Over The Biomes They Flew

Snowy Tundra Biome, OverWorld

Dawn

"How many biomes are there exactly?" Steve asked, curious to know the exact amount. Victoria, Alex, Annabeth, and Sedrick were all walking through the Snowy Tundra Biome. The sun was just beginning to rise over the nearby mountains; its light began to shine down on the biomes below.

"Let's see," Victoria said, "we have the Jungle, Woodlands, Birch forest, the plains, and the mountains biome. Ah, there's too many to keep track of. Why do you ask?"

Steve shrugged his shoulders. "No reason," he responded.

That gave Victoria an awesome idea. To explore the entire OverWorld by foot would take ages. But what if they were to do it from the air? Like flying over all the biomes?

"Showing you around the OverWorld by foot would take forever," Victoria said, sparking everyone's interest suddenly. They all looked at her. She could see the curiosity in their eyes. She smiled brightly.

She held her hand out. A glass bottle of a pink liquid appeared in her hand. The liquid was being held in the bottle by a cork. Everyone looked at the bottle, wondering what was inside of it.

"What is that?" Alex asked.

"A potion," Victoria responded.

"Can it turn me into a panda?" Annabeth questioned.

Sedrick, Alex, and Steve all laughed at Annabeth after she had said that. After seeing the pandas back in the Jungle munching on bamboo, Annabeth was amazed at how cute they looked. Fat and fluffy and cuddly. They're adorable animals aren't they?

Victoria shook her head. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but no. This potion is much more exciting."

"What does it do?" Steve asked.

"Why don't you drink it and find out?" Victoria said.

At first, Steve was hesitant to drink the liquid from inside of the bottle. Nobody knew Victoria very well. For all they know, she could be a bad guy. A pirate in disguise maybe? Although, that was impossible to pull off. But never say never.

Steve approached Victoria. He reached out to grab the bottle out of her hand. Once he did that, he pulled with all of his might. The cork popped off. Small, pink bubbles began emerging from the top of the bottle.

Alex, Annabeth, and Sedrick all watched Steve closely. He was basically going to be a test subject. If it didn't go well with him, they would know not to drink it. Hopefully that wasn't the case. Steve tilted his head back slightly, lifting the glass bottle up to his mouth.

He only took a small sip. Pink bubbles began floating out of his body when he did so. He put the cork back in the top of the glass bottle. Examining himself, he didn't look any different. Or feel any different.

"I don't feel anything," he said as Annabeth grabbed the bottle out of his hands. Steve looked back up at Victoria. "Wait a second. I think I'm feeling—," he said as he suddenly turned into a small, green frog. "Ribbit."

His feet were orange, while his eyes were all black. A fly began flying around him. He followed the fly carefully. As he did that, his long, pink tongue shot out of his mouth, catching the small pesky insect.

"Oh my," Victoria said, "wrong potion."

Before Victoria could take the bottle away from Sedrick, he took a big sip of the potion. He was curious to see what he would turn into when he drank the potion. Unlucky for him, he didn't turn to any ordinary animal. Instead, he transformed into a white unicorn.

"Neigh."

His horn was multiple different colors. Red, blue, green, and purple to name a few. The hair on him was pink, as was his tail. When Sedrick turned into the unicorn, he dropped the bottle of potion. Before Annabeth or Alex could have a turn with the potion, Victoria snatched it up quickly. She held the bottle in her hand. It then disappeared. Poof. Gone.

A new bottle appeared in her hand. Only this time the liquid was blue. Victoria popped the cork off of the bottle and tilted it. A drip of the liquid landed on Steve, instantly turning him back into a blockhead. A frog no more. She did the same with Sedrick. He too turned back into a blockhead.

"Did I just eat a fly?" Steve asked.

Alex looked over at him as he had a disgusted expression on his face. He could still taste the fly. A gross taste indeed. Trying not to laugh was difficult for Alex. She couldn't help herself.

"I bet it tasted delicious huh?" Alex said, beginning to laugh hysterically.

"No way! It was gross," Steve responded.

"You got turned into a frog. I got turned into a unicorn. What gives?" Sedrick questioned Victoria. Why is it that Steve became a frog and he became a unicorn?

"What's your favorite animal Sedrick?" Victoria asked. She was helping Sedrick understand why he got turned into a unicorn.

"A dolphin," he answered. "Why do you ask?"

Victoria sighed lightly. She could tell he wasn't being all too truthful. A dolphin was not his favorite animal, but it was on his list.

"You got turned into a unicorn because you were thinking of a unicorn when you drank that potion. That's why you got turned into a unicorn. It just so happened that Steve was thinking about a frog when he drank it."

Sedrick sighed heavily. His favorite animal was indeed a unicorn. His deepest, silliest secret was out. Having a unicorn be a favorite animal seemed a bit odd. Surly he wasn't the only one though right? There has to be other blockheads that love unicorns too.

"Anyways, I meant to give you all a potion that would allow you to fly. Although it would be a temporary effect," Victoria explained as another potion appeared in her hand. Now, she was confident she had the right one. No more silly accidental jokes.

"Is this the flying one? Or a potion that will turn me into a bumblebee?" Sedrick jokes. He made everyone giggle suddenly.

"I assure you all that this is the right one," Victoria said, "now drink up."

Again, Steve was hesitant. What if Victoria had the wrong potion again? Only one way to find out. He took the bottle and took a small sip. The liquid inside of the bottle was a dark blue color. Dark blue bubbles began emerging from his body, floating up into the sky.

Once the potion kicked in, Steve slowly began to lift off from the ground. Alex, Annabeth, and Sedrick all wanted a sip of the potion. They wanted to fly too.

"Guys look!" Steve said, "I'm—I'm flying! This is so cool!"

Alex was the next to take a drink. Then Annabeth and Sedrick. After they all drank the potion, Sedrick gave the bottle back to Victoria. She put the cork back in the bottle, then made it disappear. Unlike the others, she didn't need any special potion to fly.

Steve, Alex, Annabeth, Sedrick were all now floating in the air. Victoria looked up at them as she ascended up off of the ground. Once she was in the air, she quickly glanced at everyone. They were amazed at how cool being able to fly was.

"If there's one thing you all should know," Victoria said, "is that these lands are full of magic. Wizards, Warlocks, and Witches to name a few examples."

"How long will this last?" Annabeth questioned.

"Long enough to explore the vast world of biomes," Victoria said as she turned around, putting her back to everyone. "Follow me."

Together, Steve, Alex, Annabeth and Sedrick began flying close behind Victoria. Seeing the world from above looked gorgeous. It was jaw-dropping and stunning. The mountains swooshed by them as they flew.

Down on the ground, cows and sheep could be seen. The cows were brown with white spots on them, and the sheep were grey and white. Suddenly, the biomes changed. They were no longer in the Snowy Tundra. They were now flying through the desert Biome.

Nothing but tan colored sand and dark green cacti could be seen all around them. To their left, a twisting, blue river flowed. In the near distance, rushing water could be heard. There was a waterfall nearby.

Hopping around freely were grey and white rabbits. Slithering across the sand were long, slippery snakes. Some snakes were brown, while some others were black. Horses were seen running in a small herd to everyone's right.

The desert biome had ended, and the plains biome began. Tall green grass, and flowers were scattered all about. There were even bright, yellow sunflowers too. The sunflower's center was black.

Small oak trees were also scattered all around. Coming into view on the horizon was a bunch of small structures. Everyone had wondered what it was. As they flew closer, it became apparent as to what the structures were...a small village.

But don't be fooled. This village was no ordinary village. It was abandoned. The small buildings were somewhat damaged. Broken windows, damaged rooftops, and missing doors. No one seemed to be living here. It was a depressing sight to see.

At the desert biome's end, there was a large cobblestone castle. There were also more small houses, animal stables, and small patches of overturned dirt for farming. There was a single library, and blacksmith shop in the center of this Kingdom.

"We're going to land over here," Victoria said, "I want you to meet some friends of mine."

She then began descending back towards the ground. Steve, Alex, Annabeth and Sedrick did the same. Once everyone was safely back on the ground, they made their way towards the Kingdom.

One by one, Villagers came scrambling towards them. They were anxious to introduce themselves to the newcomers. Everyone seemed so friendly and welcoming. It was a nice feeling. It was also comforting too.

"Guys," Victoria said, "meet my friend Sam."

"Hello," Alex said as she waved her hand at him.

"Hi there," Annabeth and Sedrick said in unison.

"Nice to meet you, Sam," Steve said.

"Sam is the King of this Kingdom. This Kingdom is so old, that Sam was a part of the royal family that founded this place," Victoria stated.

"How old is your Kingdom?" Steve asked.

Sam smiled faintly. He knew exactly how old his Kingdom was.

"Four hundred and twenty-two years old," Sam answered, blowing everyone away with his answers. There was no possible way that his Kingdom was that old. But he answered it so confidently that it somehow made it believable. Was it though?

"You're kidding right?" Alex questioned. She was, for some reason, skeptical. But there was no need to feel that way as they were safe and welcomed into the Kingdom.

"Nope. I'm serious. I know that is a long time, but you have to believe me when I say it's 422 years old," Sam mentioned.

"It's a beautiful Kingdom Sam," Annabeth mentioned as she continued to look all around at her surroundings.

"Thank you," Sam responded. "Why don't I give you all the grand tour? How does that sound?"

"Sounds exciting," Steve answered, "where do we begin?"

"At the castle of course," Sam responded.
