"Does everyone have their projects?" Ms. Jessie asked the class. Everyone lifts them up. "Okay then, who wants to go first?" Hands shoot up into the air. Then, she decides "Okay, how about... Jane?" Eyes move to the back of the class to a girl with brown hair and bangs so long, they cover up most of her eyes. She stands and takes the papers that rested on her desk. She hands the paper to the teacher, since she is unable to read it to the class. "She made a drawing of the project, what it would be like if she was the opposite of herself." The teacher says. She hands the drawing to a student and tells the class, "Pass it around so everyone can see it."
She then starts reading from the second paper, with the explanation of what the drawing is representing. "If I were the opposite of myself, I think I would be very pretty." The paper with the drawing shows a girl with the same long brown hair but it is moved to the side so you can see her whole face. She is wearing expensive clothes and jewelry and has people behind her.
The teacher looks up from the paper and back at the young student with a worried expression. Jane's eyes are barely visible, but you can tell that her eyes are open, looking down, small tears forming. "That looks like you put a lot of hard work and thought into it." Ms. Jessie says, pointing to the paper in one of the other student's hands. Jane looks up at the teacher and nods. She pulls out a small piece of paper and writes 'Am I done now?'. This makes the teacher smile a small bit. "Yes, you are done. You can sit down."
The small girl looks away from the teacher's glance to look at the class. She walks back to her seat in the back of the classroom. Ms. Jessie looks at the rest of the students, "Who's next?"
