The battle had not turned out the way Steve and Alex had originally thought it would. Now, because of their embarrassing loss, Nora had something in store for them. NetherBrine and HeroBrine were walking in front of Steve and Alex holding chains that were connected to shackles. Pumpkins covered Steve and Alex's heads so they couldn't see where they were being taken.
Everyone's footsteps echoed throughout the cold and dark cave. The only source of light came from NetherBrine's head. Franklin and Nora were walking next to each other behind Steve and Alex.
"Where are you taking them?" Franklin asked as he briefly glanced over at Nora, who was walking on his left.
"Somewhere where they'll never be a threat to the throne ever again," Nora answered.
Franklin nodded his head slowly. Not knowing exactly what Nora's plan was, frightened him. What was she going to do with his friends?
"I hope you're taking notes Franklin," Nora said.
"Notes for what?" Franklin asked.
Nora rolled her eyes and chuckled. "For that story you're writing about them."
Suddenly, the cave began to get a little brighter as they came upon the location of Nora's secret project. There was an iron door. A handle was mounted on the wall right next to it. Two armored guards stood on each side of the door. Above their heads were two burning torches.
Once they saw who was coming their way, they immediately fixed their posture. The armor they had on was crafted from Netherite; as were their swords.
"Open the door," Nora ordered the guard standing by lever to do. The guard nodded his head and turned. He grabbed the lever and pulled it down. The door then opened. NetherBrine and HeroBrine walked through the doorway first. Steve and Alex were right behind them. Lastly, Nora and Franklin walked through.
Once everyone had walked through the door and into the room behind it, Franklin got a good look around at where they were. It was a long and narrow hallway. Blue, green, red, and yellow portals lined each side of the hallway. Not all of them were active though. Only the green one was.
Franklin also made note of the iron golems roaming about this hallway. They must be the protectors of this place.
NetherBrine and HeroBrine stopped walking and turned around to face Nora. They were still holding the chains in their hands. Franklin reached into his inventory to grab his book and quill out.
Nora looked down at Franklin's hand, noticing that he was writing notes down for the story. She smiled at the fact that he did just as she asked.
"Take them off," Nora said.
NetherBrine and HeroBrine grabbed the pumpkins and lifted them off of Steve and Alex's head. As the pumpkins came off, Steve and Alex immediately began examining their surroundings.
"Surprise!" Nora said with a bright smile on her face, "welcome to what I call….the Hallway of Portals. It's still a work in progress, but….," she continued on to say.
"You're not going to execute us?" Steve questioned.
"Where's EnderBrine?" Alex asked.
Nora decided to answer Steve's question first. She shook her head. "No. I have something far better in store for you two. Killing you wouldn't satisfy my needs as much as this will."
Steve looked over at Franklin. How come he wasn't in shackles? Why did he have his book and quill out? Steve was angered and outraged by how everything had panned out for them. The battle to be more specific.
Thinking that their prophecy was right. Being the saviors that would dethrone Nora. But no. None of that actually happened.
"You two are probably wondering how this could've happened, am I right?" Nora said, "allow me to explain. Franklin here was the true blockhead behind that prophecy. He's secretly been helping me remain in power, and rid this world of any heroes."
"Coward!" Alex shouted at Franklin, "how could you? This is all your fault!"
"You'll understand one day," Franklin responded as he continued writing in his book.
"Tell me Nora," Steve said, "what are you going to do with blockheads who get in your way?"
Nora laughed and then scoffed. "Banish them of course," she said as she walked over to the green portal.
Resting in two flower pots on the ground were two red roses. At the top of the portal was a sign. It had only one word written on it. But Steve not Alex could make out what it said. It was too dark.
Nora stood right next to the Portal, examining it from top to bottom. She felt the shiny, emerald blocks that made up the frame of the portal. Cold to the touch.
The portal itself was making weird sounds. Small green particles could be seen being sucked into it. As for Steve and Alex, they were only two blocks away from the portal.
"I feel like I'm being pulled into the portal," Alex mentioned as she looked over at Steve. Steve could see the desperation on her face. He saw just how scared she actually was.
Steve looked over at Nora. He held his hands up in the air and began begging Nora not to do this to them. She didn't budge. She had made up her mind. Besides, Steve and Alex have caused enough harm. They should've known their reckless behavior would lead them to where they are now.
"Please Nora!" Steve said, "we'll do anything you want. Anything at all."
"You'll do anything?" Nora questioned, taking into consideration Steve's comment. She thought about it for a moment. After thinking about it, she shook her head. "No. I can manage on my own."
Franklin was silent. He wanted to help Steve and Alex, but simply couldn't. If he did, Nora would send him through the portal too. That was the last thing he wanted.
"Push them through," Nora ordered NetherBrine and HeroBrine to do.
NetherBrine and HeroBrine grabbed Steve and Alex's arms tightly. They began pushing them closer towards the portal. Franklin continued to watch helplessly as his friends were being forced into the portal.
"NORA! YOU MONSTER!" Alex yelled as loudly as she could, "You won't get away with this. You can't keep heroes at bay forever you know!"
"And that's why I have EnderBrine dealing with that as we speak," Nora mentioned, "I wish you the best of luck in this new land."
"NOR—," Steve shouted as both he and Alex were pushed into the portal, disappearing from the OverWorld forever. NetherBrine and HeroBrine backed away from the portal and then looked over at Nora.
"Where'd they go?" HeroBrine asked.
Nora pointed up at the sign. HeroBrine and NetherBrine both looked up at it. Neither of them could make out what the wording on the sign said. HeroBrine flew into the air and hovered over everyone else. He squinted his eyes as he read the single word on the sign mentally.
After that, he slowly descended back to the ground. He landed gently. NetherBrine looked at him.
"What did it say?" NetherBrine asked.
"It said…..Ear—," HeroBrine said as he stopped talking suddenly.
The iron door slammed open. The two guards who were outside came running into the room. Nora, HeroBrine, NetherBrine and Franklin all looked at them.
"What? What is it?" Nora asked.
"The resistance! They've found us!" The guards responded in unicen.
As Daniel turned the page in the book, the remaining pages were gone. Ripped out of the book to be exact. Daniel slammed the book shut.
Daniel was in his private library inside the castle. Since Petra's death, he's been secluding himself from the outside. Moving on wasn't easy, especially when the incident was recent.
He wanted to find out what happened next after Steve and Alex were banished. Did the resistance ever manage to defeat Nora? What happened to Franklin? Daniel had so many questions. The missing pages from the book must have the answers.
Daniel got up from sitting down in his chair. He began walking back over to the bookshelf to put the book away. It was getting late. Daniel needed rest.
After putting the book back onto the shelf, he made his way over to the oakwood door. Right as he grabbed the handle, the ground suddenly began rumbling and shaking. The candle lit chandelier shook. Everything around him shook.
He opened the door and walked out into the hallway of the castle. There was no one in sight. The hallway was vacant. Where did all of the guards go? They were here earlier when Daniel had come to his library. The ground shook violently once more.
"Hello?" Daniel shouted. His voice echoed throughout the hallway. He looked down the hallway to his left, then to his right. As he looked to his right, he saw Merlin.
"Daniel!" Merlin shouted, "come quick! You need to see this."
Daniel frowned. Why was Merlin so distressed? Daniel ran down the hallway to catch up to Merlin. Once the two of them met up, They both began running again down the main hallway towards the front door.
As they approached the entrance to the Castle, loud screams and cries for help could be heard.
"What's going on out there?" Daniel asked Merlin in a concerned and worried tone.
"You'll see," Merlin said, "come on."
Merlin and Daniel barged through the doors and ran outside. What they saw was complete chaos. Blockheads were running all around. Daniel was looking all around, but couldn't see what it was that was causing the ground to rumble and shake.
Then he looked up. There it was! A gigantic cobblestone golem. It's eyes were glowing a dark green. Vines hung off its arms and head.
"What—is that?" Daniel asked.
"The Golem Monster," Merlin responded.
It roared loudly, scaring the birds that were sleeping in the trees. It raised its leg and foot off of the ground. Daniel couldn't look away from it. What was he going to do? Was there anything he could do?
The golem monster then began lowering his leg. He was going to slam his foot down onto the ground. But the only problem? His foot would land right on the castle.
"Oh sea pickles," Daniel said, "abandon the kingdom!"
