Chapter One

I was 19 and had woke up and one day and realized that I hated the way my life was going. My name is Riley Van-Jensen, and I took a year off to travel around the world, my parents hate the idea of that. My best friend Devin and I had worked out the math and we had finally saved up enough to see Europe completely. We would start from West to East, maybe skip a few of the boring places. Riley Mini-Van! What's up douchebag?" yelled Devin from across the road. "Devin, what's up asshole?" I said while giving him a knuckle bump. "You ready for this trip?" I said "Hell yeah, man!" Like I said before, we skipped a few places and bounced around and ended up in Romania. It was a beautiful country with lots of hard working people. We found a bed and breakfast to stay in while we were there. Dev and I stayed in the same room, while he was showering I went down the hall to the stairs and did some exploring outside. I noticed something strange, it was a poster of a goofy ass looking Dracula and it read "Beware of the blood thirsty". "What a crock of shit" I said laughing as I walked away. Dev seemed weirdly shocked by the poster, he's usually his cocky self but he seemed extra out of after that poster. I couldn't put my finger on it...

I suddenly woke in the middle of the night, and I couldn't fall back asleep. I checked my phone it said 3:36 AM. I noticed that Dev wasn't in his bed. I panicked but started looking for him. I went to the attendant at the front desk, and asked if he had seen him. His name was Niko. "Yeah I have seen him, he left with a group of people about two hours ago" he said with a thick Romanian accent. "Dev isn't from Romania, he doesn't have friends here" I said with a shocked expression. That assface has a secret that he's not telling me and I want to know. So I proceded back up to my room and pretended to sleep and wait for him. So about two hours later this weirdo walks in wearing little to no clothing. What clothing was on him was ripped, mangled, and bloody. "Jesus, what the hell happened to you?!" I blurted out. Dev looks at me and falls flat on his face, which I noticed was covered in blood. I was looking to see where it was coming from, I noticed a bite on his back, vicious like a dog. And two holes in his wrist... I was horrified.

I put him on his bed and tried to tend to his wounds, but they wouldn't stop bleeding. "I hate to do this, but I'm going to look for a doctor" I said to him as he lie there unconscious. I ran with this gut wrenching sad feeling that something bad happened to him. I found a local vet who specializes in animal attacks and rushed him to the bed and breakfast as quickly as I could. As we arrived, the room was spotless, no blood, clothes, bandages. Nothing. Dev was gone. My stomach felt like it turned inside and I bursted out with tears. "Where is my best friend!?" I exclaimed with agony. I collected myself and went to Niko again. "Hey Niko, have any maids been in our room? And did Dev leave? " No, my friend. No maids have been in your room, However, I did see some people come in and take Dev out over their shoulder." Niko said. "Well what did they look like?" I said. "They were pale, wore sunglasses, and were very well dressed. All wearing expensive suits, they carried him out over their shoulders". "Thanks Niko" I said. "Anytime, my friend!".

I began asking around this small town to see if anyone had seen these strange people. Anytime I asked a bartender, clerk, or anyone else they would make up excuses and then walk very fast away. Things we're getting very suspicious. I was growing more and more worried about my best friend. About one week goes by and at this point I had come to realization that my friend may be dead. But in the back of my head I thought something much worse. I was walking back to the bed and breakfast when I heard a very loud and vicious snarl. It sounded dog like, I was almost too scared to check. I didn't want to end up like those dumb asses in the horror movies but, its the only clue I have. So I turned the flashlight on my phone on and slowly creeped down the alley. Until I came upon a huge dog looking bear thing, I didn't know what to make at first until I got a better look and as soon as I did I was hit in the head. I don't remember much after that
