Entering The Job Associations

''What took you so long, Leader? We've been waiting here since forever, you know?'' Jajah asked with a sneer and smug face as she scratched her nose which only seemed to go longer.

Their Leader, Jax, finally arrived. But he arrived pretty later compared to them. It must be because of her formidable skill that caused him that.

Jajah couldn't help but feel proud.

''Haha, Jajah, you're getting more and more annoying.'' Jax replied with a faint smile. But he didn't pursue the matter any longer as he went on, ''Anyway, let's go and get a Job now. With our awakened abilities, I'm sure they wouldn't refuse our application.''

Since their Master was currently sleeping soundly, he didn't disturb him and decided to take responsibility. He didn't wait for their response as he started heading into the town.

''Alrighty!'' Jajah replied with the same lively voice as she followed behind Jax. She seemed to realize something as she suddenly asked, ''But where are we going first?''

''Just follow me like what you always do.'' Jax smiled in response.

''Alrighty!'' Jajah replied and she didn't ask any more questions. The others also tagged along, leaving only Heretic Saint and the Tikbalang out there.

''Oh? So this is the Association?'' Jajah and Ben asked as they both stared at the huge building before them.

But they weren't that surprised since they had already seen it before. They just didn't care about it as they also didn't head inside yet.

But now they felt curious. They really wanted to go inside now.

''What are you guys waiting for? Let's go,'' Jax beckoned as he took the lead and decided to head inside.

Job Associations like the Hunter Guild Association, Mercenary Guild Association, etc. in the towns like where they were now could be found in the same building. Everything also made it convenient for Awakeners to register and choose a Job they preferred.

So, it wasn't really difficult for Jax to register his friends. It just depended on their capabilities whether they could really pass the test and actually get a Job.

Soon, they entered the building. Since it was a public place, the security wasn't really that tight. They managed to get inside by showing their awakened abilities to the guard.

In any case, the place was definitely wide and many people were there doing their own business. With that alone, Jax could already tell that this would definitely be a long day. A helpless smile couldn't help but appear on his lips.

''Hey, brats. What the hell are you doing here? Did you get lost? This is not the place for you to enter.''

Jax and the band were about to go to the registration area when a deep and cold voice sounded. They subconsciously halted their steps and looked at the source of that voice.

And there they saw a man in his late 20s together with two others of the same age.

From the looks of it, they approached them without a good intention.

Jax couldn't help but sigh. This kind of man was what he hated the most. He definitely didn't want to deal with them and waste his precious time.

''We're here to register for a Job!'' Suddenly, the innocent Jajah replied with a lively smile. Jax couldn't help but smack his forehead seeing Jajah actually answered them.

''Register for what? For a Job? You brats want to get a Job?'' The man responded as if he couldn't believe what he just heard. He glanced at his companions but after a moment, he couldn't restrain himself from laughing together with his companions. ''Puahahaha, these brats must be insane.''

Then one of them spoke as well, ''Listen up brat. This is not the place for you to play. You better go home now and help your nanny do chores.''

''Yes, yes, even us who are veterans in this field failed the Hunter entrance exam five times already. I'm sure brats like you won't be able to do anything better,'' Another one added as he went on, ''So, just take our advice and leave. I'm telling you, this is something you can't do just because you brats are bored.''

''All of you failed the exam?'' Jajah asked with a surprise. She looked at their body builds and saw them quite muscular. If people like them still failed the entrance exam five times in a row, then...

''Yes, of course. Why else would we still be here?'' One of them replied as he shook his head slowly with a smile.

Jajah swallowed a mouthful of saliva, her eyes were telling it that she couldn't believe it at all.

Then she replied, ''You guys must be so weak and incompetent. How can you fail the exam that plenty of times when you are already this old?''

''Wha... What did you just say?'' One of them immediately responded furiously. What he just heard immediately forced him to become agitated.

''Pfft... Puahahaha, Jajah, you're being too honest. You can't just say something like that, especially when people are listening.'' Ben suddenly blurted out as he exploded in laughter. But what he said only made the three men more agitated and furious.

These brats must be courting death!

''How dare y...'' One of them was just about to blurt out his furious threats and resort to violence when suddenly, the kids turned around and started leaving.

''Ignore them,'' Jax said as he ignored them and continued his way to the registration area. The band followed along and didn't spare those three another glance anymore.

They instead talked with each other about the excitement they felt right now. As if they had not encountered those three in the first place.

Well, that was natural since they were used to people like them. They already encountered a lot of them in the past and they knew that they were just good-for-nothing bastards who had nothing else to do but to mess with people.

It was much better to ignore them since nothing good would come out if they let themselves be provoked by them.

''You brats...'' The three men had dark expressions overwhelming their faces seeing those brats ignored them without hesitation. That alone was something they could never accept. How dare they humiliate them in front of many people?!

The three looked around and, sure enough, people who saw them were laughing silently. They immediately went furious as the one who spoke earlier finally bellowed, ''Stop right there!''

The three of them were just about to make a move and force those brats to come out of the building. But then...

A cold yet serene voice of a woman suddenly interfered. The three quickly shifted their gazes and there they saw a familiar woman dressed in blue floral dress whose beauty toppled everyone else.

''Ma-madam Elise!!!'' The three of them exclaimed. The anger they felt earlier had been replaced with obvious fear.

Damn, they sure were unlucky. Of all the people there, why would this woman be here to interfere?

''Are the three of you here to cause another trouble again?'' The woman named Elise asked, her voice carrying utter coldness.

''Ah, of course not. We're just talking nicely with... them?'' One of the three replied as all of them forced out a smile. But when he was about to finish his words and was about to point out the kids, they just noticed that all of them weren't there anymore and had already gone far away from them.

They were now in the registration area.

"..." Elise also shifted her gaze at those kids. She went there to save them from all the troubles. But to think that those kids didn't even spare her a glance and left real quick. As if what she did for them wasn't even worth mentioning. That they could get away from that trouble even if she didn't interfere.

''Interesting,'' Elise muttered, a slight smile appeared on her lips. ''I think, I just found some good prospects.''
