frown. Her sweet, motherly scent immediately filled the room.
"I'm fine, mum. Stop worrying." Hayden glanced at his mother and gave her a soft smile, attempting to reassure her.
"Denny, I just want to make sure you don't do anything whilst I'm gone." The blonde haired lady grabbed a blood bag and walked towards her son.
She patted her son's hair as she sipped the blood, her eyes filled with worry. Addena was a short woman with a lot of worries. Hayden had gotten most of his looks from her except his blue eyes, which he got from his father. Before the incident, Hayden had beautiful, blond hair now his hair was a cold silver. She hated leaving her son alone, even though he was an adult, she felt scared that he would fall into a frenzy again.
A killing frenzy. But she figured that it was time to trust him.
"If you need me call me." Addena kissed his head before walking towards the door.
"I will." Hayden grabbed his bag and quickly left.
His mother watched her son sadly. She could tell that he was going to move out soon, her maternal instincts were always right.

"You took ages." Morgan groaned when he saw Hayden shut the gates and walk towards them.
Hayden rolled his eyes and got in between the twin brothers as they walked to school. Morgan, who was on Hayden's left, was an incredibly proud and horny vampire. He had thick curly hair and dark brown eyes that twinkled with lust every second of the day, his dominance surged no matter what action he did and he particularly hated weak people, meaning he hated humans in general.
Morrigan, who was on Hayden's right, was his brother's opposite. The human boy was shy, quiet and never said what was on his mind. His every movement radiated submission, Morrigan hated people and socialising. The fact that he was human with a powerful last name always made him bow his head in shame which his brother hated. The twins were complete opposites and Morgan hated how weak Morrigan was.
The feeling was not mutual.
"You think you could find your love matches in that school?" Morrigan asked, directing the question mainly at Hayden.
The cool November breeze nipped his skin but he shrugged it off, not wanting to look weak in front of the vampires. This was a pretty normal thing for him, he did it back then and still does it now. Whenever he would complain about the weather or wear a thick coat all the vampires would tease him(including his ow brother) and call him weak. From the day he was born, Morrigan was taught to act like something he wasn't. Forever living in the shadow of his overpowered, blood-thirsty brother.
"Nah, the school is probably filled with humans. I doubt powerful vampires like us would be mated to humans." Morgan smirked, completely aware of how much his words stung his brother.
Hayden glanced between the two and just as usual, he had to patch it up for them.
"I think whoever the Sun Goddess decides you should be with, human or not, is who she believes is perfect for you." He said, even though he didn't necessarily believe it.
Hayden cared for both brothers, they had all been raised together which is why he always had to be the middle man. Always having to make sure that Morrigan didn't take his brother's words to heart and that Morgan was a lot nicer to his twin.
"What the hell is that smell?" Morgan snarled covering his nose. Since all his senses were heightened, he was a lot more sensitive to scents and so on meaning that they affected him more.
"That's high school. Fresh B.O and raging hormones." Morrigan groaned. For the first time in years, the boys had one thing in common.
They both hated high school.

The trio pushed the double doors and walked inside the crowded hallway. As they walked ahead, students parted, giving them space to walk past. Girls squealed as they watched them and boys, well heck, they squealed too.
Most students bared their necks in submission without even realising it, Hayden's dominance overpowered them and they felt attracted to it. Vampires were naturally at the top of the food chain as they were the predators. From the curve of their nose to the scent they released, vampires were created to attract humans; to lure their prey in. Stupidly, humans fall for the trap and adore vampires. Hayden didn't blame them though, it was in their DNA to feel drawn to him or his energy.
Halting, the vampire glanced down at a boy who was standing right in front of him with some books in his hands. The boy was average height, not very muscular but incredibly beautiful. From his fluffy brown hair, to his honey brown eyes, the boy was stunning. His pale, clear skin made him look a bit like porcelain doll with thick red lips.
"I'm Kang Taewon, I'll be the one showing you around on your first week." The Asian boy stretched his hand towards Hayden, shaking his hand.
Not that he didn't like it but Hayden felt that the boy was too formal, so did Morgan and Morrigan. Most humans this age weren't this formal, it felt like a business meeting.
"I'm Hayden Kingsley." He forced a smile as he spoke.
"I'm Morgan Williamson." Morgan shrugged then glanced around, searching for any vulnerable girls he could prey on for blood. His attention span was as small as his patience, the boy was the stereotypical vampire. Constantly hungry, heartless and emotionally manipulative.
Shyly, Morrigan introduced himself, "I'm Morrigan Williamson."
"Let's get going." Taewon turned around and pushed through the groups of students.
Hayden's eyes narrowed as he watched the boy, he wasn't even shy around them. He didn't even submit in any way. It was peculiar. What surprised him even more was that it was in the presence of a Kingsley, the strongest vampire clan.
They finally reached Student Reception where they got their timetables, the bell rung as they gazed over their lessons. Chaos erupted as students pushed and hurried to their lessons, whilst they just stood there, completely unaffected.
"Hayden, your classroom is the third door on your left." Taewon pointed and assisted Hayden as much as he could.
"Thanks." The vampire said before he walked off to his classroom.
Now that it was silent and less scents filled the hallways, Hayden could smell something. It was sweet and mouth watering. Although the scent was light, he could tell what it was even though doubts began bubbling. Taking another whiff, he was sure of it.
That sweet scent only meant one thing.
