Chapter Twenty-Three: Rescue and Slaughter

I am babysitting Clovis as he is regrowing his body parts in the basement of the Castle. It's been a couple of days and his legs are almost back and half of his left arm is regrowing. I am still pissed as hell at Dev and Bridgette. I wonder what the gender of their kid is,  eh, it's not important. Dumbass starts squirming, it looks like he is having a seizure.

"Dev, get down here! What's happening?!" I scream. Dev comes sprinting down the stairs "What the hell?" He says.

"What do we do?" I ask him.

"Let's not be cliche and bring him out of his holding cell, leave his ass in there." Dev says. I walk upstairs and turn the corner to see Abraham walking through the main doors.

"Where have you been?! Nobody has heard anything from you!" I say.

"When did you get back?"he asks.

"Four or five days ago" I say as I laugh and hug him. He has really proven that he is trust worthy and sincere.

"Riley! I'ts good to see you! But I have something extremely important to tell you! Riley to defeat Clovis II you need to be a Vampire! I have read about an Ancient story proven to be the truth. A Vampire named Balthazar in our bloodline and I only say our because I turned you. Anyways, Balthazar defeated Clovis I, his father.

"I need a Wolf's Bane cure then, and I need to be turned." I say.

    "Good thing I am still a Vampire" he says and winks.

Hey, before you cure and turn me, whatever happened to Viktor? The guy who destroyed my ribs?" I ask.

"I tore his heart out and then burned him, he tried to sell secrets the The Blood Faction." He says. Abraham puts the Wolf's Bane cure In a syringe and injects me with it. I hate needles. I could feel the Wolf's Blood drying up in my body, and then I threw up a dark green substance. I'm human again, not for long. Right as Abraham goes to bite me we both jump from an explosion that we heard. We both run down stairs, and Clovis is gone. Are you serious? "Abraham, infect me now." I say. "Before I do, I have a gift for you." He says while he hands me a very old looking sword. "Riley, this belonged to Balthazar. It is required to end this horrible cycle." He says. "Thank you Abraham. You're my family." I say as I clean the blade.  Abraham cuts my arm and his so we can mix blood, and then bites me. The bite isn't necessary but it turns me quicker.

    We mix blood and boom, good ol' Riley is back. I lay on the ground from the agonizing pain that comes from the bite and Vampire disease. I begin screaming and then Dev and Bridgette sprint from upstairs to the basement.

"Where the hell were you two?!" Abraham screams.

"We were gathering Intel on who broke Clovis out." Bridgette says.

"Who?" Abraham asks.

"The Blood Faction and Ezra." Dev says while looking directly at me, while I'm screaming and bleeding everywhere.

"Jesus, did you turn him back?" Dev yells.

" Yes, there is a long story but basically, he needs to be a Vampire to kill Clovis and Clovis has no idea about his real weakness. He is not immune to Werewolves, but mine and Riley's bloodline is the only one who can destroy him once and for all. But it can't be me, Riley is the Dawn Bringer." Abraham explains to Dev

"What is 'The Dawn Bringer'?" Dev asks.

"The Dawn Bringer is a prophesized title given to a Vampire who is supposed to be bring about change to our kind, to right the wrong that was created ages ago. Our kind was meant to protect people from Werewolves, Wendigo's, and other things that go bump in the night. We were supposed to feed from animals." Says Abraham.

"That's the short version?" Dev says as he laughs

"Yes" Abraham says plainly.

      By the end of the day I am completely turned, Abraham brings me an actual Keg of blood. I have been drinking blood almost all day. I have been drinking so much blood that my eyes have turned Crimson and glow in the dark. That is referred to as Blooding. Bridgette opens the door and jumps as soon as she sees my eyes.

"Riley…I have been meaning to talk to you." Bridgette says.

"Talk about what?" I say as I wipe blood from my mouth.

"Riley, this baby i-" Bridgette tries to say. As Abraham busts in.

"Riley, the Blood Faction and Ezra are outside and they look like they want a fight. There must be like thirty of them!" Abraham says with urgency.

"Is Revan with them?" I ask.

"Yes, he is." Abraham says.

"Bridgette we will finish this later, we are in for a fight." I say.

    I sneak out to the boat on the side of the Castle and begin gearing up. I grab my hidden blade, I soak all of my ammo in holy water, and put Balthazar's Blade in my sheath across my back.

"Dev, Abraham, with me. We are going to kill every last one of them."

"Not without me!" Kat yells as she comes storming in from the basement door.

"Me too." Bridgette says.

"And if we go out, we go out as a family." I say. We walk up the basement steps and walk to the doors, and push them open.
